4.0 out of 5 stars.  Almost perfect, July 19, 2008
By Martin (Santa Ana, CA United States)
The Camelbak Rogue hydration pack is a small backpack that holds 70 oz of water and a has two small areas for cargo. It has a long plastic tube that comes out of the water bladder and ends in an L-joint with a valve. To drink from the tube, you bite down on the blue bite valve and suck on the tube. The L-joint has a valve that lets you shut off the water to prevent accidental leaks. Unlike older Camelbak designs, you can fill the bladder without removing the bladder from the pack, by simply lifting up a flap towards the top of the pack.

Camelbak makes way too many different hydration packs, but this one is my current favorite. Here's what I like and don't like about this one:

1. This pack holds 70 oz of water. Other models hold more and some other ones hold less. I've found that 70 oz is a good balance between too little water and too much water (too much water is too heavy).

2. This pack has 2 small accessory compartments which are the right size for holding keys, sunglasses, cellular phones, MP3 player, and your wallet (and not much else). One compartment is towards the bottom and the other is part of the flap which you flip up to access the filling area for the water bladder. Both are zippered. Camelbak also has a separate phone holder which can be mounted on the front of the backpack straps, which keeps the phone closer to where you need it.

In my view, it has just the right amount of storage for a day outside and reflects a good balance between storage amount and weight.

3. The pack insulates the water bladder, so if you fill it with ice, your water will stay cold for hours. I usually fill the bladder 80% with ice, then add water, and then put into the pack.

4. The pack has padding strategically placed on the back of the pack to allow air to get under your back. This keeps you from sweating directly onto the pack.

5. My only criticism is with the external fill port. Because that filling cap is not insulated like the rest of the bladder, when you have ice water in your pack, water from the air condenses on the plastic screw cap and then runs down the outside of the pack. It also gets absorbed into the flap that covers the fill cap (which contains storage as well). It hasn't been a major problem, but my earlier camelbak packs (which didn't have the external fill port) didn't have condensation problems at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Quality materials, very functional, February 8, 2009
By Ivan W. Ong (Charlotte, North Carolina United States)
This is my 3rd CamelBak in the last 12 years or so. I was pleasantly surprised by the improvements that have been engineered into this product. The water bladder and tubing is of medical grade materials (TPU, Elastomers) and does not have the odor issues of PVC. One gets the impression that this product has been thoughtfully designed. The reflectors on the straps are great. The bladder is hung inside the bag, thus preventing it from sagging under heavy loads. The position is very comfortable on one's back and there is no shifting or bouncing on gnarly downhills unlike the older design. The only criticism is that the lower pocket should have two zippers. The reason is this: it opens very wide in an inverted U-shape fashion. If you forget to zip up on the trail, you will loose whatever is inside- and I have seen my fair share of items strewn on singletracks. A two zipper format is more of an insurance as you can by habit centralize the zippers to the middle of the pack.

All in all, a really nice product at a very fair price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  comfortable, October 10, 2008
By S. Murillo (Bogota, Colombia)
it's comfortable, doesn't taste like plastic, fits well, has adjustable strings which have belcro at the end to roll them so thy don't get in your way. the sternum strap gives much more stability, but if you dont want it it can be removed. its easy to fill, and has just the exact cargo space for important things (cell phone, maybe an energy bar, air pump, and it can e adjusted to even take clothing such as a sweter and some pants at the same time).

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good for long distance runs, September 7, 2008
By Rasim Musal
I wanted something that held more water than a fuel belt for my long distance runs in the trails. After an initial adjustment period I learned how to use the straps properly and it allowed me to run my first 50K. Slows me down somewhat but if you are going the distance on the trails it definitely is very useful...

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good product but could be improved, May 2, 2010
By msla (US)
I use this product for long distance hiking.

Pros: compact, feels comfortable and light on my back, keeps water cool even after 3 hours, the front accessory pockets allow me to carry my phone, keys, and even an extra shirt among other things.

Cons:
-When I run, the straps slide a bit no matter how I adjust them
-The front straps come off at times but they are easily fixed
-The bite valve and hydrolock became ineffective and water started leaking after the 8th use.

I think it would be useful to have extra bite valves as well as hydrolocks for replacement when they start leaking. I ended up taking out the water bladder and putting water bottles inside the backpack instead while I wait for the replacement parts to be shipped so I guess even without the water bladder, the backpack can still be made useful. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product. I just wish the bite valve and hydrolock were more durable.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A must-have for outdoor enthusiasts, September 23, 2007
By NW (Grand Rapids, MI)
I take the Camelbak with me on every mountain bike trail ride, filled with ice water. For me personally, I find that on a moderately hot day, the 2.1-liter reservoir suffices for 2-3 hours of activity. There are two convenient zippered pouches in the back, perfect for storing car keys, cell phone, a couple of powerbars, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for short runs, but not enough water for a full day of activity, September 11, 2008
By Jason (BIRMINGHAM, Albania)
I bought this to wear on my back during runs, because sometimes I get thirsty and I dont want to carry around a water bottle. It is great for that - it is lightweight, so you dont really notice it until it is about half empty and then you get the sloshing noises... nothing to complain about. It keeps the water cool even when it is hot out (except the water in the tube). For runs, I would say this is highly recommended.
I started carrying it in my patrol car (I'm a police officer) and drinking out of it during the day (with all that gear on, plus I live in Alabama, it can get really hot) instead of having to get bottles of water. This works great and the water stays relatively cool all day, but I usually empty it before the shift is over.
In short, if you need enough water for a long trip, or a day's worth of riding around and getting out in the heat, yo may need a bigger camelback. If you are going on runs and need a good hydration method, this is the way to go.

Only con (for running) I can think of at the moment is that the drinking tube kinda gets in the way when not in use. You can clip it to the pack using the plastic clip, but then you have to fiddle with it while youre running to get i

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Must buy for avid mountain biker, September 4, 2007
By Brian McGloughlin
Recently purchased a camelbak after using water bottles for a few
years. The product definitely is a must for someone who likes to ride hard on the trails without having to slow down to grab a drink. It is lightweight and I hardly know it is there. Worth the purchase if you do not like to sacrifice speed while trying to hydrate your body.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Amazing Product!, May 28, 2010
By Jeremy (Washington, DC)
I recently got back into mountain biking, and when I used to trail ride at 13, I only ever needed a water bottle attached to my bike to stay hydrated and ready to go. I'm currently 22 and I do realize those days are over, and carrying multiple bottles of water in a backpack was an inconvenience, especially since I ride with a small group of people and I'm tasked to carry everyone's keys and cell phones due to the storage space.

I was interested in hydration packs when I was younger, mostly because I just thought they were cool, but now I'm amazed that I didn't purchase one sooner (just got it early this week). It has helped increase performance on the trail by keeping fluids pumping through my muscles, and helps me cool off from the blazing heat. The build quality of the pack is outstanding - I couldn't have asked for a better pack. I very much enjoy that this pack is small, light, and comfortable, plus, it is able to carry essentials on the trail. It is the perfect balance between storage capacity and size; you can really everything you need to bring on the trail, except perhaps a DSLR camera if you're into photography while riding, however, I've been able to pack my small DMC Lumix FZ-28 into the pouch and have plenty of room for my bike pump, keys, wallet, and cell phone.

I barely drink enough water as it is, as I never was one to carry water bottles with me, but with this pack I'm able to stay fully hydrated while exercising, which is much healthier than how I used to do it. I was so pleased with this pack that I went ahead and ordered the Camelbak Better Bottle since I have been looking for a good water bottle to have with me at work for some time now, but I was never pleased with the crummy ones from the local stores. I've changed into a full on Camelbak supporter in just one week. Anyways, this product rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great purchase, June 11, 2009
By jsexamus
What a difference from water bottles to a Camelbak. And the Rogue is the perfect size and weight for the two to three hour rides that I go on. Two liters is plenty and it stays cold. I also stick my truck keys and my phone back there too. Its great to have my phone on me to take pictures every once in a while. Let me add, its very easy to clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great pack, August 28, 2008
By iDude
This is my first hydration pack and it sure does what I was hoping it would do. It's small and light, holds 2L of water which is enough for 2 hours on the track for both me and my wife. What's more, it also holds my wallet, keys and cellphone. I always pop a bunch of ice cubes in there especially on hot days. The only problem is that the water left in the tube warms up and you have to drink that first before you reach the cooler water in the main tank.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  I Love This Thing!, June 15, 2009
By Glenn R. Ellison (Pembroke Pines, Florida United States)
After recently buying a Trikke, I determined that I needed a portable water supply. A hydration pack seemed to fit the bill for two reasons. First, I didn't want to drill into the Trikke to attach a cage to hold the water bottle and second, the convenience of a hydration pack meant not having to stop the Trikke to reach down, drink, then replace the bottle.

One of the unexpected advantages I've found is that the Rogue comes in handy when I mow the lawn. No more having to stop and go to the garage for a sip of water.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, September 23, 2008
By C. Mcintire (Ohio)
I have an older version and liked it. This new Rogue has an additional pocket and great ventilation next to your back. It is perfect for the type of cycling that I do. I find that a CamelBak helps me stay hydrated on long rides into the wind and on hills where it is difficult to maintain your pace and drink from a bottle. It really doesn't add much weight over that of bottles. I would buy it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Girls, watch out for the chest strap!, July 6, 2010
By Laura J Turner
I have owned this product for about 3 months. I use it when I bike and when I run. It is good on the bike. When you run, I think your experience with this product would be based on your gender.

If you are male and can strap it directly across your chest there would be no problem, but for me, the chest strap needs to be able to go down farther to ride beneath my breasts to keep the pack from bouncing. It is still better than stashing water bottles along my 15-25 mile routes.

Additionally, if I were designing this pack, it would have a small mesh pocket on the front where I could stash my "food" for the run as I can't reach the pockets in back and have to stop to get to my stash. Good all in all, but with a couple of design tweaks it would definitely get 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great camelbak for mountain biking, July 14, 2009
By Alexander Timofeyev
I love this camelbak for mountain biking.

The 70oz reservoir holds enough water for my XC rides, has a large wide opening that is easy to open and easy to fill. For comparison, my old hydration pack had a zip-lock opening that required me prying it open with one hand while filling, and was a huge pain to close.

The fit is comfortable and secure, and doesn't require a waist belt, which means you can use your jersey's back pockets. My old hydration pack, with a waist belt, completely closed off those pockets.

Finally, there's lots of room for tools and supplies. There are 2 zippered pockets, a large one on the bottom, and a small one covering the reservoir opening, which let you comfortably store lots of stuff (for example: keys, wallet, cell phone, multi-tool, spare tube) without fear of anything falling out along the trail due to the zippered closure. In addition, there's a stretch mesh beneath the large lower pocket, which is perfect for holding a mini pump.

It's doesn't seem much bigger than the smallest, lightest camelbak, yet it features a lot more storage capacity. I think the Rogue strikes the perfect balance between size and storage. I liked it so much, I bought a second one, and I'd recommend it to everyone who doesn't need a 100oz reservoir.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome product, August 1, 2010
By Elizabeth M. Smith (Dallas, TX)
I'm a triathlete, currently training for a century (100 mile bike race). Initially, water bottles in cages on my bike were good enough, but on longer rides, they just don't provide enough water. And I hate running while holding a water bottle or running in loops so I can pick up a bottle and then put it back down, so I often end up under-hydrated on my runs.

So a hydration pack was a must. I've heard so many good things about Camelbak over the years, but had thought that I would be really bothered by the weight and bouncing around on my back while I rode or ran.

Not so. In fact, I actually forget it is there most of the time.

Pros:
- 70 oz of water is the perfect compromise. I typically drink it all during a 50+ mile ride but am not left wanting more at the end.
- The straps are super adjustable and with proper placement, means the pack doesn't bounce at all while you run or ride
- Easy to clean - simply use your kitchen sink sprayer to thoroughly rinse out the pack, wipe the mouthpiece with a sanitizing wipe and then rinse well, then hang upside down to dry.
- Pockets! I can stash GUs, keys, cash, and a spare tube with space to spare.

Cons:
- The drinking tube sticking out the side can get caught on things as you run (assuming you run close to other objects) if you don't keep it pulled in tight. It's not too hard to fix, just requires a little maneuvering. But a few strategically placed clips would have helped keep it connected to the pack.

Overall, I'm really pleased with this product.

This CamelBak is everything I was looking for. Multiple compartments allow for easy traveling (beach, music festival, etc.) and the colors are beautiful. Straps offer appropriate length for me (I'm 5'3") but might be a problem for taller individuals. Some condensing issues when filled with iced water, so the back sometimes gets a little damp. Other than that, I would recommend the Rogue to anyone. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good to Go, April 9, 2010
By JR (Cedar Rapids, IA USA)
I received the Rogue about a month ago and have used it for extended runs thus far. It works just as I'd hoped. Not too bulky, but a couple handy storage areas to stash Gels, extra clothing items, etc... I was concerned that it would be uncomfortable for running, but I don't really notice the weight and fit. The most annoying part is the sloshing of the liquid but you get used to it. It's great to carry enough water or sports drink for three hour runs. I cut the line a little shorter so it swings directly to my mouth. The only minor nit is that, although it's rated for 70 oz., it seems like it holds more like 60-65 oz. No big deal. Thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great for 2-3h bike ride, November 17, 2009
By Alain
I picked this over the classic 70oz pack because it has 2 pockets and a expandable area to put in layers or pack a lunch, while not being really heavier and it has a better ventilated back which was important to me - I don't like to get hot from a backpack!

Love this water backpack and I don't know why I waited this long to get one. I can easily drink on the go, end up drinking more and have more energy on the go. Good for 2-3h ride for me, while my 1L frame attached bottle was limiting me to 1h+ ride.
If I ever get to do 4h+ ride, I can always bring my cage watter bottle as well, as to not have to carry a bigger/ehavier 3L backpack around, and just refill it...

at under $40 it's a no brainer for any MTB.

I'm not a professional bike rider by any means, just do a little light trail riding and was tired of reaching for my water bottle all the time. 4.0 out of 5 stars.  I use it for ziplining, May 5, 2008
By Conan F. Wall (Marble Falls, TX)
I wear this backpack all day about 35 hours a week while I work at a Texas canopy zipline course. It's small enough to not get much in my way while I have 10 people crammed on a treetop platform but enough water to hold me all day. The only issue I've really had with it is it's too easy to drink way too much water and end up needing bathroom breaks constantly. So the trick is to just take little tiny sips all day to end with some water in the tank (rather than drink the whole thing twice in one day which is nearly a gallon of water!).

The back is useful for a camera, sunscreen, a little bit of food and sometimes I clip things in on the strap that flips up to let you put water in the blatter.

I don't really like the clip that is supposed to hold the "hands-free" drinking device. I still end up using my hand to push it to my mouth and the clip nearly took a dive out of a tree the other day.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Don't Even Think of Buying Anything Else!, June 26, 2010

As a mountain biker, I have previously gone through two CamelBaks (over many years). This one, the Rogue, is by far the ultimate for a few hours of trails or a race. 5.0 out of 5 stars.  DH loves it, March 25, 2010
By Juniper (Houston)
My husband bought this for himself - he has been taking 50 mile bike rides on the weekends. He is very happy with all the features and functionality of the Camelbak. However he cautions users not to clean the unit with brushes! As a homebrewer, cleaning plastic buckets and equipment with brushes leave scratches in the plastic that cannot be sanitized and the same is true for the Camelbak. A weak bleach solution is your best way to clean and sanitize your Camelbak.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  I love this thing!, October 30, 2009
By MTB (Silicon Valley, CA)
Before getting the CamelBak I was using a water bottle when biking. I found I wind up drinking more water using the CamelBak than I do using a bottle because it is so much more convenient. This keeps me better hydrated and makes for a much better ride overall for me. Very easy to use and great for storing the usual list of goods you need to take along. It has a nice sized opening for dropping ice cubes in along with the water to keep things cool. Someone gave this item a bad rating saying the water tasted like chemicals when they used it. Not even! The only off taste I get is if the ice cubes have been in the freezer too long. I would get another one of these any day if I needed to and am considering one that holds more water for longer rides.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great buy just in time for the holidays, December 29, 2008
By N. Rowell (United States)
I bought this CamelBak for a loved one this Christmas and it was the perfect gift. I shopped around at several retailers (Cabela's, Academy, Target, etc.) and this was the lowest price I could find around. This model is great for hiking - it comes with a few pouches to store a camera, map, some food, and other essentials for a day trip. It's the perfect hybrid between a full-sized backpack and the smaller Camelbak hydration bladder pack. 5 out of 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic!, December 14, 2008

This worked out perfect for me - I wore it in my first century bike race and it was sooooo convenient! Not only did it allow me to carry all my nutrition in the pockets of my jersey since I was able to stuff tire repair stuff in the backpack pockets, but it meant I always had fluid when I needed it and didn't have to mess with filling or carrying more bottles. GREAT!

By Liney C. Hamilton III
Great product, I've heard nothing but horror stories from people that have tried to save a buck of two on a cheaper hydration system. I am very happy with this product.
If you're looking for one then get a CamelBak of a Penguin.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great pack for cycling and running, May 31, 2008
By shauram (Minidoka, ID)
I have really enjoyed using this pack. In reviews for hydration packs I often read about the water tasting like plastic, but I have not noticed that with this pack. The hydration bladder is easy to remove and clean. The pack has room to hold a few small items. It fits comfortably. The sternum strap is a nice feature. It is a very good pack for a good price.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Functional, February 4, 2009
By rockenreno (San Diego, CA USA)
Nothing really stands out about this pack. I use it for shorter mountain biking or hiking trips, but for longer trips I have the Octane 14+ 3 liter pack, which I prefer (though it is much bulkier). If searching for a lightweight, comfortable and functional 2 liter pack, this is quite good.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Long lasting great quality, June 7, 2011
By Laura Hornor (MARIETTA, GA, US)
I bought this camelbak almost 2 years ago and it's been through many trips with me. This gear is great! It's lightweight and comfortable and well made. The straps rest nicely on the shoulders and there are ample pockets for extra storage. I'll check back in with this review in 2 more years; i'm pretty sure it will still feel brand new!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Lightweight, Comfortable and Trendy, May 4, 2011
By BullishAttitude
I love my camelbak! It holds the right amount of water for your various outdoor activities- wether its hiking or just to play sports.

I'm a small person so it was very suprising to find the cambelbak so lightweight and comfortable. I filled up my pack with as much water as it can hold and it still didnt feel like I was carrying anything on my back. The shoulder straps and back lining are very comfortable. Has 2 exterior pockets to fit your camera, cellphone, keys, small snacks and money.

I have not had any leaking problems with it so far, the one time I did was because I didnt close the lid correctly. The only con I have is that the water in the tube is not thermal insulated so it can get pretty warm when you leave it out for a while.

I do my amazon research thoroughly and I would definitely reccomend this camelbak.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Hydration Pack, March 23, 2011
By HoneyBunny
My boyfriend and I love to go hiking and he desperately needed a hydration pack. I bought him this one, and he was absolutely thrilled with it. It's lightweight and hold's plenty of water for both of us. It has just enough pockets to carry the essentials on a hike and it looks very sleek and stylish. My boyfriend loves his gift and I love it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Product!!!! Amazing !!, March 22, 2011
By dgatti
This is a great product!!! I was soo excited to come home and to see the package on my front doorstep. I was hoping for it to be a little bigger for storing more items, but come to think of it, smaller is better.
I was able to fit my: Cell phone, wallet, replacement inner tube, keys, (2) Powerbars, and my Ipod. There is also a place where I can put a small tire pump (which was really cool, didn't notice it until my second mountain bike ride.) This Hydration pack is perfect for anyone!!! After my first ride (which was almost 2 1/2 hours) I still had a lot of water left over!!!
Camelbak is the number one brand to get for hydration packs.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Hydrator, March 13, 2011
By BadAzzTeacher (Tucson)
I have used this pack on several hikes and it does just what I want it to. Holds 1.5 liters which is good for a 3 hour desert hike. I have run out of water before(with this pack) when it's 100+. It has space for a phone, wallet, keys, and a snack. The space gets limited when the bladder is full though. It sure beats carrying a bigger backpack with water bottles rolling around inside. I would not recommend this pack for an all day hike.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Why did I wait so long?, December 6, 2010
By Mike McDonald
I spend some time out in the great outdoors and for years I have made due with make-shift containers (or legitimate water bottles) packed in a fanny pack or backpack. I have always viewed these types of hydration devices as just trendy gadgets. Imagine my surprise when I finally broke down and purchased this one for an upcomming hike. For those of you that know what a compliment these packs are to your adventure I need not go on, but for those who were like me, you have experience it. The water weight is so nicely distributed about your back. I didn't even notice. This is completely different from the water bottles jostling about in my pack from hikes in the past. I'm the type of person who does not want a lot of weight of my back unless I'm going on an extensive expedition so I picked this pack because it was one of the smaller ones. Knowing what I know now, I could probably have gone with a bit more water capacity (I was totally taken aback by the lightness and efficiency of the weight distribution of this pack loaded) but I will never give this one up. It is perfect for a day hike and an excellent addition to an expedition if a day hike should happen off of base camp. This will also be perfect for bike rides (both motorcycle and bicycle) and my outdoor photography where sitting and waiting is sometimes very time consuming. Well built and I love the no-plastic taste that this type of reservoir delivers. Having the wide mouth also allowed me to fill the bag with plenty of ice that kept the water nice and cold and gave a pleasent cooling effect for me as I hiked.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, November 13, 2010
By B. Beaulieu (Little Rock, AR)
Great product so far - it was exactly as described and exactly what I was looking for. I bought two of the kid Camelbaks for my children, and my sister bought a different style from me (she bought a 100oz Mule). This one has the right amount of storage for basics, but not too much. When full with water, the weight is about right (the weight difference of the 100oz was noticeable). Also, this one has a clip on the shoulder strap for the mouth piece to keep it in place. While this may seem like a small thing, it was a nice feature that none of the other packs we bought had. I would definitely buy this one again.

#2 - Just enough room to put what you need in this thing for a 2-5 hour ride
#3 - Perfect size! Nice and compact
#4 - Quality. You pay a price for it, but it is a quality piece of equipment.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  For use when I run at the beach, November 7, 2010
By M. DELCID (LA, CA)
I've been running with pack for quite a while now and it hasn't let me down. I like its sleek look and it's medium size is perfect on those short runs. The cleaning is pretty simple, I just use some lemon juice with backing soda solution, rinse it and dry it. It holds tight when I run...thinking of upgrading to a pack with more Oz's for longer runs.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome hydration Pack., October 29, 2010
By joshieboi86 (San Francisco, CA USA)
Works great in snow and/or for snowboarding. Had some hard falls but this item did not leak or burst (I'm 225lbs). Can stuff the sides with snow/ chocolate bars and other items.

It works well for jungle use. Took it on a hikes in El Salvador, stuffed other beverages 3/4 into the rear where the plastic bag lays, kept it cool for a long while. Excellent hydration pack, recommend that you use the cleaning tablets after being used before storage.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great!!!, October 25, 2010
By Hunter Cool_
I used this for about 20 hours total over the weekend at Wings Over Houston, the drinking tube isn't cheaply made, doesn't taste horrable and the water doesn't taste like plastic. I was able to hold sunscreen, sunglasses, and a few other small things in the pockets of it. It isnt to bulky, holds enough water for 2-4 hours. Of course, after only six hours its going to hurt your back but that is expected. Will buy from them again!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works Great, September 24, 2010
By f33db4ck
My girlfriend has a water backpack, I could not find an Identical one because I liked hers so much, so I did research, and everyone seemed to like this one. For good reason, it works. No gimmicks. Everything on it makes sense and is useful. All the pockets work for whatever you need them too and its totally customizable. Rock on!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Product, September 13, 2010
By Michael J. Duda (North Carolina, USA)
I love this thing. It is my first Camelbak and I use it for cycling. I wanted something I could shove some extra tubes and protein bars in and this works perfectly.

I recommend putting the bladder it the the fridge overnight before use. Maybe add a little ice to it too, keeps it cool on your back that way. It feels awesome. Otherwise it sort of creates a hot spot right in your mid back that can overheat you if it's very hot out.

I drink about 1 liter every hour when I am cycling, so I have to refill it about every 30 to 40 miles.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for yard work, July 25, 2010
By Dennis Baldwin (Bristol, CT United States)
I bought this product, my first use of a hydration pack, after losing 3 weeks of yard work due to a severe charley horse. I failed to drink enough water while working on our large property during a hot summer day.

During my recovery, I researched options for carrying water on my back while working outside. The reviews for this product seemed promising. My personal experience of the first two weeks of using this product confirmed what I read.

I'm quite pleased with not only the good taste of the water but that it stays cool while I'm working under the hot summer sun.

When I can escape from yard work, I'll definitely be using it for jogging and hiking as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great purchase, July 24, 2010
By bike boy (Corvallis Oregon)
I bought this hydration pack so that I could extend my rides. It has worked perfectly, allowing me to carry enough water for 2+ hour rides and also bring along food and a cel phone. I had an older hydration pack that was much more difficult to fill and clean and didn't have the storage capabilities. I am very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone that is looking to extend their rides and not have a large pack on your back.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thirsty???????, July 21, 2010
By R-evolution (Maryland)
I got this as a Christmas gift for my brother in law, he is a landscaper and is constantly out in the heat and harsh conditions. He uses it everyday and loves that he doesn't have to carry around a gallon jug everywhere he goes. I would like to get one fro myself as well but find that I am not active enough to get the uses out if it. But its a cool product and a great idea. Even if you are just going to the amusement park in the summer its a great thing to have.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Rogue Camelbak, July 11, 2010
By Adam (Cedar Rapids, Iowa USA)
My only complaints are that after 2 weeks of usage, the chest strap's stitching came undone and so I had to sew it. The next thing is that I wish it sat a little bit higher on my back to make the water easier to get at.

Other than that, it really doesn't bother me to take on 2+ hour runs.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Worked better than expected, June 24, 2010
By Jimboween (Bradenton, FL)
I used this all week in day camp as a den leader for Cub Scouts. It worked perfectly. I filled it up with bottled water and let it freeze for a few hours in the freezer. Just before bed I would take it out of the freezer and put it in the fridge.
There were enough room in the pockets for my car keys, phone, wallet, small first aid kit, spray vials of antiseptic and Off and a Gerber multi-tool in pouch. I could have stuffed more in there had I wanted.
When strapped on, the pack stayed in place and didn't jiggle but still felt light on my shoulders - I've had two lower-back surgeries and did not feel any ache due to wearing it.
It was really popular with the kids too, I wasn't the only one there with a hydration system but I seemed to be the only one they asked about it so they must have really liked the Rouge design.
Bottom line: it held all my stuff, and didn't hurt my back, and it stayed icy for most of the day....for Florida in June, that's all I can ask.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Amazing Hiking Backpack, May 8, 2010
By Z. Gerechoff (Morristown, NJ)
I bought this to use while hiking, its fantastic, definatly worth getting over the classic version, the extra pockets are great to put a small flashlight, wallet, keys, snacks and anything else minor that you might need for a hike. The great thing and the small things i love about this Camelbak, 70 oz's just enough water, not too much, load it up with ice, keeps everything cool for hours and hours regardless of how hot it is outside. In the lower pocket of the actual bag, there is a little clip for things like your keys or anything that might need a little suspension or anything that might need be reached very quickly. The straps are HUGE, u can adjust them to go extremely tiny, to extremely huge.

the only negative i have about this pack, is im not sure where i read, but i was almost positive someone mentioned or i read that this came with a phone holder on the strap, was really hoping i could put my ipod in there, oh well, just get an arm band

All in all i highly recommend this hydrasack to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best hydration pack available!, January 26, 2010
By Bernardo Wernesback (Brazil)
This hydration pack is awesome!!! Perfect combination of capacity, comfort and ruggedness. I am using this pack on a weekly basis for long bike rides (1-6 hours). It works perfectly! Very easy to refill and leak free. It seems like a lot of thought was put into this product as there are some great solutions for small details. Water stays cool under strong sun radiation for around 2 hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Perfect for short outings, January 6, 2010

I love this pack. It is so comfortable, you don't even realize that it is there until you are thirsty. It is easy to fill and empty. I've always used hydration packs for biking, but this one is so comfortable I'll be using it for hiking also.

The amount of water seems about right for 2-3 hours of activity, depending on the heat.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Camelbak Rogue, November 9, 2009
By Iceman rider (Michigan)
No one makes a hydration pack like Camelbak. I bought this a month ago to replace my cheap hydration pack and I am sorry I waited so long for one of these. I have used this for 150+ miles of mountain biking so far usually 1.5-2.5 hour rides and the 70oz is enough in cooler weather. My favorite features are the 90deg. mouth piece, the velcro straps that keep the extra shoulder straps for flopping around, and the plastic clip inside the bottom compartment that I can put my key ring on and have extra confidence that it is not going to fall out. Nice pack!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Tour de France....baby, November 4, 2009
By P. Furst
This system works great...Compact and light, with enough space to carry most things for a
moderate ride 20-30 miles. The water in the bladder tastes fine..no taste at all as a matter of fact,
and adding some ice-cubes keeps the water cold and cools off your back nicely. The lower compartment opens
all the way, which gives you room for bicycle pump some tools and even small lunch. This product
is a great addition to my cycling gear..easy to use, forget your even wearing it. Also this product
allows for variations...water tube can be switched from either side and straps adjust for nearly any
body size or shape.....

Arrived early and in perfect condition
CamelBak / Amazon kudos

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Prefect Camalbak!!, September 3, 2009
By Travis J. Wilkerson
This is the prefect size! I've used this each time I ride and I've also used it camping! The water stays cool for hours even in 90+ degree heat! I do recommend getting the thermal tube because the water from the mouthpiece to the bladder will get warm. You can also store a lot of stuff securely in the two zipper compartments and I haven't had anything fall out of the elastic side compartments.
