4.0 out of 5 stars.  great for getting past the beginning stages, June 8, 2007
By wwwhack (NH USA)
If you've managed to get comfortable riding your bike on that local trail and you're interested in improving on your handling skills then this will undoubtedly prove to be a great resource. If you've read Ned's book then you'll find the content is similar. I'd recommend one or the other but not both.

I gave it only four stars because I bought it hoping for coverage of more advanced skills. I wish the page at Amazon had been more descriptive.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Getting started and moving past beginner, July 31, 2007
By Brian Capstick (Oakville, ON Canada)
I got this DVD at the same time as I got Fundamentals Mountain Bike Technique DVD .

Ned's DVD was superior in that it was structured more like a clinic with ideas clearly explained. Nothing too flashy just really good advice and skill teaching.

Extras include trail-side maintenance and setting up your suspension.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Technical Skills from a Champion Rider, January 4, 2008
By J. Silva (Los Angeles,CA)
I'm not a professional mountain biker. Mostly do it just for fun. I was amazed at the things Ned was able to demonstrate in the video. Many trails, and areas that I used to walk my bike through, I am now able to ride through after practicing a few of the techniques in the video. It's amazing just to watch him execute some of these techniques.

If you are a beginning to intermediate rider you could really benefit from watching this.

I primarily commute with my mountain bike and often use the down Low Glow Down Low Glow Lighting Kit - Two Tubes-Envy(green)Down Low Glow Lighting Kit - Single Tube - Envy(green)Down Low Glow Lighting Kit - Two Tubes - Plush(red) It is rugged enought for moutain biking too. I've used it on a few late evening rides.

Related moutain biking dvds worth checking out: Wildflower Mountain Biking for Women & Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance. Although the wildflower is primarily made by women for women, i think it has useful tips for men too. The zinn dvd I refer to all the time. I'm not one to spend my life reading manuals so i refer to that one all the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  The BEST instruction book for Mountain Biking - A Must Have, December 30, 2003
By Bigbull (California, USA)
After three years of riding I depended on magazines, books and advise from my boddy to improve my riding. And even I though I learn a lot from books and internet, this video still impressed me by very detailed demostration of each topic. This is not only a MUST for anyone new to the sport (along with the book in the same title), it will help a lot for intermediate to advanced rider who is willing to take advise from top pros (not just watch them jump!) I only regreat that I didn't have it earlier.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good basics, July 9, 2010

Good DVD, a little outdated, but well presented. This WILL inspire you to get out and ride. I enjoyed it.
A better instructiuonal video is Fluid ride's tape.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Get you technique down, November 4, 2002
By Lisa Bradshaw (Pompano Beach, Fl USA)
with this video. Learn the techniques needed to be a solid rider from the experts. Features Ned Overend, Jon Tomac and Juli Furtada. The music is repedative as it only plays one song throughout the whole video. But don't let that stop you from getting this video. If you're already an intermediate to advanced rider, you probably won't learn anything new, but for those that are just getting into mountain biking, this video will help you to learn the techniques to become an intermediate rider. Overall, a very good learning video.
