Nice Little pump, October 28, 2009
By Kenton Lee
|
|
This is a nice little lightweight pump. Like most mini-portable pumps, don't expect it to be able to pump tires to 80 psi. It'll just give you enough pressure to get home and no more. My tests at home demonstrated I can pump it about 60 psi before I got all tired out. If you bend the lock lever 135 degrees (not 90 degrees), the seal between the valve and the pump is quite good, even to 100 psi. However, when I pumped my tire to 100 psi using a hand pump, and tried to top it off with this pump, I could not push any more pressure into the tire.. Using this pump makes you appreciate a floor pump! It does not have a 2 way stroke action. But since you need to brace against something strong, the push-only action is actually beneficial. I recommend you practice pumping at home because your state-of-mind would be quite different somewhere on a road far from home. I found a good stable position is to lay the wheel on the ground and use my multi-tool to shim the head. This allows you to use gravity to push the air in.
I like the feature with the two heads for both valve types. It stores securely on the seatpost waterbottle braze-on's on my bike. With the velcro, never worried about it falling off my bike and had not dropped it once in over 1000 miles of riding. I'm planning to get another for my other bike.

The Best Bargain Pump Around..., April 4, 2010
By John Thomas (New England.....USA)
|
|
I bought this pump last summer when I bought a new bike as part of my new found exercise program. I will tell you up front that I am no true bicycle enthusiast, nor any kind of expert. My bike is one of those comfy beach cruiser models with a single speed and old fashioned up right handlebars. My only concerns in buying a pump was making sure I had one along that was easy enough to use and solid enough to not break on me after a couple of uses. Getting sidelined by a low or flat tire that is not really badly damaged somewhere away from home is not like the similar situation with a car. Just about anywhere you go there is usually someone that happens by on a bike that does do their riding a little better prepared. But of course its very convenient and smart to have your own along.
This Schwinn pump is just about as cheap in price as they come. But is to me is a good value, very solidly built, and a breeze to use. Its lock on nozzle fits any type of tire stem I have tried it on, (I think there are only two types anyway), never allows any air to leak out in between pumps, and its just short and fat enough that it supplies a good amount of air per every stroke of your labor. Its mounting system is as easy and secure as they can offer in my opinion. The mounting bracket is compact and easy to attach to any bike, and the pump itself both snaps in place and carries velcro straps for extra security. Nothing like being far from home and seeing your tire is a getting a little flat, only to realize your pump went bye bye somewhere miles back along the trail. The only way you will shake this little jewel loose is to wreck your whole bike or lose it.
In conclusion, be advised that this little pump is not one I would recommend if you are the type to habitually allow tires to go completely flat before you figure its worth your time doing anything about it. Its volume is just a little small for pumping a tire up to a full 80 lbs from scratch. You can manage it, but it will take a little muscle and remembering well that patience is indeed a virtue. If you're more of a true bike aficionado, than I would suggest moving up to a higher volume, more expensive pump. However as an emergency or everyday pump for just topping off your tires, I feel its the very best tire pump around for the price they ask. Its solid, very easy to use, fits any tire, and as mentioned before, has a top notch bracket and snap/strap in system. You will not find a better pump for the price. Recommended...

Schwinn Mini Pump, January 5, 2009
By M. Turchin (NY, NY)
|
|
I bought the Schwinn mini pump from Kmart today, and I can say that I am very happy with my purchase. It was very easy to install on my bike where the water bottle would mount if I had one. It hangs off to the side so that you can even still mount a bottle holder there (but is small enough that it doesn't get in the way), and comes with extra long screws so that you wont come up short on installation even if you have extra accessories. The pump is easy to use, and has 2 slots for the 2 different types of air nozzles (which came in handy b/c my bike has both nozzle types: Presta in the front and Schrader in the back). It's sturdy, and looks/feels well made. It's new, so it hasn't had a chance to break, yet. But if anything goes wrong I'll be sure to post another review

Works well for my comfort/hybrid bike, October 6, 2009
By Ashok Krishnamurthy (Cincinnati, OH USA)
|
|
I needed a basic portable pump for my Giant Sedona hybrid and bought this pump based on its reviews and the attractive price. It works well - ie. frame mounts well and satisfies the pressure needs for my comfort/hybrid bike tires (they don't need more than 100psi max that this one provides).

Great little pump, September 9, 2009
By AcornMan (Denver, CO)
|
|
I have used this pump on Schrader and Presta valves and it worked brilliantly on both. I was able to get good air pressure into the new tubes and complete my rides as if nothing had gone wrong.
A couple of the pump's features are particularly nice. First, I like how it not only snaps into the holder that attaches to the frame but also has a velcro strap to hold it securely in place. No worries about it ever falling off no matter how bumpy your ride, and I can leave it on while my bike is on my car rack. Second, while pumping there's a lever to hold the nozzle firmly over the tube stem so it doesn't leak or slip off. In short, this pump did exactly what it was supposed to do, and you certainly can't beat the price.

Not even out of the store, November 6, 2010
By R. Claros (SoCal)

Sears and Kmart sell this pump. I happened upon it and tried it out in the store. On the first pump the handle fell off and into my hand. It was clear when I inspected the product that the handle is 'pressed' into the shaft of the pump. There is no screw holding it in place. A very small, hard to see crack developed at the juncture causing the catastrophic failure. These pumps are designed for one purpose...to get you back home in case of an emergency. It will not help if the pump itself doesn't work when you find yourself stranded. No way would I buy this pump...ever.

Solid Bargain Pump, Good for a Backup/Emergency, September 2, 2010
By spg (Boston)
|
|
This bike pump is very cheap, and provides a decent value for emergency use or for topping off your bike tires every once in a while. I would not recommend purchasing this as your primary method for inflating bike tires - it takes a lot of time to fill a tire from scratch. Since I've purchased this product, there hasn't really been a time that I've used it instead of the larger pump I keep in my basement - other than just to try it out. I do have it mounted to my bike just in case I run into trouble while out on a ride, but this situation hasn't come up yet. The mounting mechanism is well-done - simple, easy, and a solid fit.
I'd recommend this product as a great budget item for topping off or emergency use, but would not advise buying it as your primary bike pump. It makes a great backup.

OK, July 18, 2010

This is a decent product if you happen to get a flat tire on the trail in the middle of nowhere. However, if you want to pump your tire up to normal PSI forget about it. It just doesn't have the strength that a gas station air pump has to inflate the tire. I think I lost more air than I put in when trying to "top off" the air pressure on my tires.

Good pump if all the parts are there, January 17, 2011
By one guys opinion (Jacksonville, Florida)
|
|
Pump seems solid enough and has an OK mounting bracket. The pump is not round. This is a minus if you have other round pump mounting brackets that you want to use on other bikes as this pump's shape makes those unusable. I have multiple bikes and have leftover round mounting brackets on those bikes. This pump won't fit into those preventing me from moving this pump to a different bike when taking that bike. I think they overthought this "feature." With so many round pumps out there, why bother making a non-standard shaped pump?
The pump I received is missing the rubber insert necessary to seal it to the valve stem. At the price, it is not worth paying to ship it back. I put it on the shelf and will try to come up with a piece of rubber hose I can cut to use to replace the missing piece.
Based on the odd shape, I will not buy this pump again. And, with the missing insert, the one I received is not currently usable either. If you get a complete pump it is probably a fine pump.
At the price, it is probably an OK gamble???

Where are the instructions???, December 5, 2010
By Ellebell222 (Bay Area, California)

To save my life I can't figure out how to use this thing to inflate our kids' soccer ball. With the little pin/needle thingy it It looks like it SHOULD be able to do it, but neither me nor my husband can figure it out. The air continues to pump out the other side. I looked on the schwinn site for downloadable PDF instructions but there is no such thing, and the instructions aren't printed on the tire. Maybe it's obvious to some people how to do this, but not to everyone.

not durable, November 26, 2010
By Jon (Arizona)

I had one of these on my mountain bike for a little over a year. I rode the bike with the pump attached maybe once a week. Today I had to use the pump and I found that theplastic face had deteriorated... I tried to use it and the thin plastic face broke off and the internal parts fell out! For the price, not a bad product, but it's not nearly reliable enough to use as an emergency pump.

Awful pump, September 7, 2009
By Christine A. Henkel

|
I spent a lot of time futilely pumping tires and getting nowhere. I finally figured out the pump wasn't working (duh). I'm new to this, so possibly I'm doing something wrong (did read the sparse instructions), but I've used other pumps and they actually put air in the tire. This one did sometimes, but not others. It's been a frustrating experience and I'm going to quit being such a cheapskate.

Schwinn bike pump does not fit bar on Schwinn bike, April 21, 2010
By SH (CT)
|
|
I recently purchased a new Schwinn bike and thought this was going to be the perfect air pump for on the road emergencies. Unfortunately, it not only does not fit the bar size to be installed on the bike, but it also has screws to attach it to the bike, but the bike has no holes. I specifically selected the Schwinn mame because I thought it would be compatible. I guess I got exactly what I paid for...not much. The velcro does nothing to help in the installation as the bar is too fat for the length of the velcro. Duouble skunked.....darn it.
Since then, I have ordered another pump which also has the tire guage on it at twice the price..I can only hope this one, upon arrival, proves to be a better purchase.
Guess I will learn that buying on line is not always a good thing, althouth very convenient! Wish I could return it as I have not been able to use it.

Very handy tool when you have 3 tires, August 25, 2011
By S. Carlson (Huntington Beach, CA, USA)

|
My wife has a new Schwinn Meridian 3-Wheel bike and while the tires are sturdy, air loss does happen. It's nice to have a pump with you at all times to combat this. This Schwinn piece attaches easily anywhere thanks to the velcro that it comes with. It inflates the tire as quickly as you can work the pump and fits on the valve stem very well. Just a side note, the gold coloring on the body of the pump matches very well with the gold trim on her bike.

Only works for vey low pressure tires, August 17, 2011
By D. Rosenthal
|
|
First and foremost, these pumps are for adding small amounts of air on the road after changing/patching a tube essentially they are stop gaps making the bike rideable until one can get to the nearest floor pump or gas station to fill up the tire to the proper pressure. That being said I was disappointed when this product was unable to effectively fill my flat 700 x 38c tire past 30 psi. Considering the tire normally is inflated to 90 psi and the manufacturer's minimum is 50 psi having 30 psi in this is equivalent to 12 psi in a wide MTB tire, essentially useless. The problem is once you got past 30 psi there seems to be way too much pressure the valve leaks then pops off if the valve manages to stay attached the arm strength required to pump above 50 psi is so much that you risk completely brake the pump handle. This is the problem with these pump types as far as this unit the fit and finish were fine, mount was good, and it does have a separate presta valve, however, the valve lock needs a rethink it just slips off way to easily under pressure. Take it from me buy yourself a c02 inflator yes it's a one shot deal (you only use a road pump for fixing flats anyway) but at least you can throw them in your pocket and additionally you can do a complete tube change on the road without having to look for gas station with a schrader pump.

Good Price But Limited Usefulness, June 22, 2011
By Jaun Carlos
|
|
I purchased this pump after seeing all the great reviews it had received, and after having used it, I am confused as to why it has so many great ratings.
THE GOOD:
The pump is inexpensive (probably the cheapest pump one can find) and very small/portable. It also has slots for both Schrader valves (like a car tire) and Presta valves.
THE BAD:
This pump achieves its small size by sacrificing pumping power. A lot of pumping power. The amount of effort required to fill a mountain bike tire from empty to around 35 PSI can be a 5-10 minute endeavor which will tire your arms.
The included mounting bracket did not fit on the wide tubes of my aluminum mountain bike frame, but did fit okay on my road bike. I don't like how the bracket holds the pump off to the side, instead of in line with the tube. Another thing to note is that the pump cylinder is elliptical in shape, instead of circular, which makes it incompatible with other frame pump mounts.
CONCLUSION:
If you are looking for an emergency pump, I would recommend looking elsewhere. I personally ended up getting the Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge and gave this schwinn pump away.

For Road Bike Tires Expect ~40 PSI, June 20, 2011
By BlueSkyRains

|
While it can sustain higher PSI, it's difficult not to lose significant pressure to 40 PSI in road bike tires when either herking-jerking to get it to pump or when removing from the stem. I'll keep this pump to limp flats home until I can purchase something better.

This is a great back-up for travel, July 28, 2010
By Edan C (YOUNGSTOWN, FL, US)
|
|
I have had this on my Schwinn Prelude road bike ever since I once had a popped tire from falling and had to walk all the way home because I had no patches nor pump. It can pump up a tire enough to have get you home, but you can't pump a whole lot of pressure with this because you can't get as much force on the handle since it is not sitting on the ground and you can't use both hands. In other words you still need to have a regular pump at the house, but this is a good back-up for when you're on the move and can't tote a stand-up pump. I love how easy it is to use on both Presta valves and Schrader valves (You don't have to screw on an adapter or anything like some of the competitors' pumps that I have seen.) It is also fairly easy to mount--all you do is take of the water bottle holder on your bike and put it back on with this under the holder.

nice pump for on the road, December 3, 2009
By I. Durham
|
|
This pump does the job. Fits on the frame nicely and is easy to install. You could probably use it as your main pump, although I think most people will be happier with a standard floor pump. I have only used mine a few times, when I need air away from my home and don't have my main pump handy. Each time I've had to use it though, it's worked well and it's still in great shape. A good value, I think-- especially when you're out of air a need it!

Great Buy, October 24, 2010
By G. F.
|
|
The first time I tried it, I was away from home and ended up deflating the tire just trying to insert the valve tip. Luckily we had also taken a more familiar pump. Once home, I deflated the tire to try again. I placed the schrader valve at 2 O'clock (back tire), held down the upper part of the stem while inserting the tip then quickly locking the clip. This time the pump worked great and didn't take long at all to air up the (max 65psi) tire hard enough to ride. I had to use the center of my palm for pumping because of a still-healing sprained wrist. It's now mounted on down tube under the water bottle holder with the screws included which are a bit longer than my original ones since it didn't fit along the seat tube on the existing mounting holes (smaller mountain bike.) I'll need to look for screws a bit longer to make sure it stays secured though I've already taken it for a couple of rides without problems. Four stars only because I just recently got it so can't attest to durability but it looks and feels very well made. At eight bucks with free shipping it's an excellent buy.

Do not buy! POS made in China product will break your valve., September 13, 2011
By David L. Gong (United States)
|
|
Do not buy this pump if you own a bike that has a presta valve, the presta valve hold inserts are too small and will break your valve upon removal from the pump. The hole is so small that if you put barely enough pressure for it to seal it will get lodged in there. After the stupid pump tore the seal from my presta valve and the tire deflated, in order for me to get the valve off I had to rip it from the tire and then use a pair of pliers to take it out. I have inflated many presta tires perfectly fine with other pumps but this Schwinn Pump truly is a piece of a ****. Spend the few extra bucks and buy pump not made in China. DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP!!

Schwinn Junk Pump, October 15, 2011
By Tom G. (Rutherford, NJ United States)
|
|
The Schwinn Air Expander frame pump is a elegantly looking crafted tool that would be the envy of Swedish designers. Unfortunately it is a useless piece of junk. It has dual nozzle design. A Schrader and Presta valves. The Schrader valve pin compressor on the nozzle does not push the pin down on the value so you can't inflate the tire with it. The pin pusher is also made of soft plastic so after a few uses the pin pusher is worn down and useless anyway. The locking lever on the pump does not lock on the valves and will come off when pumping. Since the tool has two nozzles you need to cover the one you are not using, otherwise the air will be pump out of the uncovered valve and not into the tire. The bike mount only attaches to one model of Schwinn water bottle cage. It has a Velcro belt for very small diameter bike frames the size of a chap-stick. The instructions and product information are a bare minimal which are on the back of the packaging. My suggestion is simple, do not buy this Schwinn pump.

Decent pump for the price, August 16, 2011
By J. Hengenius (Ohio)
|
|
I keep this pump in my pannier along with some patches for on-the-road flat repair. It's nothing special, but it gets the job done.
Pros:
The pump is compact; it takes up little space in a bag or pannier.
Alternatively, the included mounting bracket is set up to attach to braze-ons.
The pump fits both Presta and Schrader valves. I've occasionally had to mix tube types (when a tube was unpatchable and the nearest store only had one valve type in stock). It's nice to have a multi-valve pump when riding on mixed tubes.
Cons:
The pump is compact; the small cylinder means it will take a while to fully inflate a tube.
The pump fits both Presta and Schrader valves. The unused valve adapter MUST be plugged or it will allow leakage. For a while, I found it impossible to get my tires to the desired PSI. Even when I locked the pump, I heard air leaking. The pump has two rubber plugs that cover the adapters when not in use. I finally wised up and plugged the unused Presta adapter when filling a Schrader tube - no more leakage and a much firmer tire! Unfortunately, the pressure will displace the plug unless it's held in place while pumping. This can make pumping a bit awkward.
Summary:
It's cheap and compact - nice for roadside refills. I keep one with me whenever I'm on my bike. I do keep a stand pump at home, though. This hand pump isn't the most convenient way to top off tires before a long ride.

Good pump, poor bracket, July 25, 2011
By Peter A Shellabarger
|
|
Only had to use the pump one time, but it was able to pump up my front tire (schroeder valve) enough to make it home from work on a patched tire. The handle is comfortable and the design seems to work well. Not sure about high pressures and presta valves as I haven't used it for that purpose.
While the pump is good, the mounting bracket it comes with is crap. It's plastic and is designed to attach to your water bottle screws. I placed the bracket under my water bottle holder between it and the bike frame. When I tightened up the screws the plastic bracket cracked, broke, and fell off the bike. Without the bracket, I had to jerry rig it with some velcro strips and have since attached it to one of the supports on my rack.

Beautiful small pump!, July 21, 2011
By sdg
|
|
This nice, small, portable pump appears to be of a very good quality and should last for a very long time. It gets very difficult to pump beyond 25-30 psi, even though it is supposed to be able to deliver up to 80psi of air pressure, and for a road bike or even a hybrid, you need higher tire pressures. This pump should get you home if you have a flat tire and cannot fix it by the roadside. I suppose that is what it really was designed for, but if you're looking for a pump that you intend to use at home, you need to get a larger pump with an attached manometer.

Extremely Hard to use, July 11, 2011
By Eracki
|
|
I bought this pump along with a new mongoose mountain bike, thinking I would use it to put air in the new bike but after about 15 pumps, I decide to just roll my bike to the nearest gas station and do it there...although had I used this pump it would have been a much better workout.
It does what it says but it is extremely hard to get my bike up to 50 PSI. Thankfully I don't have a road bike that needs 100+ PSI, which would have been hell. I ended up just sticking it in my bag so I that I'll use on the road on emergencies but I just ordered a foot pump that I'll use at home and top the bike off when I'm using it.

Great pump for on the road problems, May 27, 2011
By nwilkey
|
|
This is a great little pump if you find yourself from home and air leaking out of your tire. I hope to not need it often, but it is a great insurance policy if you are far from home and experience a leak. This pump wont get your tire up to their maximum inflation, but that is not the intent. Instead, it is designed to keep you going until you can get home and fix a tire problem.
For the money, you can't beat this little pump. It mounts nicely on your bike and looks good to. I recommend it!

Pump is excellent; treat the clip with care..., May 23, 2011
By Jetypo
|
|
This pump is excellent and is at a fine price. The tip includes Schrader and Presta valve fittings so you can pump up your tires with very little effort. The only drawback--and it's a big one--is that the clip is not a strong one. Mount it on your bike and don't bang it into anything. If you have one wreck that impacts the pump, the clip will break. Other than that drawback, this pump is quite nice.

The pump mounted to my frame really nice, they included two extra long screws to mount with my bottle cage which was a nice plus...filled a flat tire to test the pump and it wasn't that bad,it took awhile but let's be honest, this pump is for emergency purposes on the trail or street and for the low cost it can't be beat.

How do you mount it?, September 22, 2010

Bought this pump for my Schwinn Lakeshore cruiser I recently bought. It comes with a snap in holder with Velcro strap and two screws, but nothing I can see to attach it to the bike.. almost looks like it is missing the other half of the holder bracket. I've sent two emails to Schwinn and heard nothing back from them.. very disappointing and the ad only mentions that it can easily be attached. Do you have to have a water bottle holder on the bike in order to attach this pump? ..very weird.

Reasonable value and performance. This has a large volume/stroke and so pumps-up a tire quickly but getting the tire pressure high (i.e. hard tire) requires a lot of force for the last strokes. Not recommended for ladies or the weak of biceps!

Not bad for a small pump..., August 14, 2010
By Edward B (California)
|
|
Honestly, Schwinn's frame pump is a lot better than carrying a standard size pump on your back! It's nice and compact that it can also fit well into your cargo shorts, so what are the odds of that? This versatile pump is able to pump both Presta and Schrader valves, and still is able to have additional adapters attached to the head of the pump. Like an adapter to pump a basketball for the Schrader portion of the pump (if you know what I mean)...
All in all, the small pump is great all around, but it'll take you a while to air up whatever you are trying to pump vs a standard pump that takes half the time. I still recommend this pump not only because of its price, but for its two for one pump design. It helped me out in a emergency flat situation while biking out on the road, it's good knowing that I have purchased a pump that's well mounted onto my bike frame.
It's definitely worth the purchase if you are a frequent rider.

Great for smaller job, July 19, 2010
By Aaron N. Zint (Redding, CA)

Doesn't work real well if you've got a complete flat in that it won't pump it up to the tire's max potential but then again you can't expect that much out of something so small. Its great to get you from a to b if you are low and the dual valve settings are great when you have two bikes with different valves.

Hard to beat for the price, December 14, 2010
By T. Brown (Virginia)

I don't know how Schwinn can make a profit from this pump at eight bucks so I can't say anything bad about it. The pump snaps nicely into the clip until you put it on the bike. The stand off distance of the clip seems just a little too small after you bolt it to the frame but the velcro strap makes it secure enough.

Regular Tire Valve HELP!!!!, October 12, 2011
By zachary a schiffman (MIAMI, FL United States)
|
|
I was about to return this thing, but couldn't figure out why it was so popular. It wouldn't fit my regular old bicycle tire. Supposedly it is compatible with regular old bike tires (aka Shrader - after research on wikipedia) It comes with no directions on how to convert it to pump up a regular damn tire. The Topeak website is oblivious too. Finally went to Youtube and it showed me. You have to unscrew the cap, then pull the black plastic thing out and pull that apart into two pieces and flip them around, put it all back in and then screw the top back on. RIDICULOUS I HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS!!! Nice pump though

small profile / does its job, October 11, 2011
By solocanoe (fort smith, ar)
|
|
So the bike shop wanted me to have the co2 units - with the hardware to make it work...and yes, that system has a very small profile, and great for tube changes or flats.
but what if I'm just 'low' in a tire? not changing a tube? I found myself pedaling to a gas station for the 2nd time and said 'enough' and ordered this pump on here.
I won't use the frame mount stuff as my bike stays outside at work a lot in a public-use rack, but it's pretty small and fits in my little 'bike goodies bag' in my pack pretty well.
best of all - hey, it's a pump! If I am just a little low, I can add air to my liking without messing with those co2 units.

Works..to a certain extent, September 4, 2011
By kennyszub
|
|
This product is mediocre at best.
Construction - solid, metal and plastic parts. Won't break easily.
Usability - poor. Pumping is awkward because the handle that folds out to allow you to pump does not lock into position, therefore it is difficult to pump.
Pressure reached - low. I haven't tested it with a gauge but you won't be able to get your wheel nearly as pumped up as a upright pump.
Overall - good as an emergency road pump. Would not recommend for general use. Somewhat poor design, but solidly built.

Pumps but won't mount, February 5, 2012
By R. Wilcox
|
|
I don't understand how no one mentions that it won't mount on the bike! Oh, the screw holes line up and velcro is supplied and it also has places for tie-wraps in the mount so the mount can fit on almost any bike. But the pump won't fit in the mount when the mount is on the bike!! The head of the pump bumps the frame that it is mounted on and prevents fitting into the mount. Arrghh. Epic design fail. I guess I'll have to pack this pump with other gear.

Fell constantly, February 4, 2012
By Tamas

I haven't tried using this to actually pump a tire in the last few months. All I know is that it constantly falls out of the bracket it comes with, causing me to stop where I am and pick it up. As someone who bikes in the dark now and again, it's not a good feeling to be looking for your pump on a road in the dark. I put it in my bag now, but, space is at a premium and I wish I didn't have to put it there. I would have returned it by now, honestly, but, life happens and it's been too long. I just wish I had kept looking elsewhere for a pump.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, February 1, 2012
By Jacob D. Frantz
|
|
IT IS CRAP. I won't buy schwinn products any more between this and the helmet I got. It's only schraeder, destroyed the pin on a presta tire when I clamped it down, and it's such a tight fit on schraeder that it RIPPED THE VALVE OFF OF MY GOO TUBE. Literally destroys tubes.
To compare it to the Topeak pocket master I just bought and love, it's got fairly high volume so it's a pain to push for a hand pump, but fills up kinda quickly. This means that higher pressures are much harder though, and I recommend low volume for a portable pump. THEN it's such a pain to get off the tire that you tend to lose a lot of air. The frame mount broke apart, just crap. Also have to be careful how you mount it so the handle doesn't come lose and get in the way of your feet/gears/chain.
Horrible product from a horrible company, get the topeak pocket rocket http://www.amazon.com/Topeak-Pocket-Rocket-Master-Blaster/dp/B000FI6XGC/ref=pd_sbs_sg_1

i bought this pump for my road bike which has tires with a psi ratin of 120. i used this pump for a while until the head cracked from the pressure and the air would escape. Schwinn Aluminum Frame PumpThis is a good compact pump. I would have given it a much better rating except that the bracket supplied with the pump had both gripping clamp lost a claw on both clamps in less than 1 1/2 miles of easy cycling. The only reason I didn't lose the pump is simply that I had the other side of the clamps captured under a water bottle carrier base. The pump itself worked fine but don't expect to set any speed records with it.

This bike pump works perfectly for what it is. Sure, you could get faster inflation from a larger pump, or compressed air, but who has that handy when you get a flat out on the trail? I love that it connects using the same two screws as my water bottle, so no extra hardware!
