Fantastic!, May 18, 2010
By Christi (Northern Cal)

|
I ordered the Forza bike trainer, with great trepidation. I had heard bike trainers were noisy, problems to put together, etc. This Forza trainer was and is fantastic. Resistance is excellent with changing gears. It was simple to put together and makes NO NOISE. All the other trainers I had reviewed complained about the noise level. There just isn't one on this trainer. It is not expensive, I received in 5 days and am totally impressed. Thank you!

Works perfectly; pass on package recommendation though., October 11, 2010
By Rocky Martinez (Seattle, WA USA)

The F2 MAG Trainer was simple to set up and works perfectly. I also purchased the small plastic piece that holds the front tire in place and raises the front to level with the back. Also works exactly as adverstised. Very happy with these two items that shipped together. Why oh why, though, was the Schwinn bike computer suggested in the three piece package? This computer is designed for the front wheel in actual riding and is pretty useless considering the front wheel never spins in this bike trainer application. The wiring is much too short to allow for a back wheel application and was never intended to be used this way. In fact, it is recommended that the sensor be no more than 1mm from the magnet that attaches to the spoke...probably easy enough accomplish on the front fork, but definately not on the frame that surrounds the back wheel of most bikes. Not only is this computer not appropriate, it ships separately...not a problem in and of itself, but Amazon offered priority shipping for "my order" for only about $9 more. I thought this was a pretty good deal until I came to realize that what I paid extra shipping for was this one useless bike computer. Buy the MAG Trainer...Buy the front wheel holder...Don't buy the Schwinn computer.

GREAT workout for casual riders + easy setup, December 27, 2010
By Aj (Northeast, USA)
|
|
I'm writing this review after 2 weeks of using this bike trainer. I purchased it along with the 8 dollar Sunlite Forza bike riser to keep the front tires straight and level with the raised rear, it's just a piece of plastic but it serves its purpose.
Color received was exactly as pictured, the cheerful white and yellow-orange color with SUNLITE lettering on the trainer frame. The bike trainer was easy to setup even with the generic manual. No tools needed. You basically unfold the frame (folds flat for storage), grab your bike and swap out the rear tire quick-release lever/rod with the silver one that is provided with the trainer (it fit over my bikes regular quick-release knobs, but I swapped it out anyways to test with the same result). If your rear tire doesn't have a quick-release lever there's a converter you can purchase separately. You then line up both sides of the bikes quick-release knobs with the trainers axle knobs and hand twist-tighten until secure. You do the same with a rear knob on the resistance roller, tightening it until it's snug against your tire. It took about 15 minutes to setup, and the bike felt very secure and was ready to ride.
IMPORTANT: Knobby tires causes additional noise and vibration on all bike trainers. If you have a nice slick road tire this unit will be quiet. I have a mountain bike with knobby tires, so it is currently not quiet. It makes a constant whirrr whirrrr whirrrrr noise against the roller, you learn to tune out the noise after a while but it's enough to wake somebody up if they are within 50 feet. If you use a headset or watch t.v. while riding you'll block out the noise, if I had to compare the noise level to something I'd say a hand mixer on a low setting. If you want a quiet trainer grab a spare bike tire that is smooth. Giving this 5 stars because it was easy to setup and gives a great workout for winter fat. I won't deduct a star for noise since it can be corrected with a tire change.
I would buy this stationary trainer again, and recommend it to other friends who are casual riders of 2-25 miles a day. If you are a hardcore biker that requires a more intense workout you might want to consider bike rollers instead where you also have to practice balance (and practice falling off a bike in your house). :)

Check your bike first, February 24, 2010
By J. Miles
|
|
i was mostly annoyed it doesnt mention anything regarding what type of wheel is necessary
if you have a quick release back wheel you are ok
mine wasn't
they sell a converter that is cheap... just annoying there is an extra step
probably used it no more than ten times and the resistance is starting to slip
i am definitely not over-tightening it
for the price though, there is little to complain about

Free Wheelin` On The Mag, November 10, 2011
By Clyde
|
|
If you weigh anywhere close to 200lbs you probably won`t get enough resistance to stand up without holding yourself back. ( I weigh 220) You can work on faster cadence, but if you want the option to do both, get the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine with the extra flywheel weight. I sent the mag trainer back, went to a local bike shop and tried the Road Machine, which uses fluid resistance. I like it much better and it`s much sturdier as well. If you want a lot of resistance you`ll have to get a stationery bike, but a good one is expensive. All this being said, you can still work up a sweat on the mag trainer... but if you`re used to riding a real bike or a Spin bike you`ll probably want more.

Good Product, November 10, 2009

This product was very easy to install and easy to use. I would like it to have a little more resistance than what its capable of producing. The color did vary from what was pictured but that wasn't really important to me.

Does what it's supposed to, January 17, 2011
By Bryan (Iowa)
|
|
This is my first trainer, and am happy with my purchase. Having a limited income due to college, I settled on this trainer rather than the more expensive fluid ones. That being said, for the price I paid, I am very pleased with the product. However, comparative to other trainers I have tried in stores, this one is much noisier than expected. I have a road racing bike with nearly bald 700x23cm tires, and the amount of noise is noticeable. In plainer terms, you'll have to turn your tv or ipod up some to accomodate for the noise. But, other than that, it offers decent resistance to work out to.

Great winter trainer, February 15, 2010
By Bruce (Wixom, MI USA)
|
|
I purchased the F2 MAG Trainer by Forza to work off a few pounds I picked up over the holidays. I use the thing every day, and it works great. Sets up easy, works with my extremely old bicycle and doesn't take up too much room in my basement. And the best part...it's cheaper than a lot of the other trainers.

Nice little trainer, November 13, 2011
By S. Bird
|
|
I bought this to supplement my outdoor rides and to keep me in shape over the winter. I'm a roadie, female, average cycling ability and training to become a competitive endurance rider.
This is a good little trainer that for the price, serves the purpose. It provides a good workout with adjustable magnetic tension. Of course it's a little loud. Most trainers are. And the knobbier the tire, the louder it will be. But for the price it bridges the gap in my workouts without completely breaking the bank. It's not the "smoothest" pedaling feel in the world...you tend to have a strong downward pedal and a choppy lift rather than a smooth, circular stroke like you would on the road or with a much more expensive trainer, but it actually forces me to pay attention to my upstrokes and is making me a stronger rider because of it. It folds up nicely, too. I would strongly suggest getting a front wheel chock to go with the trainer rather than trying to jimmy-rig something out of phone books.

bike trainer, July 29, 2011
By mark
|
|
I have really enjoyed this product thus far..(2 days , 2 rides) It provides adequate resistance for my needs. I don't see myself ever exceeding its capacity and ability to give me a quality workout. However, if you are a strong, experienced rider you may want to look for something that provides more resistance. But if that is the case, you probably know what you're going to receive on a magnetic trainer and would probably go with a fluid trainer. That being said, this is a great entry level trainer and I recommend it to fellow riders.

Simply great, February 10, 2011
By J. Galarneau
|
|
A no frills mag. I would recommended only if your back tire has a quick release. I couldn't imagine using anything other then a road bike since the tread on a mountain bike would create tonnes of noise.
Great for the winter months for me as it makes me feel a lot less guilty about going to tacobell and having other crap food. I would deff recommended getting the riser block, however you are spending more then 10 dollars on a piece of plastic.
Compared to other mags the quality seems to be good and its holding up well. I do not think this is overly loud

Great Trainer for getting started, February 9, 2011
By Ryan
|
|
Purchased this trainer because I wanted an indoor trainer to keep in shape over the winter months. The trainer is great, comes with a quick release skewer which makes it nice if you don't have an extra skewer. The instructions are easy to follow, and everything sets up in minutes. The roller is smooth and makes a slight bit of noise as you pedal, although not very loud. Offers good resistance through the shifting of your gears, just as the road would. Overall it's a great product for a great price. I was able to pick one up for $92.

This is a great trainer for exactly what's advertised! It works beautifully and takes up no space. It is heavy duty enough for me to stand up on my bike while riding. It doesn't move or scratch the floors and it is a great price! Obviously it is not SUPER fancy but it lives up to everything I need it for.

Very good trainer, January 12, 2011
By New to Road Biking
|
|
I just received the Forza trainer and I must say I'm rather pleased. I read a lot of reviews about a lot of different trainers before I decided on this one. It was very easy to set up and I was riding in about 10 minutes after removing it from the box. The longest part of the setup for me, was changing out the quick release on my rear tire with the one that comes with the trainer. I read where a few people mention that there was not enough resistance, however when I put my bike in it's lowest gear there was more than enough resistance. This trainer will allow me to get in shape for spring, since we have a lot of snow on the ground where I live.

My first trainer, December 10, 2010
By Alejo Banana (Los Angeles, CA)
|
|
I just installed this trainer a couple of days ago and am enjoying it tremendously. I also got a front wheel block ($13) for simulated climbing and downhill situations. To assess my performance, I ordered a rear wheel cycling computer for about $50 with shipping. I've been watching epicRIDES Acadia and Vermont that I rented for $2 each from YouTube on a 30 inch monitor for a complete training experience. I just recently discovered their training guides that instruct you how to pace yourself for beginning, intermediate, and advanced cyclists. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and look forward to hours of cycling when it is rainy, dark, crowded, or just want a short break on my indoor trainer watching some great videos.

Functions well but I think its a bit loud, August 8, 2011
By Ecdycis
|
|
Does everything it claims to do. It is sturdy and easy to set up. It comes with a quick release that fits the cradle. But, it is a bit loud so if you plan on watching tv while spinning I would recommend a speaker system if you have a flat screen. My Samsung with built in speakers was pretty much inaudible from about 4ft away until I got my speakers set up.

Perfect for me, December 14, 2010
By Scottie G
|
|
I had this item on my doorstep in 3 days without paying extra for shipping. The trainer was very easy to setup and I was ridding within 15 minutes. This is the first trainer that I have purchased and it meets all of my expectations perfectly. I ride a TRECK 4500 mountain bike but I have road tires on for now so the noise coming from the trainer is minimal. The product is very stable, well built and for the most part, pretty quite. The resistance isn't too bad you simply adjust the resistance by shifting gears. With the bike in the highest gear, there is enough resistance for me work up a good sweat. I am not a professional by any means but I purchased this product to try to keep the winter weight off and keep the endurance that I have built up. This trainer fits my needs perfectly.

Exactly what I wanted - but the packaging had aweful odor, August 19, 2011
By Subhav Patel
|
|
The trainer is exactly what I wanted. Stronger and quiet. If the resistance is not well set it tends to loose the resistance while biking, especially when you increase the gear. Make sure to set the resistance properly.
The packaging had aweful odor. Maybe the paint or something else?? I had to keep the trainer in open under sun for few days. I can still smell the odor a little and usually Bike with windows open. Need to do something about it!

This product is very solid and extremely easy to assemble. I have a mountain bike, and as other people commented its loud. I went an purchased a street tire which reduced the noise substantially. I am not an enthusiast bike rider, but rather need the exercise for my blood pressure.
The product meets my needs is very sturdy, i can exercise indoors. When wearing head phones for music i do not hear the tires.
I would recommend this product as a great way to exercise.

Works perfectly fine for basic fitness., January 16, 2012
By Maine Man (Maine)
|
|
I bike, run, etc. and was looking for a trainer just to keep up my cycling fitness in the winter. This is a really basic trainer that is fairly quiet and works well. It is NOT a good trainer if you want lots of tension to do hill training because the tension does not get that high. I work up a good sweat if I ride high rpm's for 30-45 minutes, but the tension never gets high enough to simulate hills. Still, for the money, it is a good maintenance fitness trainer. I would buy this again.

I really like the trainer. It was easy to set up on my bike. It comes with it's own quick release that you install in your rear axle in place of your existing one. The trainer is well constructed and is fairly quiet. I ride my bike while watching TV and don't have to turn the sound up.

Over all I am very happy with the trainer. It is sturdy and I feel very safe. the only issue I have is that it does not fit a 29" mountain bike. I was hoping to train on my bike this winter, but I will settle with my older 26" bike.

I've had no issues with this trainer since I've purchased it. It gets the job done. It is a little noisier than some of its more expensive counterparts but for me it does not warrant the price premium for the more expensive models.
