Michelin Quality, October 2, 2009
By Keither47 (Wichita Falls, Texas United States)

Have had these tires on my road bike for three weeks and am pleased with them. They seal on the rim good and hold air pressure well, also. They grip good when wet and in cornering as well. Michelin quality comes through with these tires. All that and a nice price make these tires recommendable.

I wish I could give half-stars -- 3.5/5, June 11, 2010
By Mom 2 baby L (Chicago, IL United States)

These tires are great. I've put about 450-500 miles on them and so far they're wearing far less than the stock Kendas that came on my bike.
They handle surprisingly well on wet roads and on Chicago's notoriously treacherous steel grate surfaced bridges, even at a 25cm tire width. It took 3 months of riding to get my first flat, which is awesome. However, I then got 2 flats (front and rear) in the same day. Front due to 2-3 glass shards completely embedded in the rubber, which I'm pretty diligent about checking for so they couldn't have taken long to work their way in, and the rear due to the rubber actually being split/cut perpendicular to the circumference of the tire. The front is fine to keep riding, but given the depth of the split of the rear, it had to be replaced.

Horrific!!!, August 11, 2010
By hyonsoo (San Ramon, CA United States)

I thought I was saving money by purchasing an inexpensive tire and I trusted the name Michelin because of their reputation.
WRONG!
Rode 200 miles and already had three punctures from goatheads.
The rubber is very soft, hence becomes magnet for debris and thorns.
At this rate, I will have to dole out $60 on tubes alone by 1000 mile mark.
The initial amount I saved up front does not offset the upkeep cost of replacing the tubes.
I will replace it with a gatorskin from probikekit for 30 bux, even though this Michelin shows no sign of wear.
As a comparison, I rode 600 miles on Continental super sport and ultra 2000 with zero flats.
The super sport is still on the rear wheel while the Michelin is on the front, and guess what?
Still no flats on the Continental, even though statistically rears are more prone to flats due to higher weight support.
Continentals are also budget tires btw.
I guess it's fine for fooling around your neighbors, but inappropriate for commuters such as myself.
If you ignore my warning, and still decide to pick one up, the tire runs a bit wide, hence you may wish to step down a size.

Durability of Michelin Dynamic 700x28 & 700x32 tire, March 25, 2011
By Jake
|
|
Purchased 6 of these, 4 for two road bikes with 2 for spares. After less than 500 miles on relatively smooth surfaced roads the 700x32 rear tire on my Trek hybrid developed a bulge in the tread area about 1/4" high and 3" long with a very noticeable distortion in the tread. Obviously it thumped quite badly which is how I discovered it. After changing it I could not find any separation of the casing inside the tire, just a weak area that you could push out easily with your finger. These tires are serviced correctly prior to each ride with the maximum rated psi (87). Could just be an isolated incident but now I am questioning the safety of these as I ride 100% by myself out in rural areas.

Not too thrilled..., June 25, 2010
By Mario, Peoria, AZ

Michelin Dynamic 700cx23 came with the bike. Took the bike to the bike shop for pro adjustment. Took it for a ride, and in the first 4 1/2 miles experienced a front flat. Wasn't too happy but thought could happen to anyone. Replaced it, checked the tire for foreign objects which I couldn't find, inspected the tire on the outside and didn't see punctures, put a new tube, got home. Within two days I had another flat on the front wheel, 21 miles total. Took appart everything, triple inspected everything, no visible puncture, nothing inside of the tire. Tube was punctured on a different spot this time. Overall not too happy with the tire. After the second incident I didn't have any problems yet, it's been about 50-70 miles later. I am not sure if tubes were bad, Kenda tubes, I used these before without many issues. If I don't have any more problems I might consider this tire again, but if this keeps on happening I am switching.

rolling better now, April 27, 2010
By BPBhorn (Davenport, IA)

I've had the Michelin Dynamic Tire on my bike for a couple of weeks now and I really love them! I can tell my ride is faster and smoother than the semi-knobby 700X35 tires I was running before. I actually got a little off road and they felt OK. Haven't had a problem yet. Definately a good purchase!

Outstanding durability, June 19, 2011
By Wolfgang Sturmey-Archer
|

I rode 2300 road miles on a set of Michelin Dynamic 700/28Cs before the first puncture, so I was definitely due one! When properly maintained (i.e. correctly fitted and not over inflated) these are excellent tyres with durability that puts several other manufacturers products to shame.

Cheap and speedy!, May 17, 2011

These tires are an excellent replacement for those stock tires for your bike. I can't comment on the life of these yet, as they're barely a week old, but so far they are doing their job adequately. If you're low on money, but you're experiencing a lot more flats than you used to and/or are losing traction on your rides a bit more frequently, I HIGHLY recommend these, if at least to hold you over until you can buy some more expensive ones!

Good value for money, but easily punctured, May 1, 2011
By Maryland Customer (Maryland, USA)
|
|
Purchased the 700x28 versions for training tires for a road bike. Using my digital caliper, the 28 version actually measures 28.5mm wide, so it's pretty close to spec.
I've 300 miles on the tires so far, all on country asphalt roads. The Dynamic rolls well and is comfortable. However, compared to my other tires, the tread is soft, so it wears quickly. Worse, the soft tread picks up glass, and then the glass goes straight thru to the tubes. Have experienced 4 flats already, once was a double flat when 5 miles from home. Good thing a good Samaritan stopped and offered me and the bike a ride home!
All and all, a good value for the money, but that value is tempered by all the extra $$ you will spend on replacement tubes.
So if you've got glass on the roads you ride, look for a different, more puncture resistant tire.

Great Bicycle Tires from Micheln., December 24, 2010

These tires are supple and strong. They are too new to say how they will wear, but my guess is tht they will do well by this test.

First tire didn't hold up well, December 22, 2010
By Psychobabble
|
|
I bought two of these on the strength of the Michelin name. After a few weeks, about 60 miles, the first tire had lots of damage from Chicago road debris. Granted, Chicago streets seem paved with broken glass, but the Kenda's that came on the bike did well for a year. I switched the first tire out for the second one, which seems to be doing okay after the same number of miles. At least no flats yet, knock on wood.

Michelin road tire., September 7, 2010

Good tire, especially for the price. The 700 x 25 is a little wider than I expected but still OK. Next time I will probably go with the 700 x 23.

A good tire for the price, August 25, 2010
By bkhoo (Pennsylvania Suburbs)

I use my road bike for commuting and recreational riding. I picked up a Michelin Dynamic Tire (700x25c) to replace a damaged tire. So far it has performed well. I ride on some roads that are a bit rough (broken pavement, stones, etc) and the tire has done a good job protecting the tube.

Boring tire almost perfect, August 22, 2010
By Michael Remington
|
|
I put them on my wife's commuter/shopping bike. Its been two months and I haven't had to do a thing to them. We live in Goat head thorn land with a mix of broken glass.
They aren't super high pressure so she can use our tire pump to air them up.
No flats no complaints.

Mixed feelings, August 11, 2010
By HostileHST (Oregon, USA)
|
|
Put these tires on with new tubes and the front tube pinched within 11 miles. Fortunately it was on the return ride to home and only 300 yards away from our house, so it was a short walk, but in comparison to how to how long it lasted? FOR SHAME!! They really could use a better side wall for protection from everyday road debris. I've put the bike on the racks and have been too afraid to go out again. Eventually I'll grow a pair and give it another try.

OK so far, May 23, 2010
By P. Engel (New York, NY, US)

I had a flat within the first week of installing my 700 X 25C tire on the rear of my '94 GT Force. Since then, all has been well. It rides and handles well and seems to bring the bike back to the handling I remember from years back.

Dont expect them to last, March 23, 2010
By Bromley Blade (Bromley, Kent, UK)
|
|
Summary:
Run them for 1000 miles then throw them away.
Had these fitted and ran for 1000 miles with few issues and then another nightmare 200 miles.
Positives:
They are cheap, grip well in the dry and the wet, fairly fast rolling and not too heavy.
Pressures:
At 120 psi they are a little harsh though and transmit every bump and irregularity you ride over. At around 90 to 100 psi they feel like you are running on a flat. Between 80 and 90 psi they feel really comfortable but that increases the rolling resistance. They can run all the way down to 60 if you really must and I have even limped home 20 miles on 40 psi thanks to a useless mini pump after a flat.
The first 1000 miles was OK. (not brilliant but OK and still a huge improvement over a set of Conti Ultra Gatorskins)
Negatives:
However after 1000 miles they started to cut up badly, the rubber is just too soft and every ride (and I do mean every ride however short) there was another cut, more punctures and another load of glass and grit embedded which needed removing. After going through 4 tubes in 3 weeks I replaced them with Vittoria Diamante Pros - more expensive but SO much better.
Not the easiest to get on and off the rims but I have had much worse (eg Conti Ultra Gatorskins)

Good tires, September 1, 2011
By tranhungdaosr

I bought two of these tires a few months ago. I had Michelin tires before and I liked them because they lasted a long time. These two had Michelin logo but were made in Taiwan. I did not know if it would make any difference if I knew. I am a recreational rider. I only put in about 100 miles a week. Thus, if there was a difference in rolling resistance between these tires and others, I wouldn't be able to tell. The tires fit well on my rims. I put them on without needing any tools. I wore my riding gloves when I did that. The tires felt very smooth and balanced. The rubber did felt soft comparing to the older Michelin tires I had. I put on about 400 miles now and I had not seen any sign of wear yet. I think they will last 1000 miles easy. The price was very low comparing to other tires. In all, I was pleased with these tires. Good products for the money.
