5.0 out of 5 stars.  This works great!, December 27, 2008
By Dame Jayne of the Divine Chocolatier (Rue du Congrès 24 1000 Brussels, Belgium)
I'm taking care of an elderly gentleman who is bedridden and spills are a major nuisance. This hands free adapter, combined with the better bottle, make keeping hydrated much easier and neater.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Gateway Camel back, February 7, 2009
By ChaCha (Santa Clarita, Ca)
Works good, Got it for a good price ($5).

My only complaint is that my water bottle (.75 L) only lasts me about 15 minutes on a bike ride when I have this adapter hooked up (which is good because I am drinking more water... but means I have to carry a refill).

If you plan on using it a lot, skip out on converting your bottle and just get one of those $25 actual pouch thingys.

If you do get this, get one of those Camelbak "Camel clips" for $3 so you can clip the straw to your shirt, other wise (unless you have a back pack that pulls the straw up through your back pack strap) your mouth piece will just dangle inaccessibly.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Perfect for Bicycle Commuting, February 2, 2011
By Robert House
I bought this while I was commuting to school by bicycle. I do not have a bottle cage on the bike that I was riding, but I was wearing a backpack with pocket made for a water bottle. This worked out well because I could leave the bottle in the backpack and put this over my shoulder - I also put a velcro band around the shoulder strap and the tube to keep it from flying around too much. Because of the design it takes a little more suction than the standard CamelBak to get a drink, but it is not so much that it is a problem.

I would recommend it for someone looking to do the same thing - most backpacks anymore have that side water bottle holder and the CamelBak bottle this goes with is really nice.

The backpack was great. Perfect for a day hike. Holds what a 7 year old needs but the water bottle leaks.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works exactly as it should. No complaints at all!, May 9, 2011
By Jon Gerow (Hainesville, IL USA)
CamelBak has this down to a science for sure. I bought a Camelbak backpack sight unseen because I wanted something with more storage than my current Camelbak. Low and behold, the backpack wasn't the kind with the bladder like every Camelbak I had prior! It did come with a nice bottle, but I have bottle cages on my bike. If I wanted to drink from a bottle, I don't want to fiddle with getting it out of my backpack. This adapter totally solves the problem by turning the water bottle in the backpack into a real CamelBak hydration system. Perfect in every way and the bottle is actually way easier to clean and fill than the bladder. It just doesn't hold as much water.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  When you don't want to switch to bladders, this is the answer, May 9, 2012
By Erica (Miami, Florida)
This is exactly what I was looking for. I use CamelBak water bottles daily, but wanted a little more ease using them during certain day-trip like situations and music festivals. I also don't want to deal with the hassle of cleaning and drying a bladder. I bought this and used a recent Disney trip as a test-run and it worked wonderfully. It was easy to use, I drank a ton more water than usual, the water flows really well and it was simple to clean after. For it's purpose, it works great! My only complaint is that I had to order the clip separately and it really isn't as easy to use without the clip. It should come with it!!
