4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great buy for the price, very comfortable if adjusted properly, July 5, 2007
By Daniel Brown (White Heath, IL United States)
I had one of these on my road bike for about two years. In that time, I probably rode about 1000 miles, generally doing 10-30 miles/ride.

This seat can be extremely comfortable, and for the price, is definitely a good deal. Most riders will certainly get their money's worth.

Many of the other negative reviews on here describe exactly what I noticed with this seat before I adjusted it properly, which takes a lot of trial and error. Because it is so soft, when you depress it, you don't end up exactly where you expect to, so you may end up aligning it a different position than you think you initially should. For me, I had to tilt it back about 10 degrees from level. After that, it was EXTREMELY comfortable. I can ride 50 miles and feel quite cozy.

The negatives I see with this are durability related. The outer fabric is pretty cheap, and after getting it wet with sweat or rain, it will eventually pull free of the inner, rubberrized layers. You'll start to see "blisters" in the fabric, and soon after, the covering will tear free. I think what causes this is that the Schwinn logo on the side is a bit sticky and will tug on the cover as your shorts slide over it. The other is that the seat is a bit wide for a road bike (good for a mountain bike) which may cause you to pinch the front of the seat with your thighs as you peddle.

If you are looking into other options, I would recommend the Nashbar 2x Sport Saddle for a few dollars more. It is very similar to this one but narrower, more rounded, and more durable. It is however, not as soft as this one, which may be good or bad for you.

In summary:

Pros: This saddle is among the most comfortable you can find for under $75 (once adjusted properly).

Cons: Durability questionable over time. A bit heavy compared to "serious" road bike seats.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  I LOVE this seat!, November 20, 2006
By Shirley (Orlando, FL)
This is the most comfortable bike seat I have ever sat on, much better than the Butterfly Tri gel seat I bought for about $100 and never used. I have one on my tri bike, on my beat-around mountain bike and will be buying another one for a new road bike I'm getting.

During a local 2006 century ride, I saw another woman with the same Schwinn seat on her road bike and we both agreed that this seat is the best!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome Schwinn Bicycle Seat!!!, September 12, 2006
By Tiffany (Pennsylvania, United States)
I have been looking around for a bicycle seat to ride on rough trails. The one my bike came with was not cutting it. ;) I ended up choosing this one, because of the 'give' in the narrow part of the seat. I thought it would create more comfort. I put it on that night and went riding. Not only was it more comfortable, but there was a bounce to it, so when you went over rocky trails, it didn't hurt to hit the seat on the way down! I'm a satisfied customer! :)

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Didn't relieve the numbness issues, June 12, 2007
By Doggie (St. Louis, MO USA)
I was looking for a seat that would relieve pressure in the perineum area. This seat did not relieve the "numb n@#s" syndrome that bothers many male riders - I still had numbness in the genital area after riding on this seat. I'm not sure why they call it an ergonomic seat except for marketing purposes.
It's probably not a bad seat if you are just looking for a padded, adjustable, and economical straight replacement.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable seat, May 14, 2007
By Dana A. Nuccitelli (West Sacramento, CA USA)
This is definitely a good comfortable seat. I recently biked for 38 miles in one day (approximately 3 hours) and my rear was just starting to get a little sore at the very end. The gel padding is very nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Back in the saddle again!, August 10, 2008
By JargonTalk (Bucks County, PA USA)
Let's face it, bike seats do wear out over time. Even the most expensive saddles are going to break down over time, and even with a premium gel seat from five or six years ago, you're going to feel the pain in that "important area" when you take a drop with an XC bike or bump a curb with a street cruiser.

If you look carefully at the photos of this Schwinn Adult Ergonomic Bicycle Saddle you'll see that it has a cut-out center relief zone in just the right area. From a personal perspective this rider found that the "love channel" section works like a champ, and after riding for a couple of hours I found that my backside wasn't sore and my crotch never felt like it was numb or falling asleep.

Do keep in mind that any saddle, regardless of price, has to be adjusted to the individual rider, and it might take a day or two (or three) to do this. Carry your simple adjustment tools with you and you can do it while you're riding, and you'll find the investment of time will pay off in riding comfort.

Also worthy of consideration is the well-made Planet Bike Men's A.R.S. Anatomic Relief Bicycle Saddle, a similar product with a slightly different though quite comfortable and sharp looking.

It almost seems that a bike saddle of this price shouldn't be given any more than a 4-star rating, as there are some great gel seats out there that cost a lot more. On the other hand, once this saddle is adjusted properly, it's a 5-star ride, and that's what counts. It's well-made, and highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Not so ergonomic..., July 5, 2008
By J. Joker Jr. (CT USA)
The best thing about this seat is its sleek and stylish appearance - I was liking it quite a lot until I actually sat on it. I know a lot of people have liked this seat - that's why I tried it - but for me and my bike which lacks any rear or seat suspension, this is a very uncomfortable seat. I'm a pretty large guy, and it could just be that it is a bit too narrow, but it felt hard, and caused pain in the sensitive area after just a couple miles for me.

A couple reviewers said that the adjustment made a difference, so I tried several different adjustments - but to no avail. It just didn't work out for me.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Okay for the price...especially if you're skinny!, September 16, 2009
By Dobiegal
I bought this saddle for an old Pacific road bike that I am transforming into the ultimate comfort/hybrid bike! :) I wanted a saddle that is comfy but not too wide. I previously had a Schwinn cruiser seat that was too wide for me and rubbed my chubby little thighs. I am 5'3" and weigh 190 lbs. As such, I wanted to find a saddle that is not too wide or too narrow and has some cushion AND didn't cost a fortune. I paid $17.00 and change for this saddle. The seat is attractive and for me the perfect width. It has a nice firm 'squishy' feel and surprisingly does absorb the shock pretty well considering it has no springs. However, before long I can feel my seat bones pressing on the seat's rails, which really starts to hurt. My bo'om is ready to stop riding long before the rest of me, which is not beneficial to helping me to burn off the excess pounds, which is the reason I wanted to get a bike. A minor complaint is that the Schwinn emblems on the sides of the saddle began to rub off after the first ride. This seat may work well for someone who is lighter, but if you're heavy, I would recommend that you do some more shopping.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  It's no Lazy Boy,, May 3, 2007
By Libby (CA)
but it's much more comfortable than the stock seat on my Trek 4500. I'm new to riding, and my pelvic bones need all the encouragement they can get to stay out on the trail. This seat has helped me ignore some of the discomfort that comes with learning any new sport. I don't slide around at all while I'm on it, and installation took about 20 minutes.
I wonder if it would be overkill to buy a Bell gel seat to go on top of this saddle....?

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Too soft an a litle uncomfotable, February 17, 2007
By JUAN P. (COLOMBIA S.A)
Recently I bought the Schwinn Adult Ergonomic Saddle. It is not as comfortable as the manufacturer describes. Is too soft, so it is difficult to keep the position on the saddle while you are riding, you have to ajust your buttock position all the time. Now I know why it is so cheap.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Swhwinn Bicycle Saddle, April 18, 2008
By Rich K. (SJ, CA)
I decided that after 6 years it was probably a good time to replace the seat on my Sorrento mountain bike. The original seat created no real comfort problems, but I just assumed that the gel had lost a little bit of its shock absorption ability. After a little research on the net I decided to give the Schwinn Adult Ergonomic Bike seat a try. Initially, it was a bit uncomfortable, but I attributed it to a break-in period. Now after about 20 hours of use the discomfort continues and I am putting my old seat back on. Although the name Schwinn brings back found memories of the bikes of my youth, I can not recommend this seat.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice seat, July 23, 2007
By Stay at home mom (Arlington, VA)
I lost my other comfy seat - much larger - transporting my bike. I saw this one and decided to try it after reading the reviews. I ride anywhere from 10 miles to 35 miles. It is a lot better on the shorter rides - up to 20 miles. But even on the longer rides it is still really comfortable considering I am on it over 2 hour. You can not beat the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfort and economy - a great combination!, October 10, 2008
By J. Wilson (Richmond, VA)
pros: comfortable, standard installation, easy to adjust, inexpensive
cons:

This seat is super comfortable. I had a chance to take a trip on a very uncomfortable saddle recently and have come to appreciate my Schwinn saddle even more. I've used it almost daily for my 8 mile (x2) commute since I started biking 3 months ago. I just took it on my first real ride - 33 miles. Toward the end I was experiencing numbness which may have been avoided by moving the front of the saddle down a bit but overall I had a great ride thanks to this saddle! For comparison's sake I'm height/weight proportionate and wear chamois bike shorts when I ride. I have virtually no rear end, so I need all the cushioning I can get!

I can see where durability may be an issue in a year or two or five, but I'm willing to deal with the minor hassle of buying a new saddle sooner should that happen.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Too much pain for me!, November 1, 2009
By Laurie (Alexandria, VA)
I read all the reviews on this product and felt this was going to be the seat that would help me ride for miles and miles without the pain and numbness. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I am still having difficulty sitting after riding with this seat and have had to go back to the original seat for my bike. :-(

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Over Rated, November 16, 2008
By Joseph Brown (St. Louis, MO.)
OK...it's better than a lot out there on the market. But, it still doesn't stack up to what I usually install on the older road bikes I refurbish & sell. What I usually buy is an Avenir Groove Dual Saddle. I bought one of these at my local K-Mart to save a couple of bucks. I wish I would've spent the few extra bucks for the Avenir Saddle. Bottom line...it's OK, but not great.Avenir Groove Dual Saddle (Black/Grey, Groove Dual (M)) Avenir Groove Dual Saddle (Black/Grey, Groove Dual (W))

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Schwinn Bike Seat, September 27, 2008
By Windows 7 Hooked (Phoenix)
While I haven't had this seat quite as long as several of the riders doing reviews on it, one thing that became immediately apparent to me was it is one of the most uncomfortable seats I have every ridden if not properly adjusted!
That being said, I really have to state that with taking the time to properly adjust the seat it is really a great seat and quite comfortable. Like a couple of other people mentioned, it does take a bit of time and a few trial & error attempts to get it just right. At least it did for me. I just took my seat adjustment wrenches with me and stopped and adjusted till I got it right. It was well worth the effort as it is now a pleasure to ride.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  So much better!, June 12, 2008
By Joseph J. Furco
The "stock" seat that came with my road bike was not very comfy. Put this guy on and it made a huge difference. Way, way better. For a baseline, I am a super-novice. My bicycling experience stopped with my driver's license 15 years ago. With a job relocation, I am about 10 miles from work and use it to commute a few times a week on a road bike. What used to be a relatively painful event for my behind is now pretty darn good. I can easily say this seat is perfect for my needs, and it doesn't even get hot in the sun like my old seat. It's a good fit and makes biking so much more enjoyable that I am now more inclined to ride than I was before this seat. BTW, I have not used biking shorts so I am interested to see how much softer everything will be once I go that route.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Perhaps mine was a dud?, October 7, 2010
By A. Scheffey
I love schwinn, and the ergonomic style and comfort of this bike really sold me. Unfortunately, either due to the metal stamping process or the layer of paint on the metal post-attachments my saddle was extremely dangerous. This seat uses saddle clamps which are serrated to adjust and lock the angle of the seat. My third day riding (after logging about 30+ miles on the saddle) the clamp slipped, causing my weight to bring the back of the saddle down and the nose up, and effectively leaving me hanging! I pulled over but I didn't have a big enough wrench to loosen and tighten the bolt to readjust the seat.

The next day I brought the wrench with my on my commute and THANK GOD because despite taking the clamp apart and putting it back together carefully (to make sure it wasn't user error) the saddle slipped two more times in the span of an hour. All the slipping and metal stripped has effectively ruined the clamp. The seat itself is fine, but the metal workings of the clamp are shot so I had to return it.

Just be careful about initial installation!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  No better seat available at even a close price, July 29, 2010
By koreywithak
I've had this seat for about 7 years. For anyone (especially guys) who ride a bike a lot, you simply must get an ergonomic one with the middle section open. I put 40-60 miles on my bike per week, so a good seat is important. You won't understand the difference until biking with one. This seat is amazingly comfortable. It is foam, not gel, but I actually like this better. It has withstood much use. Now, the material has come unsewn at the back. I love it so much I was about to sew it back, but I looked online and this seat is $16! I'll buy a few backups for that price. Before looking online, at the bike store today I bought a similar one for $70 made by Serfas. I still like this Schwinn one more and I'm going to return the Serfas and this same Schwinn. You'd be silly not to buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent choice regardless of the price, April 13, 2010
By DP (Los Angeles, CA)
I ordered 2 of these for my kids' bikes. I was very impressed with the item right out of the box. The design is very high tech and sturdy, yet soft enough. I have not seen seats like these installed on any new bikes. They exceed standard bike seat quality. The installation was very easy and took a few minutes. In our case I did not need to make any adjustments and they both went in at the correct angle the first time. I tested both bikes with the new seats and was very impressed with the exact comfort. The kids love them too. I highly recommend this item and at this price I don't think you can go wrong. The only word of caution would be that someone else complained it was too small for them. I think for a standard-weight person there shouldn't be any such issue.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Amazon does it again!!!!, October 5, 2009
By Never2late (St. Joseph, Missouri)
I bought this seat after trying the add-on gel type seat covers. This works much better. It isn't too soft but still alot more comfortable than the stock saddle you get on you average new bike. I've used it for one season and it has been great! No signs of wear to speak of...unless you're attached to the schwinn logo on the lycra part....it was gone, almost immediately. So ....I like this saddle and actually ordered one for one of my friends, she also thought it made a world of difference.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Schwinn ergonomic saddle, June 16, 2009
By Gregory M. Harvey
What a wonderful seat! I have used many different seats over the years, and none have been as comfortable as this one. I usually ride 25 miles or more at a time (plenty of time to get sore), and this seat has yet to cause me any issues at all. Properly adjusted this seat is as good as they get IMO. I have a different "ergonomic" seat on my other bike, and while it is decent, it is no where near as nice as this one. Seems to wick away moisture as well.

I bought this to reduce irritation of the genito-urinary tract. It works pretty well but it is so firm that my butt was aching. I had to modify a foam bike seat pad to make it usable. If you have more meaty butt than I it will probably be great for you.

This seat was Ok...probably best for quick, bumpy rides on a mountain trail. But it still hurt my butt pretty bad when I did 25 miles on the road, with a 30 lb. backpack on. I will invest in a more cushioned seat for my 225 ride across Missouri.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome, July 27, 2011
By Ultimasphynx (Houston, TX)
I was having alot of fatigue after an hour of riding with my stock schwinn seat and figured after a dozen or so rides i need something new. I can't even begin to explain how well this seat has helped. I can now ride 2+ hours with little to no fatigue at all. I really can enjoy riding alot more just from this minor upgrade. Mostly I ride on the street with a few trails in-between through parks. I would recommend this to anyone needing a more comfortable seat that is still small enough to not get in the way.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  need better design or material, June 2, 2011
By M. Lien (Nashville, TN United States)
I was pleased initially b/c it is much better than my worn out 20 yr old saddle. However, possibly due to cheap material.. the seat area where my pelvic bone sat sank lower than the front which applied pressure in areas where I prefer relief. This happened with just one short 14 mile test ride. I will not recommend this to anyone else unless you just want a cheap seat for maybe a 5 mile or less stroll once in a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfort for the long ride..., December 20, 2010
By J. Acre
I put this seat on my Trek bike the night before leaving on a long ride. I rode with 3 of my children from Niagara Falls, NY to Oshkosh, WI in 6 days, averaging about 90 miles per day. I hadn't rode much before leaving so my legs got sore on the ride but my back-side did not - I would highly recommend this seat for the other "over-forty" riders looking for comfort.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  My butt is happy so I am happy :D, October 15, 2010
By J. Blair (Atlanta, GA)
I just started getting into Mountain biking and the seat on my bike was pretty stiff and small. After my first time out riding the next day it hurt to sit down, the area between my manly parts and butt was killing me. I looked around on Amazon for a basic cheap seat with good review and saw this was the best choice. The next time out I was still a little sore from the last time but I noticed a huge difference in softness going over roots and rocks. Now I don't even get sore anymore and I ride harder than ever.

The bracket that came with it wasn't for my bike, but seats seem to be pretty universal so all I had to do was remove the mounting bracket from my old seat and put it on this one.

All in all this was a great purchase and my buddies already went ahead and ordered theirs too.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Cant beat the price or comfort, October 2, 2010
By fierodoug
For very little money, this seat is WAY better than the seat that came with my bike. It is soft, but not to soft and has been very comfy even after a 10 mile ride. Also a good looking seat. The fabric does'nt look very durable, but time will tell. For the few bucks it costs it is well worth it, and your butt will be happy you bought it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great, affordable seat, July 25, 2010
By K. Shea (Glenville, NY USA)
I just purchased my third Schwinn Adult Ergonomic Bicycle Saddle to replace a much more expensive Fizik leather saddle. I bought my first one over five years ago. Since then, I have purchased and installed them on my LifeCycle, Kestrel road bike and now, Gary Fisher mountain bike. After using one of my bikes with the Schwinn saddle, my brother bought one to replace his Trek saddle. It's cheap, relatively light, and more comfortable than any of the numerous other saddles I have suffered through. Just buy it. Your privates will thank you.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Value, July 15, 2010
By Dunbar M (Southern California)
Honestly, anyone who knows bikes will tell you the saddle/seats are not one size fits all affairs so YMMV. That being said I bought a performance hybrid and the stock saddle was horribly uncomfortable. This was the first saddle I tried and I'd say it's about 95% comfortable. It's not quite as comfortable as the stock saddle on my comfort bike but for the price I can't complain. The only downside is the aesthetics, this thing is not going to help your bike look sexier (quite the opposite.)

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Schwinn ergonomic bike sabble, July 13, 2009
By kevin (eldersburg, md United States)
I don't ride much, but wanted to do more. I bought this seat to make it more comfortable to start riding. It isn't as comfortable as I was hoping, but I think I just need to get used to riding.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Pleasantly surprised, May 22, 2009
By J. Isaacs
I was not expecting to get such a good bike seat at this price. I originally purchased a Planet Bike seat at 3 times the cost, but this one blew it away - my wife graciously gave it to me to use on my bike. The color is strictly black and silver, not the purplish haze color in the picture. The width is just perfect for your sit-bones and narrows nicely between the thighs so that there is no rubbing or friction. The padding is outstanding. I would venture that it has gel (the attached info with the seat indicated so), but if it doesn't, it sure feels like it does. I have taken it out for 10-15 mile rides and felt great after, with no numbness, coldness, or any other after-ride soreness in my nether regions. I highly recommend the saddle.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Soft but small, January 27, 2009
By Kent J. Nelson (CoonRapids, MN)
This bike seat is very soft and well made. The reasone I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is due to the width of the seat. For larger riders this seat is very narrow. I found the stock seat on my Schwinn Ridge AL bike to be more comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  great for cloth and price, November 29, 2008
By kinetikaitlin
Absolutely great once I got it adjusted properly. I ride about 10 miles commuting every day of the week. It's cloth so it absorbs water in the rain. But that's really my own complaint. It's quite comfortable and very good for my back once I figure out where I needed it to be. For the price(!) I would highly recommend it... Very good value.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Happy bottom, September 2, 2008

This is a great seat for men. It supports the bottom but does not put pressure on the genitals. This might sound funny but it was exactly what I was looking for.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Seat, July 18, 2008
By A. Meyer (New York, NY)
The seat that my bike came with was the usual HARD and UNCOMFORTABLE for long rides. I purchased this seat based on reviews and the price. Good value for the price. Makes long rides much easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very Comfortable seat, May 29, 2008
By fellow bike rider (NY)
Just started getting into riding, after awhile I noticed that my thighs were killing me from the standard seat. So I started looking around and found this seat to be really intresting, specially with the "relief zone." As soon as I started riding I noticed a difference, I was really impressed on how comfortable it was, and that the relief zone actually works. Definitly a upgrade from the standard seat, I am not a bike expert, but this is definilty worth getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Say goodbye to pain!, May 23, 2008
By S. Fang (Ohio, USA)
This seat is a must for guys, especially if you go on long rides! The center groove relieves the pressure, it's so comfortable. I ride 45 miles every week and never felt uncomfortable! This is probably one of the best investments I've ever made to my bike

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfy seat, May 21, 2008
By DaMaDo (Miami, FL)
It's very comfortable and looks like a quality seat. I usually bike about 20 miles at a time and have no problems with it.

I just removed the mounting brackets it came with and used the ones already on my bike from my old seat.

By cpup22 (San Francisco, CA USA)
I've been using this seat for a few months now riding my bike into and home from work every day. I love it!! My butt got a little sore at first but it's way better than the default one that comes with a new bike. I'd recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  I love this bike seat! The most comfortable seat I have found., June 10, 2007
By Online Shopper
I love this seat! This was my 3rd purchase in the quest for a comfortable bike seat. The gel seat that came with my Novara Piedra Mountain bike was decent, but I couldn't ride more than 20 miles due to discomfort. So I bought an expensive high end saddle which I liked....but it didn't have the Gel I needed to prevent me from going numb on long rides. So I tried a nose-less Gel seat, which eliminated the pain in my crotch area....but was very uncomfortable on my rear. (The nose-less also made it hard for me to stay on the bike down trail hills). Then I tried this Schwinn Ergonomic seat and it's a winner. I recently biked 30 miles with no problems. I am ordering another one for my husband!

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not for me, April 4, 2009
By cherimoya love
This seat has great reviews and a great price, so I picked it up. It arrived a few minutes ago and I'm returning it... It is a little soft, and I like the rails. But it is the same width as my stock seat so it still puts all the pressure on the same two, very sore spots on my wide bottom.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Highly recommended., August 31, 2011
By Krzysztof Cyganik (New York)
If you are looking for a bike seat that will be as comfortable as your couch, this saddle is not for you simply because such product doesn't exist. However if you want upgrade a comfort level from generic saddle, and sit on a gelly / high density foam you won't be disappointed. I've been using it for over a year, and can say that despite its low price it is a quality product. My commute is 16miles/day and I never feel any pain related to the saddle. Just remember that if you are not used to riding a bike on regular basis your bum will hurt for a short time no matter what saddle you have. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great seat for the price., August 22, 2011
By Turbofan (Orem, UT, USA)
This is a short-term review, as I've only had maybe 3 or 4 rides with this seat. That being said, this seat is very comfortable and supportive. It is large enough that you can sit on it without feeling like it will pierce your nether regions, but it is small enough to allow plenty of maneuverability -- it won't get in your way. I can tell that the material isn't the highest quality, and one might be proactive and find a way to protect the seat from potential mishaps.

The mounting hardware that comes with the seat is garbage and should be thrown away. Since you'll be putting this on an existing bike, just use the hardware that comes on your bike, especially if it's a decent bike and not a Kmart bike. I used the standard hardware on my bike (old used Gary Fisher Wahoo) and the seat hasn't budged. It's very comfortable, and you just absolutely can't beat the price. When you look at what else you can get for $16, or even $25, there's not much that even comes close. It seems to me that to get a better seat you'd have to spend upwards of $35 or $40.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Bike seat, August 20, 2011
By quilter2010
I am happy with this seat. I think I need to adjust the angle again. I was using a seat that is twenty years old and worn out. This seat is such an improvement. I bike to work about three miles one way. I am new to biking to work so it takes me about thirty minutes. This seat is great.

In the attached video, I'm showing you the design of this saddle, as well as a summary of my thoughts on this saddle.

Here's my written review:

Design:

* On the top, there's a small opening for ventilation. I wished it was a little bit bigger, but it's not a big deal.
* Down the middle towards the back, there's a gap about an inch and half wide. It provides additional ventilation.
* The foam itself is very thick, cushioned, and very comfortable.
* The lacing, construction, and synthetic leather all feels very tight and durable.

Installation was very quick. This saddle comes with a bolt and two nuts.

Performance:

* I've used this for a 20 mile bike ride and it has served me well. It has given me immediate relief and more comfort during rides.
* While it does let you lean forward, the construction and height of this saddle is ideal for upright riders.
* My "butt bone" pain has almost vanished.

Overall, this is a great value saddle that has a durable design and is comfortable. Happy biking!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good ride, December 9, 2011
By J. Gorman (Arlington Heights, IL)
Picked this up to sub out the seat that came with my bicycle.

I'm a riding novice, so I can only speak from a new-rider angle. After building up a natural endurance for riding a bicycle for an extended period of time, I found it to be a solid upgrade for my bike.

Any issues I thought I was having with the seat were resolved when I adjusted the height/angle to better fit my personal build.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Not so ergonomic to me., September 6, 2010
By vlad (CA)
Didn't fit my body requirements. Now, I don't feel there is much wrong with my anatomy there :-), as I am not heavy, just, maybe have somewhat wide body frame. After few miles over asphalt, this seat felt notably worse that standard comfort seat, that came with older inexpensive bike from Costco, that I borrowed for comparison... that other seat was good enough for me, but I still have to let my son continue using it.
Schwinn seat feels too narrow and too soft, so after a short while my body sets down against the harder internal parts of the seat and starts hurting, so I am returning it. Maybe it fits well someone really lightweight and narrow-framed, not my case.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfort boney bottom, May 14, 2012
By media fan (USA)
I'm a skinny 160# 6-ft fellow, and found this seat much more comfortable than my stock Schwinn seat on my old 10-spd mountain bike. I'm pretty used to monkeying around with bike parts, so setting it up was pretty easy. For the money, I cannot imagine that I could have done much better. Happy customer!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great replacement seat., May 6, 2012
By bciocco (Charleston, SC)
I took a spill on my bike and cracked the original seat. I purchased this seat as a replacement and it is much more comfortable. I have been using it almost two years and am still pleased with it. The only downside is the fabric cover. I don't ride in the rain, but we do transport our bikes on a rack sometimes. If it is raining, the seat will absorb water. Be sure to cover it with a plastic bag.
I couldn't ask for more in a replacement seat. I do consider it a slight upgrade from the original.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Too Thin, April 17, 2012
By Zavia (USA)
Not a great guys seat. 5"10 220lb
Looked like a good seat in theory, but it is just as thin as the seat my bike came with. Yes its soft, but if your doing some decent cruising its still going to not give you all around support I bought another seat at the same time for my wife the "Schwinn Pillow Top Cruiser Bicycle Seat" and it was far more comfortable and highly recommended.

Install was easy, but i did have to tighten it down really well to get rid of a bit of a back forth wobble.
