  • 23 vents allow cool air in and warm air out
  • Weighs 260 grams and comes in Universal Adult size

Product Description:
The all-new Venture has loads of top-notch features for your next adventure. ErgoDial fit system, easy-to-adjust Cam-Lock levers, 23 vents, and a Snap-In visor.
The Bell Venture Fusion Sport Bike Helmet is constructed with a fusion in-mold microshell, which utilizes the process of bonding the helmet's microshell to its EPS foam layer, rather than forming the two separately and taping them together later, to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet. This helmet features Bell's ErgoDial fit system to deliver an easy one-hand adjustment with the press of a button and slide of the dial for a firm, snug and comfortable stability.

The Venture also features a removable snap-in visor, and cam-lock levers that make it easy to adjust the straps around your ears. For your comfort, this bicycle helmet includes 23 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and warm air out. The Venture helmet comes in Bell's Universal Adult size (54-61cm), weighs 260 grams, and complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets.

Helmet Tips--You Should Always...

  • Wear a helmet when you ride
  • Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
  • Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
  • Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
  • Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
  • Wear a helmet designed for your activity

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Two and a half years later..., November 1, 2008
By Kevin Septor (Seattle, WA USA)
As you can see from the customer product images, I purchased a Bell Venture helmet over two years ago. I'm back to buy another because I fell off the edge of a low "North Shore" ladder at a mountain bike park and this helmet saved my noggin from a good wallop. As it's designed to, the helmet cracked but my head didn't.

My Venture has held up well for the ~3,000 miles I've put on it. The glue on the pads on the front has worn out a little causing the backing/foam/felt to separate about halfway but it's still comfortable just a little uncosmetic. The chin strap has avoided getting worn out on my cheek's beard stubble better than my other Bell helmet but maybe it's a fluke.

It may sound cheap, but there are many virtues behind the "universal size" scheme. The ratchet is easy to adjust and allows to lend it to someone you're trying to get into cycling.

The vents let a moderate amount of airflow in. In the summer it's a tad hot, but on the plus side the built in (removable) visor helps keep the sun out of your eyes. If you want superb ventilation you'll probably need to spend at least 3 times as much on a fancier helmet. But in the winter you'll be able to fit a cycling cap under just fine (once again hooray for that nice adjustment range).

Bottom Line: this could be the best $40 you've ever spent.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice intro helmet, January 10, 2008
By Rafael Ramos
A great helmet for the price and for a larger head. I tried on almost every helmet at the shop - they all either made my head look way bigger or had areas in the helmet that squeezed my head. The venture is nicely designed and spacious enough inside - for the people with smaller heads, it has a really easy and useful adjustable knob at the back. Haven't crashed yet but i have heard good things about bell.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great choice, November 2, 2007
By Hep Cat (Sedona, Arizona)
The Bell Ventura is my first bike helmet, and I am delighted with it. It is comfortable, easy to adjust, and very reasonably priced.

The color even matches my mountain bike, and I'm so glad it has the detachable visor.

Though all of these bike helmets look rather strange, the ventilation keeps my head both protected and cool. I wear the Ventura every time I go out riding, and I wouldn't hop on my bike without it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Bell Venture Is Good Choice For Everyday Riding, July 2, 2009
By JBR (LA GRANGE, IL United States)
This helmet is light, it has a comfortable fit, it has good ventilation, it is easy to adjust(front and back) and it is a durable, sturdy choice for every day use.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Cool head, July 20, 2010
By Super (wo) man! (Caribbean)
This helmet is good bang for your buck and with 16 vents, you're sure to keep a cool head. I especially like the ErgoDial fit system; I was able to adjust the fit to my head making it as snug as I like it and with a head measurement of 22" it's just what I neaded. I also liked the fact that it doesn't move around on my head as others did. It's light weight without feeling or looking cheap. I usually wear shades with mine and although I haven't tried them yet I'm thinking it should work. This is my second BELL helmet...4 extra vents and a better fit...I'm happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This helmet has all the average rider needs, May 5, 2010
By R. Reilley
I am a casual biker. I go on some organized rides, bike trails and rides around the neighborhood with my kids. I was replacing a ten year old helmet and did some reasearch on helmets beforehand. I found some fit rounder heads and some fit oval heads better. I have more of an oval shaped little larger head. I tried on Gyro and Specialized, but Bell fits me like a glove. Just make sure you read the instructions on how to adjust it correctly. This helmet was so popular at the bike store I bought the last one. I was surprised at how low the price was too. I was expecting to pay almost twice as much. I tried on some more expensive helmets, but the difference was not really noticeable. I got the titanium/silver color and it looks really sharp. You will not be disappointed with this helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great helmet for a great price, April 9, 2010
By fossil hunter (Borrego Springs, CA)
As I was needing a good bicycle helmet, I was pleased when I found the Bell Venture helmet. It's a good solid helmet which fits nicely with the use of a camming device at the rear of the helmet. Along with that, it's very stylish and very affordable. If someone asked me to suggest a bike helmet, it would be this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Sturdy, Aerodynamic Helmet!, July 28, 2009
By Josh (NJ, USA)
After much searching, I selected the Bell Venture, and I now realize how good a choice this helmet is. The design includes a low-resistance shape without compromizing the structural integrity for safe biking.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Bell VENTURE design ROCKS! 21.25-24"= fits more people!, July 13, 2011
By dream cruizer (Elkhorn, NE United States)
Thank you Bell VENTURE...this one ROCKS!
54-61cm=21.25-24", weighs 260 grams=9.2 oz.
I have been studying bike helmets...
Most other helmets were for tiny woman head (up to 57cm), straps were lame, or vents too few, or only came with black everywhere which would heat up in the sun...D-U-H!

Bell just makes a better helmet...because every other maker follows their lead.
--The heat set molded Styrofoam appears denser and thicker. The back end is much thicker and wide enough to add on a small, red sticker type reflector, OR piece of reflective tape, if desired. (Note: it is hard to attach things to Styrofoam, and I have read articles that say some 'sticker' glues can deteriorate structure of helmet Styrofoam.)
--The plastic exterior top layer is heat-molded & created to the Styrofoam (not just glued on) and the design on mine seems to be be reflective in areas to lights. (NOTE: the silver/aqua blue flower section looks to have reflective paint areas.)
--The straps are a heavier grade woven poly strap (blue sky color on mine) that are much longer than other helmets by at least 2-3 inches and have a great under ear mechanism metal 'cam' that unlocks when you flip the wing up to adjust the front or back straps with ease. (If you wanted to cut straps off, I suppose you could you would just have to heat seal the ends again carefully with liquid Fray-Check or some people use small lighter sealing by melting ends as on grosgrain ribbon.)
--The strap ends are heat sealed so don't ravel and feel much better attached than the Schwinn helmets.
--There is a sturdy dial type rotary mechanism at the back for sizing of circumference strap to either cinch in or let out for larger noggins. This is much better than some helmets with a piece of elastic! (My noggin is 23 inches and works great! Most women helmets only go to 22.5"=tight for me.)
--On the interior there are molded foam pads at the front & sides plus there are two top crown pads attached to small Velcro dots. These are not thick pads, but rather to protect the head from the plastic parts.
--Also the light gray/silver color of helmet, Styrofoam and the sunshade visor do NOT collect the heat of other models sporting black. The visor is not large & can be removed, though I have not tried.

I received this as a gift from my daughter from a big family owned sporting chain, and BELL is all they carry for regular bicycle helmets...why? Because they are the best & usually not returned.
(No, I don't work for Bell nor invest with them.)
I comment here to help my fellow AMAZON-ers that utilize the reviews to help decide on a purchase.

HAPPY BIKING!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Well fitting helmet, and still feminine, September 12, 2010
By Ashley E Singer
I was disappointed to discover that I cannot wear "ladies" sized bicycle helmets. My head circumference is not large (21.5") but my head is very round, so the ladies sized bicycle helmets would press in uncomfortably on my head from side to side, but be very loose from front to back.

So I began searching for a helmet that still looked feminine, but would not be too narrow for my head. This helmet fit the bill! It is nice and light, and has all kinds of adjustors inside to customize the fit. If you find that you have a round head, as opposed to more oval shaped, this is a great helmet for you. And I believe there were other color combinations to choose from as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Bell better fit for me, June 16, 2010
By K. Livingston
I bought this after talking to a local bike shop. I was really interested in a Giro Helmet as I heard good reviews about them. I went in and the mechanic at the bike shop that bell and Giro are the same company. There helmets are basically the same, with one difference. The bell has a more rounded feel, so if you are like me with a more round head it fits perfectly. I tried the Giro and found a lot of pressure on the front and rear of my head. With the bell I didn't have that pressure. It's a great inexpensive helmet. that has enough vents to keep my head cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very comfortable and adjustable, April 6, 2010
By John Prindle (Enumclaw, WA USA)
Works as advertised. Comfortable and adjustable. Well vented. Like the visor.

Also, feel the white color makes me more visible, day and night, and reflects hot sun.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Helmet, March 17, 2010
By S. McDonald
I purchased my first bike helmet. I never wanted one as they are normally so alien looking. This one looks normal and is easy to adjust and fit onto your head. You can remove the plastic visor on the front. Nice price too.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Everything I expected, March 5, 2010
By J. Marley (Arlington, Va)
This is my first bike helmet and I am thoroughly pleased with it. The fit is really the most important thing. The adjustable dial in the back of the helmet allows it to fit my head perfectly. The chin straps are also adjustable allowing for more or less room around the ears and neck. For the price you can't beat it. Although, I would recommend going to a sports store and trying a few helmets on. For me, this fit as well as the more expensive ones, but it was not as glitzy.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Helmets = BELL is my choice for protection, July 6, 2009
By Loyal Shopper (Elko,NV USA)
Safety first, with that in mind, BELL is the first "helmet" mfg I think of. For many years my family has trusted BELL for all our helmets. The Venture fits great with the easy turn adjustable "headliner". The vents help air flow keep you cool. A very comfortable fit. Looks great, too!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  nice helmet for price, March 9, 2012
By labrpac (rochester ny)
This is an attractive, light, easily adjustable helmet. It will do nicely to replace my old favorite Bell helmet. Not so sure I appreciate the prominent multiple Bell logos attached to the helmet so I will probably cover or replace these with reflective tape. It would be nice to have some reflective areas on the helmet for greater visibility.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable...., July 10, 2011
By D. Brown (Clermont, FL)
All helmets bought in the US all have to meet certain specs. This helmet is no exception, so I won't comment on how safe it is. The helmet is however very comfortable. Before I purchased the helmet, I was concerned if this item on my head would be bothersome. I am please to say, I actually forget that I am wearing it most of the time which is a huge compliment as I am very sensitive with anything that has to set or hang off any part of my body. This helmet has active cooling vents which do work as indicated. I can feel the air passing through when I pay attention to it. Most of the time I pay no attention to the helmet on my head. Long or short rides. It is very comfortable. I highly recommend this helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice Helmet - Good Value, October 19, 2010
By Scott R. Snyder
I reviewed many helmets before deciding to purchase this one. Some reviews indicated that the straps don't lay flat, if you play with the adjustments a little you can get the straps to lay flat. I have not tested the actual protection of the helmet since I have managed not to wreck, however, it appears as though it would do a good job. The color also matched my titanium colored Cannondale pretty nicely as well. I would recommend this helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good quality for fair price, October 8, 2010
By B.S.B. (Princeton, NJ USA)
I had a similar model that cracked when I crashed and hit the pavement. No head injuries so its safety features are proven. I like the adjustment wheel in the back which gives me a near custom fit that you would pay much more for in the high end models. I took off the removable sun visor since it doesn't really serve any purpose. I prefer sun glasses since they also prevent getting hit in the eye by some bug. Maybe the more expensive models have a bit more style but my first priority is safety and this helmet provides it at a low price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works great, August 8, 2010
By W. Burkhouse (Washington D.C.)
I wear this helmet every day when I ride my bike to work. It took a few days of playing with the adjustments to make it comfortable but all smooth sailing since then. The helmet allows plenty of airflow, Washington DC in August is bearable.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice helmet for a great price!, June 22, 2010
By Mr. picky yoon (huntington, NY)
I needed a replacement helmet for my Giro that was about 15 years old and disintegrating. Since I only ride about once a week now, I did not want anything exotic or expensive.
This is a very nice helmet at a low price point. I've worn it on 2 rides so far and find that it is light and fairly comfortable. I dont like the strap buckle as it is tricky to operate, but I suppose I'll get used to it.

I am not sorry I bought this, and would buy it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fits large heads., September 10, 2011
By Uncle Rico (Manhattan Beach, CA)
I tried this on at a box store before I purchased here on Amazon. I have a rather large head and so I did not want to end up with a helmet that would be too snug. It fit well and so I purchased it. Pretty nice helmet for fitness biking or casual rides. I only have one gripe. The cheap sticker padding inside the helmet was not on straight. I think it will come off after only a few uses. Oh well, I still like the helmet.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Difficult to adjust size, November 7, 2011
By Ephesian
PRO: Quality of construction seems OK.

CON: The size is very difficult to adjust, especially toward smaller sizes. In winter I alternate between using an ear warmer and not, so I may change it twice a day. Takes a lot of force to get it smaller, and the release button top open it sticks too.

OTHER: I wish the sun visor was about an inch longer, like my old Bell helmet. May need to use sunglasses with this one. Also, the Y-clip doesn't lay flat on your face, but perpendicular to it, so hopefully you can adjust it to sit in the mid-air near your ear rather than dig into your cheek.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  new helmet, November 1, 2011
By Sonya Duffy (New York, NY USA)
This arrived promptly and in good condition. I am still fiddling around with the straps to get the right fit, but it feels comfortable and seems to fit well. The Ergofit system adjusts, which will be nice once winter is here and I will be wearing a hat. My only issue, and it is a relatively small issue, is that the clip fastener under the chin is somehow a little awkward. You have to get it just right to get the clip to fasten and the straps never seem to lie exactly flat. Apart from that small issue, I would recommend this helmet.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Still need some improvement for Asian heads, October 10, 2011
By Alex
Although the helmet is labeled universal fit, it still needs some improvement for Asian heads. However, it is a good helmet. I always trust Bell Venture series. A friend of mine fell off from a slope while riding wearing bell venture, the helmet was totally broken, and he was totally fine. Because that example, I kept this helmet although it is not totally comfortable.

Do not be mislead, here I mean the helmet is fine for my head, but not totally comfortable as expected. I have higher standard on that I think. Anyway, I think the helmet worth 4 stars

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Product, April 19, 2012
By Lou
This is a good product for the price of $29.97. The one size fits all adjuster is easy to use. It is a light helmet with plenty of ventilation. It is comfortable and it looks great on my head. I did not give it 5 stars because the chin strap latch is a little difficult to latch at times. Good product at a fair price.
