nice job for a small fork pump, May 13, 2007
By T. Nguyen

very easy to use. able to inflate up to 300psi. small/compact size is a plus. rotating hose lets you pump at practically any angle. there's also an air release button to fine adjust your pressures.

Works Great, June 7, 2010
By Louis (Kansas City, MO)

Just got my first full-suspension mountain bike (with my first air-sprung fork), so I needed a shock pump. This one works quite well. I'm very pleased with its ease of use, construction and small size. Worked like a champ on my shock and fork. Only minor complaint is the dial numbers are a bit small and hard to see. But I realize this is a small pump and there is only so much area to work with (and my eyesight isn't what it used to be... I would still highly recommend this pump.

3 stars with positive explaination!!!, February 23, 2006
By Joni (Lincolndale, NY, United States)

This was a gift for my nephew, so I really can't personally review it. However, he seems perfectly happy with the pump and it arrived at his home within 3 or days from the order!!! No problems. Sorry I can't say more about the product itself, but I haven't even seen it since he doesn't live near me. But it was exactly what he had requested!

Not Satisfied, March 24, 2011
By Joshua M. Pond
|

I bought this for my 2011 Recon Gold front fork and it did not work. Had major issues with trying to get air into the fork, needless to say I was disappointed with this product. Perhaps it wasn't designed for my fork or I got a flawed one, I dunno, try you luck if you have the extra money.

Great little pump for my chopper shocks!, May 10, 2011
By Sam Porter (Albuquerque, NM, US)
|
|
I bought this little pump for the Progressive Airtail shocks I installed on my chopper. I needed something that would fit in a tool roll, had 150lb gauge, and didnt' take up much room. This fit the bill perfectly. The tip hose screws onto the valve stem and then you can screw the hose into the tip so you don't lose any air while installing. It also has a relief valve that makes fine tuning the pressure very easy. It also cost half of what Harley and other motorcycle brands sell hand pumps for. Three thumbs up!

Rubber Tube Busted, November 13, 2011
By Mike

|
The pump tube busted after two uses. The first time I used this on a Fox Shox, it worked flawlessly. The second time I use this to fine tune my road bike tire pressure, the rubber tube make a loud poping sound and was busted.

Really difficult to screw on, August 4, 2011
By pH (San Francisco, USA)
|
|
This pump has a nifty system for attaching to a schrader valve. There's an outer sleeve that contains the seal, you screw this on first. Then you screw in an inner plunger by turning a knurled ring behind the first sleeve, this breaks the seal of the schrader valve.
Removing the pump from the valve is the reverse procedure, first retracting the plunger, then releasing the seal. The beauty of this system is that you don't lose any air from the shock as you are unscrewing the pump.
The failing is that because the outer sleeve and inner plunger have to seal to each other, and to the hose between them and the pump body, the inner plunger is REALLY DIFFICULT TO TURN. I'm talking painful, frustrating, sweating, tiring, try the other hand hard to turn. I dread using this pump.
(And before you say "Well, just thread them on together...." you must still turn the inner plunger part to break the seal, so this approach is no easier.)

the best shock pump, August 1, 2011
By Colin Locke (Wichita, Kansas USA)
|
|
I borrowed shock pumps from my Local Bike Shop & friends and was never very satisfied. They were hard to read the gauge, hard to thread on / off, leaked when you removed them, and so on.
This little guy is perfect. The swivel allows you to position the whole thing vertically if your air valve is in a tight spot, like the crown of the fork. (It's there on my Cannondale/Magura Headshok.) You just spin the whole thing to thread on and off... works beautifully.
My only complaint is that since it supports up to 300 psi and I need to use more like 70-90, it is a little hard to read the dial and judge the difference between 75 psi and 80. That said, the stroke volume is so low that you can add a little pressure at a time and get exactly what you want.

Does what it should, July 5, 2011
By Christopher Graham (Rochester, NY USA)
|
|
Not much to say about this product as it does exactly what it should and as advertised. It's small, has a gauge, easy to pump. The only trick is to use the check valve as instructed. Screw on the connector (very end), then screw down the check valve to engage (between main connector and hose), pump to desired pressure, unscrew check valve but not main connector, then unscrew main connector. You won't lose any pressure. Sometimes I find the check valve difficult to screw/unscrew without the entire pump spinning but that's minor.

Hose Busted, June 21, 2011
By Ken
|
|
I used the shock one time to air up my rear shock. The pump is very small and has no leverage making the pump a pain to use and the hose busted when I was at 200 psi. Next time I will go with a brand like Fox or Rockshox.

Works like a charm =), May 3, 2011
By Dennis

Ordered and received the item in great condition (unlike the other item that came with it). I used this for the Suntour Epicon which usually comes really stiff. True enough the fork was at 120psi. I easily increased and decreased the pressure with the air release button and the pump, to my liking. I'm happy with this product =)

Good for Motorcycle Tires Also, April 26, 2011
By Angie (Tampa, Florida United States)
|
|
I use this to check the tire pressure on my motorcycle tires. It is a little tricky getting the valve on the tire plug. But, once I get it on, I can see where the tire pressure is within seconds. And, I don't have to worry about pumping forever. The maximum tire pressure recommended on my tires is 28.

Simply functional, February 14, 2011
By Skawt01 (Northern CA USA)
|
|
Not much hype to this gizmo. It's very simple to use and functions as designed. It's well built and looks like it'll last quite some time if it is treated kindly. I used it to top off an exercise ball too, which took a huge amount of patience, but this pump isn't designed for balls/tires/anything other than a shock. But, for its intended use, this pump will serve you well.

Great for low pressure tires, January 29, 2011
By Jeannie Marie (Idaho)
|
|
After trying the pump out on my TerraTrike I found that it works great but because of the size you wouldn't want to pump up a tire from out of the box. If you happen to have a flat on the road you would have no choice, but to keep your tires at pressure I think it is perfect. The dial is a little hard to read to be precise but you can get in the general area of pressure. All in all I like the produce and it will fit in my small utility bag just fine.

Topeak Pock Shock DXG Bike Pump review, November 6, 2010
By Jim
|
|
I needed a reliable shock pump for my mountain bike. After a little research I found that this one came highly recommended. The things I like about it are that you can use it without losing any air when taking it off the valve; it works easily and is effective and most importantly, it is light weight and fits within my backpack.
Great shock pump.

Forget the others, I have owned several, this is the best I have found for my MTB shock. Very little air loss when removing and handy button to release pressure as needed.

What can i saw, it's tiny and it works. The screw tip is kind of a pain, but it's typical with shock pumps.

Best shock pump available, March 29, 2012
By Marquis (SoCal)

The two step valve that eliminates leaking on disconnect is the best idea I've ever seen in a shock pump. You can set your shock/fork air EXACTLY where you want it and be confident that's what you'll have upon disconnecting the pump. The best shock pump I've seen, by far.

Does the job well, February 13, 2012
By gjpv (Philippines)
|
|
I bought this pump because I do not want the hassle of going to my local bike shop just to have my air fork checked for correct air pressure. The pumps way of isolating its hose from the fork's valve ensures no leakage of air. Aesthetic-wise, I like the yellow/black dial gauge. I bought this one from a local bike shop here in the Philippines.

Shock pump that keeps the air in, February 2, 2012
By Melody
|
|
Very nice shock pump, using a genius system it will not loose air when removing it from your shock. The build looks to be very solid and the only complaint I have is that with such a nice product that relies on precision I would have liked them to include a carrying case for storing in a gear bag or camel bak for those long trips, even if it did bring a higher price.
I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a very precise shock psi that's tired of losing psi when removing the pump from the shock.

Pumped Up, January 28, 2012
By Jasper (Langhorne, PA USA)
|
|
I ordered this pump after going for several cold temperature rides and my front suspension fork seemed to have lost its 'bounce'. Sure enough, both negative and positive chambers in my Rock Shox Reba were lower than recommended for my weight. The pump was received within a couple of days form Amazon (still don't know how they do it), was a good price, and pump quality was better than expected after reading some of the reviews. The dual locking valve attachment worked perfectly and maintained the chamber pressure at the exact level that I set it at. I kept tweaking the pressure after 4 or 5 test rides and the pressure was exactly where previously set each time. The air release button also came in very handy. Bottom line, highly recommended for keeping your MTB ride behaving properly on the trails.

My pump was extremly poor quality, April 11, 2012
By Tob

|
After 15 yrs of using shock pumps I recently bought this model. Used it first time on a Fox Float RP-23 and the hose connecting pump and shock did burst in a loud bang. Like fireworks, but right next to your ear. Not funny, potentially dangerous.
I usually like to get a lot of bang for the buck, but maybe not with my shock pump. Topeak delivered a lot of bang, and thanks to Amazon I got my bucks back.
