MUST HAVE BAG, July 25, 2007
By J. Thigpen (West Des Moines, IA.)
|
|
Great bag . . . looks good, simple "fixer" bracket is easy to install (bag goes on and off in a couple of seconds), easily expands to hold more of that important stuff (like snacks/tools/tubes,etc) and holds my Topeak Road Morph pump securly in the special, underseat loops.
Secure attachment, no sway and quality construction makes this a must have bag.
I bought a large and a medium so I could fit the bag to the ride.
NOTE: MY BAG IS STILL GOING STRONG IN 2010.

Nice bag, but flimsy plastic clip., August 29, 2007
By M. VanCamp (Michigan)
|
|
Having several Topeak packs, I was expecting this to be of the same quality and was disappointed. The bag itself is great, but the fixer clip broke as I was removing the bag from the clip to install for the first time...very flimsy, in my opinion, as I wasn't using any undue force. Also, the bag is a bit large for my WSD bike. I plan to purchase a smaller Topeak pack with a velcro attachment instead.

Large and easy to attach, June 2, 2007
By Michael Wagner (Chardon, OH)
|
|
Although a little more expensive than the bags at wally-world, this bag is made very well and was larger than I expected. The fixer also allows the bag to be removed very easily. I definitely feel that it was a good buy.

Great overall saddle pack - I use for road cycling, December 12, 2008
By C. Halos (Tacoma, WA)
|
|
This saddle pack is fantastic. It's perfect for me - a road cyclist who doesn't want the added weight/hassle of a bike rack, but doesn't want to have to carry items in my jersey pockets, either. There is PLENTY of room in this pack for most anything you'd need to carry. Here is a list of what I am currently storing in this pack:
*Louis Garneau helmet cover
*2 spare road tubes
*Performance Bike tube repair kit
*Crank Bros Multi-17 tool
*Pedro's tire levers
*LG enV2 cell phone w/ silicon case
*Canon Powershot SD1100 IS digital camera in Samsonite case
*Thin wallet
*2 Clif Bars
I don't even have the expansion zippers opened, so the pack is in its "compact" state. A few other thoughts:
*The attachment system works great. I currently have the pack fastened with the seatpost strap and the saddle rail quick release clip. The combination holds both securely in place, and my pack can be removed or attached in less than 10 seconds. Also, when I'm riding, I don't have to worry about the zipper coming unzipped, and the pack doesn't rattle or make annoying noises.
*The reflectors on the pack are a nice touch to increase visibility
*The rear strap is a nice touch and holds my Planet Bike Superflash taillight perfectly.
Conclusion: Buy this pack if you want a lot of storage space compared to comparable saddle packs, and you don't want to worry about the zippers rattling loose or the pack falling off your seat. After reviewing plenty of saddle packs in stores, I took a leap of faith and bought this one based off amazon.com reviews - I'm not at all disappointed!

GOOD BAG. BAD FIT, August 30, 2007
By JOHN HETSCH
|
|
THIS IS A WELL MADE BAG, BUT THE FIXER MUST BE MADE FOR A DIFFERENT SADDLE THAN MINE. IT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT FIT ON MY SADDLE. I BROKE THE FIXER TRYING TO MAKE IT FIT. I WILL JACK-LEG SOME OTHER TYPE OF METHOD TO FASTEN IT ON. THE IDEA IS GOOD, BUT THE FIT IS BAD.

Bad design on clip, June 16, 2010
By M. Hopken (Kansas City, MO)
|
|
I have owned two of these bags. The first bag broke 4 miles into it's first ride. Amazon warrentied. The second one broke 3 months afterwards. Both broke along the clip area of the top of the bag. Really bad design.
In the past, I have loved Topeak products, but not with this product. Seems the clip cannot withstand a load of a tube, plastic tire tools, a hex wrench and a CO2 cartridge.
Bought an Eleven81 bag with the clip to replace the product and have been very happy. The clip mounts easily, and is stout! Simple mounting with hex screw and has a metal backing where it attaches to the seat. Good quality bag as well. Where the Topeak would rub my legs from under the seat, the Eleven81 does not. The only difference I have found is that the Topeak has a net area on the fold our area of the zipper and the Eleven81 does not.
Buy the Eleven81. Don't buy the Topeak.

item is poor quality do not buy, January 12, 2010
By Benjamin Haradon-keane
|
|
the pack is large and can fit a lot in it but the weight is too much and the two thin strips of plastic that hold all the weight break. the first time i bought the pouch it broke after about 2 miles the second one lasted about a week, amazon was very good and replaced the first and gave me my money back on the second but i would recommend you do not waste your time and just go with the Velcro.

Topeak Aero Wedge pack Large, September 13, 2008
By Ronald Gmiterek (Tres St-Redempteur, Quebec Canada)
|
|
I had purchased a few months back the medium size of this product, and it was a great product for little short rides to have. Kept wallet, cell phone, repair tools and a tube. But that was it, when I wanted to bring snacks or other little things, I had to use my MTX bike rack (a lot bigger). I was just too much for the little extras that I was bringing (unless I needed a rain coat, extra shirt, shoes, etc...).
I purchased the large bag, and wow, it made a huge difference, I can actually put double of what the medium took, and I still can remove it very quickly. This is a great product when you are doing small to medium size rides on your bike and don't want to bring your whole wardrobe. I highly recommend this product over any of the other sizes. I'm just lucky that my wife didn't have one, so she can carry her own tube and repair tools on her own bike now with the medium one.

Great design but poor quality, April 28, 2009
By Timothy Germann (South Orange, NJ)
|
|
This is a handsom bag design with great features such as quick release clip, integral reflector strip and rear light attachment which unfortunately had THREE things break on the bag within the first 2 months using it. First the fixer (quick release clip) broke while I was snapping the bag on the bike. After returning it, the guys at the bike shop replaced it no charge but soon the zipper broke off on it's own while I was riding. That was annoying, but was able to open and close the bag with my finger nail. Now, today while I was riding I heard a noise at my back tire and turned around to see the bag was caught in the rear fork because the second, replaced fixer BROKE AGAIN! I didn't overload the bag at all- just my house key and wallet with room to spare.
I can't believe so many things can break on a simple bag all by themselves without trauma. I liked the design, but unfortunately will not be buying another Topeak bag again.

Awesome, October 9, 2008
By What if the hokie pokie is what.. (Mousetown, Florida)

|
This bag is large, almost as big as a regular size seat. I carry keys, a wallet, patch kit, extra tube, and 13in1 tool. The attachment to the seat is a little rough but once it is on very stable. This took the place of two bicycle attachment bags. Craftsmanship is awesome!

Good buy for a smaller pack, August 29, 2008
By Livewiremd (Sykesville, MD)
|
|
This pack seems to be well built and it expands and collapses by zipper. It holds my pump fairly securely and is easy to add or remove from the bike. I was able to stuff some small snacks, a small camera, a new innertube , small tire repair kit and a wallet into this but that is about all. A larger pack is needed if you want to carry more than that, but I like to travel light so this suits me fine.

Large Aero Wedge Pack with Fixer, June 17, 2011
By Boat75 (St. Albans, WV United States)
|
|
Great pack, have the medium, too. Fixer that came with it didn't fit road bike seat, had to order the race seat fixer for ~5 bucks and it works fine. The large is a good bit bigger than the medium, can fit tube, patch kit, multi-tool, planet bike blaze light, and medium sized phone in the medium, can fit all that plus wallet with a bit more extra space in the large.

Great bag but not perfect for race saddles, September 16, 2010
By Tom Lin (New York, NY)
|
|
I have the non-fixer version of this bag and love it. perfect size for my daily commutes and weekend rides.
However the F11 fixer mount that comes with this will not fit a race style saddle with narrow rail clearances. You'll have ot get a F22 race fixer.
Topeak F22 Wedge Pack Fixer for Racing Style Rail Saddle
Also if you happen to use a non-setback seat post and/or have your saddle clamped very far forward, the bag itself will not mount on correctly. The QR plate on the bag will force the top portion of the bag to flex when you strap the seat post strap on and click in, bending the bag awkwardly. A smaller bag MAY help with this.

Bicycle Under Seat Pouch, June 5, 2010
By Gun.. (Port Orange, Florida USA)

It attached very easily and gives me expandable room to store those small items that I would otherwise need to keep in my pockets! I now mainly use it for repair items for the bike!

Not for rough terrain, July 24, 2009
By John T. Sage (Fayetteville, AR)
|
|
Zipper seperated and lost half the stuff in the bag. Luckily the keys were behind the spare tube wedged tight to the back. The bag should be fine for smooth rides. Quick release is great.

Topeak bag system, April 17, 2009
By Biker Dudette (Colorado)
|
|
I love the concept behind these Topeak bags. They're easy to attach and remove. I bought this larger one hoping to have room for tools and a light jacket; it works, but is pretty tight. I attached it to my road bike and took off. After about 40 miles, I went over a rough spot in the road and the clip broke off on the bag. I was rather surprised as these bags are intended for mountain bikes. I was able to get the whole bag replaced, but it will be frustrating if this happens again. I would recommend the medium bag; you won't be tempted to overstuff it!

Topeak Aero Wedge Pack with Fixer (Large), November 10, 2011

This is a very good wedge pack for my bike. It gives me enough room to carry a spare tube and some tools with room for my keys and cell phone.

Huge Bag, October 11, 2011
By V. Dacoron (San Diego, CA USA)
|
|
I ordered this bag because I wanted to replace the big one I had on my bike. I thought I would need a large because I thought this bag being a wedge would make it a little smaller. But then I saw how big it was. It was much bigger than I thought. So I ordered a small and it's perfect for my road bike.
