High Quality, Easy Set Up, July 22, 2009
By Adam C. Brown (Florida)

After doing much research I decided to go with the Callaway 8' Quad Net from Amazon. The price was a little more than I originally wanted to spend, but you definitely get what you pay for with this item.
This net is as close as you can get to instant set up. Just take it out of the provided Callaway bag, lay it flat on the ground and insert the 5 small stakes through each loop. Next you place one pole on each side. That is it! I haven't taken it down yet, but the directions look fairly easy as well.
Some other reasons I bought this from Amazon: (1)[..]cheaper than Dicks Sporting Goods, Edwin Watts and other golf retailers. (2) No Tax (3) Free Shipping. Saved me approx [..]. going to a retail store!
Once again, if you are looking for a high quality net go with the Callaway 8' Quad. It is money well spent if you are looking to improve your golf game. Plus it is great for the whole family!

Callaway Quad Net, November 20, 2009
By Frank D. (San Jose, CA USA)
|
|
I've had this product for about 3 months and in my opinion is the best practice net for ease of use and features. This net sets up with one person. Others can be set up with one person, but with much greater difficulty. This net, made by Izzo, is their best yet. Some of the other nets are so difficult to set up,you tend not to take them down- even if your not using it, which shortens the life of the netting. The Quad Net doesn't take up as much space front to back as some of the other comparable sized nets either and the 8' opening is plenty big enough for any golfer. I highly recommend this net.
Pros: Easy set up. Great ball return feature that moves the balls to the front edge of the net for easy collection. Has a smaller footprint than comparable sized nets.
Cons: A bit pricier than most others.
AMENDED:
Oct 26, 2010
It has been over a year since I purchased this net, and I will only add that the quality and durability is not surpassed. This product has held up well and should be part of your practice tools. It is the easiest net to set up, and with a little practice, is the easiest to disassemble. Yes it is expensive, but in my opinion, you do get what you pay for in this case.

It was great in the beginning, October 11, 2010

Bought this net about a year ago. It has really helped my swing tremendously. Just being able to swing away in my back yard just a little every day (live in CA) helps alot. (btw 20+ handicap). Its a great net but the only complaint I've got is that all the little pieces are falling apart. For one, I cut holes in target blanket cause it was making way too much noise. I shouldn't have done that cause now the whole thing is shredded. a little plastic piece that holds the tubing in place broke and I've had to sew a few holes. It would be great if Callaway sold replacement parts but I couldn't find anywhere. Anyway, I'm probably going to have to buy a new net soon (love being able to hit in my back yard), I might try one that is a little more expensive and hopefully get something that will last more than 1 year....

Great backyard fun and training, June 11, 2009
By KTS (Houston)

Great investment. Strong, light, easy to put up, a little tricky to take down, but once you figure it out it is easy. Great practice and now everyone in the family uses it. Just watch the shank shots, they can go off where you don't want them to.

Inspires Awe, then fatal flaw: Ode to the Callaway 8 Footer, May 26, 2011
By Ben Jones

|
I recently began to golf, wee little ball go smash!
Enter lovely wife snorting, "wallet no longer has cash!"
Callaway called down from the Amazons, offering rescue to me;
Said "I'll save you poor boy from those pesky driving range fees!"
At once I'd settled the issue, the solution now ordered
Would arrive day after next! O Prime you magnificent porter!
The set up was quick, flawless and fun. A true beast to behold!
But something was off, hidden, there was something not told.
Perhaps AlmostGolf, the soft, or wiffle we ought use.
Yet the white star of callaway warbird for food we did choose.
For the poor beast couldn't take it, its skin was too thin
And in nary an hour it could be passed much easier by wind
The target was missed, supposed to muffle the lash,
And the wee little white ball got through, and our window went smash!
Seriously now:
Look at other moddels with bigger backdrops unless you never slice or hook. about 10 drives in a ball went right thru. Got some almost golf balls and now it works fine with no more issues. Would have liked to have been warned, so minus a star.

Bad product, February 3, 2010

One thing they fail to tell you when buying this thing, ITS MADE MY IZZO. YES THE SAME COMPANY THAT MAKES http://www.amazon.com/Izzo-Golf-Mouth-Instant-Range/dp/B000KGEQPE/ref=acc_glance_sg_ai_-2_t_1 WHICH IS RATED AT 1 STAR!!! ITS THE SAME THING BUT WITH THE CALLAWAY NAME ON IT. The spring like design on the net surrounding makes for an easy setup, sure. BUT, when putting this thing away its like a tangled slinky. I SPEND HOURS TRYING TO PUT THIS THING BACK IN THE BAG IT CAME IN. BUYER BEWARE!!! This is the first product review I've ever done, and I've bought some badddd produces, but I HAD to say something about this poor product

Great net!!, January 28, 2011

I have only used this net for a total of 10 hours, but it looks just as nice as it did when I pulled it out of the box. I have hit everything from wedges to drivers and it has handled every shot with ease. If you do not put the target in the net, you will probably wear a hole through the back of it, but 99.9% of all shots will hit the target. Great product! Easy to fold up when not in use.

Can't go wrong with this net, December 8, 2009
By Semi-Professional Know-It-All (Omaha, NE United States)

Got this as an early Christmas gift this year, and I love it. Quick setup, relatively easy with one person. Unfold, insert two posts to keep it unfolded, hang the target (if you want), and you're set. Made of what looks to be very durable material, so I'm not worried about hitting my driver into it at full speed.
Take-down is a little bit of a challenge, but once you do it a couple of times, it's pretty easy with just one person.
Folds up just like the solar reflectors that you put in your car windshield ... ends up being about a 4' circle, and comes with a carrying bag.
Wish it came with a mat to hit off of, but that's not a big deal.

big net, July 7, 2010
By sebastian (CHICAGO, ILL USA)

|
Dont get this if you live in a small apartment. this thing is huge, really huge. not for a office either. if u have a huge living room but no backyard like a condo its great.set up is easy, just shake it up and put the post in.thats it. If your serious about getting some swing time at home this is for you, the balls stay in the net at high speeds and wide enough to catch really bad slices. U will need to go the driving range for your drivers and woods in my opinion. there is a bottom lip that keeps the balls in, so dont shoot low or it will shoot back and bite you in the ankles or break some windows. Its great that it folds up but it weighs about 20 lbs.

Great net. Easy setup and take down with practice, March 11, 2011
By S. Roberts
|
|
Once the instructions were found in the pocket of the bag, setup of the net went very quickly. Built my own astroturf mat from some outdoor green carpet and a 4x8 thick plywood for a cost of $45 including a second replacement carpet. Hitting off of this, I am able to hit up to an 8 iron without much concern. I will try my 9 and up when I take it out to the ball field at the school. For a point of reference, I tend to hit very high lofted shots. I have had no issues with the net and have learned how to pack it back up. The first attempt took about 10 minutes with the instructions in order to get it to fold back down. Now, it only takes about 3 minutes to completely pack it. With the local range costing $15 a bucket of balls, I expect this net to pay for itself within the year.

Silly statement by first reviewer since it included nothing about the actual product except the reviewers total lack of common sense and respect for these reviews. I felt it necessary to even out the bad review. I too don't own this and am looking to buy a net, probably a Callaway because of their history of selling good quality products most of the time. Unless I can find reviews, I must depend on Callaway's reputation. When I purchase, I will certainly post a comprehensive review of whatever I do buy.

I just purchased the Callaway Quad net about three weeks ago. Working great so far. I like how the balls roll down to the front of the net and collect there. I also like the hanging target in the front of the net; I just wish the target was a bit larger.

Great Golf Net, January 17, 2011
By ricer333

Nice large size, I bought the 8' version. The mat/target in the middle hangs from the two cloth straps. The entire setup is held together by two 3-4' poles that are angled to provide support on the bottom part of the net.
The target mat is a great idea as it takes the brute force of the ball and reduces strain on the netting itself, which in my opinion tends to fail no matter how good the material is.
Well worth the $$$

Best net out there, September 30, 2011
By Chunga (Nevada City, CA)

I've owned this Callaway net for more than a month now. I must say, it takes everything I throw at it. It stands firm and tall and has a great quality build. I researched all available nets I could find on the web and decided on this one.........I'm very happy I did. If you're serious about your practice at home, this is the one. Once you learn to walk the net closed per instructions, it's a 3 min. drill to pack up. Hit them well!!

Quality net., June 3, 2011

The first golf net I got from some other company was a cheap piece of crap. I can hit the ball pretty decent, so I needed something sturdier. I decided to try this net out. I set it up in my backyard and I just leave it outside 24/7. I've been hitting balls into it everyday for the last two months and it's still holding up strong. I am happy with this item.

Excellent Product, May 9, 2011
By Tom (Massachusetts United States)

|
After reading some of the horror stories in reviews on less expensive nets, I decided to pay the extra bucks for what seemed to be a superior product. I have had my net now about a month and am very pleased with it. I was able to set it up quite easily by myself. The frame is made of light spring steel which is the perfect combination of light weight and rigidity. The hanging target buckles, as it is supposed to, when the balls hits it and neatly drops them so that they are easily retrieved. The few balls that miss the target are easily stoped by the net. I have had a couple of badly skyey tee shots get over it so you would probably want to stand as close as possible to it,especially when hitting lofted clubs. It is supported by 2 metal poles unlike cheaper models that apparently use PVC and are prone to breakage. While it is reasonably easy to take down and store I don't think you would want to do this on a daily basis. Nonetheless I did not want to leave it standing and subject it to all the deterioration of rain and sun. Setting up in a shady area solves the sun problem and when rain is forecast I simply remove the 2 steel poles, collapse it flat on the ground and cover it with a plastic tarp weighted on the edges by rocks or boards. There are a few very minor problems. The target tends to billow up on windy days making it less useful and on one day with 40 mile plus gusts the net itself blew over. The metal spikes at the ends of the 2 supporting poles that go into the ground could be 3 or 4 inches long instead of the 1 too 1 and 1/2 inches. Being so short they have a tendency to pull ot of the ground. Aso, the metal hold down spikes, that are appx 4 inches long, have a tendency to twist and thus release the hold down tabs. All of these are minor problem and constitute no real hazard and little or no nuisance.

This net is very nice. Even thow it is higher in price, it is worth the money. The best thing is it is very easy to build and take down. After I did it 2 or 3 tims I could build it in about 10 min. There are some things I would change. One,the target thet hangs in the middle dosen't have hooks on the bottem to attach it to so on windy days it blows all over the place. this net is worth the money.

The Net is great, but....., February 20, 2011

The setup is easy, the net is great. The quality seems great. The only negative is the hitting mat, it lasted 10 swings and the green fake grass layer ripped off the mat. I bought this for the net not the mat so i am very pleased and would recommend.

All I have to say is that this net is second to none! Very easy set up and even looks cool. It has a huge hitting area and accomodates every club in the bag. Aside from an all out shank, this thing will grab whatever you throw at it. I've ripped ball after ball at its hanging target and it still looks brand new. For anyone who seeks to groove their swing in the garage or the backyard, the Callaway Quad net is the way to go!

I love the ease of set up and take down of the Callaway Quad Net. It pops up in no time and with just two rods you are done. The net seems to be very strong, so I have no worries about the net lasting. The best thing is that since the net can be taken down quickly, so it will not get damaged by the elements.

This is a great practice net, especially if you have limited room in your yard.
It was easy to assemble right out of the box and was equally easy to break down.
The netting itself seems very durable and the back drop helps keep the golfballs neatly in front.
I highly recommend it!

Troubled before I found the pocket containing the stakes, August 22, 2011
By Simon A. Robbie (Bradfordwoods, PA)
|
|
Set it up. Tapped a few balls in and the slightest wind caused it to twist and collapse. Once I figure out how to get it back in the carrying bag, I'm sending it right back. Waste of time and money. Don't understand all the positive comments. This should be super strong and come with a launch pad for about 2/3 or less price.
So, I had opened the box in the house when I initially set it up. Just before I was going to send it back today, I found a pocket in the middle of the carrier containing instructions and stakes. With the stakes in the ground, it wasn't falling over anymore.
The instructions also showed me how to get it back into the bag without much problem. There's a bit of a knack to doing it so I don't feel bad. Ok, so I'm keeping it. As long as you put it down on a flat surface, it should do the job.

Best Hitting Net, August 20, 2011
By Bill5416

Purchased this net a few months ago and haven't experienced any issues. It's by far the best net I've ever used. It's easy to put up and once you fold it back up the first time it's a breeze from then on. I prefer hitting standard golf balls for feel and this net can handle any shot from any club. My schedule doesn't always allow me the time to get to the course/ range but this net helps me to continue to improve and work on my golf swing.

Net was exactly as advertised, and works well, August 6, 2011
By D. Edwards (Florida, USA)
|
|
For some interesting reason, some reviewers suggest that it's best for two persons to set-up this practice net. I don't understand; I've got an injured foot, and I got it up alone in about 8 minutes the very first time (and that included reading the instructions). Took about 5 minutes to take it down. As to the net, it's large enough to practice full swings with just about any club, assuming the common sense to move closer as the clubs get higher. The net adequately stops all of my hit balls without any apparent wear, and the quality appears good. I imagine that a beginner could have problems with shanks and continually missing the hanging target, but it seems even a reasonably experienced duffer would not have much trouble hitting the target which no doubt will assist in keeping undue wear down. The net is a little heavy, and hauling it back and forth takes some energy, but leaving it up Summer afternoons is not an option in my location due to afternoon thunderstorms. The stakes are a little wimpy, but that's easily cured. The net is substantial but flexible, and thus far is serving its purpose very well. This net is, of course, primarily meant for outdoors (or maybe a garage) due to its height. If you are serious about practicing your swing at home and you have the yard, this is a good, sensible alternative to driving to the range for swing practice (although it can't replace range practice as part of a well rounded practice regimen). There's no substitute to hitting real balls with real swings carrying real club speed.

Callaway Golf Net, August 3, 2011
By setto69 (Mountain House, CA)
|
|
The Callaway Quad golf net is fantastic. I have been using it now for approximately (3) weeks and I have hit more than 1,000 real golf balls into it. Let me tell you that this thing can take a hit. My swing is around 100 MPH and the balls strike the target in the picture and fall gently to the ground below. I have also taken the target down and tested the net and it does just fine. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I would say that of all the golf nets out there this one is definitely the strongest and most durable one. If you want your real golf balls to remain in the golf net and not to bounce off all (4) corners of your garage buy the Callaway Quad golf net. Their are plenty of cheap golf nets on the internet and if you want to remodel your drywall when the ball fly's through the net then go ahead and save a few bucks. If you are a dedicated and responsible golfer then this is the price you pay for reliability.

This thing is awesome, August 1, 2011
By JohnInCO (Denver, CO)
|
|
I've played a little bit of golf on and off in the past but now that the kids are a bit older I'm trying to get back in and really make it an ongoing activity. I've been trying to practice my swing as much as possible but I've found it hard to get to the driving range on a consistent basis. I wanted to find a net I could hit into and this this is awesome.
First of all its huge so it catches everything I hit at it. My wife saw it in the backyard and was shocked how big it was. I started hitting foam balls into it because I was worried about balls getting away and breaking something. After I saw that everything was going into the net, I moved on to real golf balls. As much fun as foam/wiffle balls are there's no substitute for a real golf ball. You can really tell when you hit it well or poorly when you make contact wiht the club.
Some peope talked about how loud the target was so I was hesitant to put it on but after awhile I tried it out. It didn't make much noise at all! Its made of cloth and when you hit into it, the top is secured but the bottom is not so it looks like its catching the balls. Its really satisfying! I even like the sound it makes. The neighbor's house is very close and they never heard me out there.
I love this net. On the first day I hit 300 golf balls into the net and the only down side was how sore I was the next day since I was really swinging hard in the back yard! I love having this net and highly recommend it.
I got the callaway hitting matt with it and the two paired together works very well!

Well worth it, June 12, 2011
By K. Moon (us)
|
|
This was a bit expensive but I feel like it was money well spent. Unlike the fiberglass poles of my old cheap golf net, these poles are metal. The old fiberglass poles began to crack and splinter which is why I had to replace it. This design is great because it opens and folds back up very easily (folding it back up required 5 minutes of fiddling at first but it's easy now). Like any net, it is susceptible to falling over in winds but there is no helping that. The ball doesn't always drop into the net (the fabric in the middle will catch it and spit it back out over the front lip) but it's not a big deal. I feel comfortable swinging full speed with my driver and wood into the fabric but wouldn't do it into the bare net repeatedly. This allows me the chance to practice swinging at home nearly every day because heading to the range that often just isn't practical (time and $).

poor designe, December 26, 2011
By Samuelle B. Goulds
|
|
The picture displayed of this golf net makes it appear as if the suspended target is in the back of the net, but it isn't. The target is a light piece of fabric suspended from two ties in the front of the net and hangs loose with nothing to secure the bottom. When you hit a ball into the the target, the bottom flips up, engulfs the ball, the weight of the ball causes it to unfold and drop the ball out on the ground where it rolls or bounces away. Ideally, the target should be mounted in the back of the net so the balls will stay confined in the floor area to make it easier to retrieve balls.
I regret making this purchase and when the time comes to replace it, I'll not buy a Callaway practice net.

Okay poor quality, December 7, 2011
By Oscar Andres Guevara (Fayetteville, AR)
|
|
REVIEW:
Poor quality, but this is exactly what you want to hit in the back yard.
The size is great, I put it together on my own, but you might want to go with the smaller one if you're more accurate than me (I'm a beginner).
It folds up great, to the size of a large poster. The bag is great too. It's a little tricky to fold up, but I have something that folds up like this already so it was a piece of cake.
Takes about 10 minutes to assemble once you got it down.
If you dont put the back net up, it is both loud and the bounce is erratic.
MY 2 BIGGEST ISSUES:
1. The item is not made by Callaway, it is IZZO. Callaway wont even respond to it, they just forward you to IZZO.
WARNING ****** 2. The stakes are awful! Shameful quality, rusted and bent when i got them. IZZO told me to shop for suitable ones myself and FAX THEM A RECEIPT. What the heck? I must be the only idiot to think that a 1/8" piece of rusty rod is substandard. *********
