4.0 out of 5 stars.  Very good entry level aerobar's, August 17, 2009
By Paul A. White
I was in the market for some clip-on aerobars to help improve my cycling time in bi's/du's/tri's. My initial research found clip-on's in the range of $30 to well over $400. I wanted to stay in the lower range for my first try and came across these. The reviews were fairly good on these so I pulled the trigger and ordered them.

They arrived and had a box full of extra's that for me weren't necessary for the installation. There were instructions in the box, but it's really pretty straight-forward putting them on your bicycle. Within 20 mins I had them on the bike and ready for a ride. The aerobars performed admirably, especially for the price. There are two reasons I didn't give them 5/5 stars. First being the padding, simple velcro straps keep them in place and they work just fine, though some improvements could be made. The other thing is that not all the adjustments can be made without impacting other adjustments. I wanted to adjust the vertical angle of the forearm rests and in order to do so, you have to remove the padding, and the forearm rests themselves to get to the hex nut that controls the angle. There is also a minute horizontal forearm adjustment that can be made by rotating the forearm rests while the two hex nuts that hold it in place are loose. So the big complaint there is that I wish I could make individual adjustments without impacting some of the other tweaks I've made. Once you've got all the the adjustments made it's not a big deal and I wouldn't consider this a show stopper for the aerobars.

Overall the areobars do what you expect them to, and once fitted properly are comfortable and durable. For this price you can't expect much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent aerobar, April 20, 2007
By Trikike (Lima, PERU)
I bought this to aerobar in amazon. It comes armed, and it operates with handlebars of 26,0 and 31.8. He is very easy to install, and very stable. Shifters even allows to install barend to him, something that think to put to my bike soon. 100% recommendable one. The carbon version weighs 30gr less, and costs more of the double!

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Destabilizes your ride, September 26, 2010
By Michael K. Marriott
Let me start by saying that I am an experienced road biker who does not have any problems staying stable on my bike. That is until I tried to get into the aero position with these bars. As soon as I get down on the aero bars maneuvering even the slightest seems hazardous, and at times even riding along in a straight line is difficult. As soon as I hit even the slightest crack or dimple in the road, my bike wants to go out from under me.

I know that not everyone has had the same problems as I did, and it could very well have to do with my bike (Specialized Tarmac). That said, give it a second thought before you try to put aero bars on a bike that was not meant to support the rider in such a low position. My advice is that if you need a time trial bike, get a time trial bike, which has a substantially different design from a road bike. Otherwise, at least try borrowing a pair of bars from a friend to see if your platform stays stabled when you get low.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good price for performance, September 10, 2010
By Triathlon K
Have used this product for 2 months now and in an Olympic distance triathlon. I am quite pleased with its performance. My handlebars have a 31.8 bulge in the middle, but it doesn't extend very far from the stem mounting and my bike computer mounts to my handlebars as well, so I had to mount these a little wider than I would have liked, but with the included shims and a little bit of old inner-tube rubber between the clamp and the handlebars, they don't budge. I mounted them to regular rams-horn road bike handlebars and left my shifters/brakes in the same spot. Don't forget to wrap the end of the arms with bar tape for extra comfort. Getting into an aero tuck makes your back and neck sore for the first week or so, but afterwards, its basically a free 1.5-2mph if there is any wind at all. My only complaint is that when getting out of the saddle on big climbs, you can hit your knee on the pads if you aren't paying attention.

I put these on my new trek hybrid and they are great! Light weight very strong and have improved my over all speed average considerably. Only took 5 minutes to install. I have ridden 200 miles so far and no problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, July 16, 2010
By Eric R. Whitlow (Michigan)
These aero bars are a great product at a reasonable price. I am not into saving weight with my bicycle accessories because I am the heaviest thing on the bike. Save some money and buy this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Profile Design T2 Aerobar Review, June 8, 2009
By Likemike
The Profile Design T2 Aerobar is a great addition to any triathlon bike. I purchased mine at a very reasonable price and had bar end shifters installed. It is very ergonomic and easy to adjust. If you want to shave minutes off your bike leg the T2 is a very economical alternative to the more expensive aerobars available today.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great product, terrible vendor, July 29, 2011
By bakes (Sturgis, MI United States)
Received this product in when expected. Great product. Easy to install. However, the arm pads are not the best, and one of the straps had already fallen off the the pad, making it impossible to attach and use without stitching it back on or glueing it. Tried contacting the vendor, Americancycle, no response. It's now been two weeks and haven't gotten any satisfaction from them. All I wanted was a new pad. So, great product, avoid vendor!! It is unexceptable to be treated this way. Gives Amazon a bad name to deal with companies like this. Its a shame.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Just...Ok, July 8, 2011
By T. Price (USA)
I put these on my road bike 2 weeks ago. They are simple to put on, but a major pain because the plastic pieces fall out while you are screwing it tight. I have the screws torqued down as far as they will go and the bars stick up or fall down. I am going to have to put sport tape under the section of bars to see if it will hold tight then. They are ok on the straight away, but you can be very unstable. These are the first bars I have had like this so I cannot compare. I thought for the price that they would be better. I honestly would not recommend someone else to buy this. Its also made in China.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome aero bar, AWESOME price, June 30, 2011
By Dan (Draper, Utah)
This aero bar is the bar that the majority of athletes have, and most of them pay well over what you pay here. All of the retailers are selling it for 40 to 50 bucks more than this and it is the exact same product. I installed this on my road bike to make it a triathlon bike. I have done 5 triathlons this year using it including a half iron, and full iron man.

It is fairly easy to install, and you can customize it to fit your exact position. The nice part is you can take it off anytime you want.

You need an aero bar, without it you take on too much drag and use too more energy to travel the same distance, this is the best one there is on the market

TIP......buy some handle bar grip it, its better than using it without

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Not a toy, so why is it in this category., May 10, 2011
By KTS (Houston)
These areobars are functional, but could use a couple of modifications. First, let me say that I put them on way small diameter handle bars using thick aluminum shims that I made from bar stock. That was a pain, but that was my fault because I measured wrong (measure twice). That aside, once installed, they work well. my only real gripe is that you have to disassemble it too much to adjust anything. Simple modifications would allow access to all screws without taking the thing apart. Oh well. I would also like it if the arm pads flipped up when not in use. These are my first aeorbars and I love using them. I put them on a cheap trek hybrid, but think they are a great addition. I find the tuck position far less tiring than normal riding position and it is a HUGE advantage when riding into the wind. I gain at least 1 mph without any alteration in how I ride, maybe 2 mph. I won't own a bike without aerobars again. For those who say they are only for time trial or triathlon, that is nonsense. I use it for commuting and it make the ride much better. As for comments from others about destabilization of the bike, there is a little of that, but I quickly got used to it and now feel very confident and comfortable using them. Maybe the issue is with the bike? Get them (or a different set) you will like them. One word of advice, I adjusted mine so the are not really that low. Since these are for a commute there is not disadvantage to having them higher than recommended for optimal performance, and I think they are a little more comfortable in a slightly (about an inch) higher position that recommended by most of the web sites I read on how to position them. I also set them fairly wide apart so my elbows are not tucked in too tight. I think this probably adds to comfort and maybe stability due to the wider base it gives. Anyway, that is my two cents. I'd give them 5 stars if they were easier to adjust as noted above.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Look cool like Lance Armstrong!, May 10, 2011
By Aaron
Good purchase, I don't regret it at all. I bought these handlebars for my road bike because the standard U-shaped handlebars that come with them get pretty uncomfortable on the back and riding posture after a couple of miles. So I bought these bad boys so that I could lean forward some more and utilize a more "natural" feeling grip while riding. They definitely work as advertised and are very comfortable. I looked at a whole bunch of this type of handlebar and they can get pretty expensive. I felt these were relatively inexpensive and they are built solid so no complaints in the quality control department from me. This product also comes with little insert discs just in case your handlebars are not big enough you just insert the disc in between your handlebar rail and your new bars and it fits just fine. All in all, go for it! Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bars for the price!, April 4, 2011
By Enthusiast (Tampa, FL)
I have used this for 2 weeks now.
Works as advertised. Found my most comfortable position after 3 or 4 adjustments.
I did not use the instructions that came with it, easier that way.
Delivery was early.

I will recommend this to a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  areo bars, August 23, 2010
By triman
Great set of areo bars. very comfortable and a great price. very easy to install once I put down the instructions. Only complaint like a few others was that you have to take off the armrest in order to change the angle. i wouldn't have done this but it was loose from the manufacture. Overall a great product and a great price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  The aero bars are awesome, August 8, 2010
By roadrunner (kansas)
The aero bars are awesome. They are comfortable and I like the S-shape, which I wasn't too sure if I would or not. I race sprint and olympic triathlons and duathlons. The aero bars improved my speed by over 1 mph (22 mph). Big band for the buck, and of course they arrived here ahead of schedule.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  'Tri-ing' something new, July 26, 2010
By New to triathlons
I bought these before my first triathlon and really enjoyed them. Only practised with them a few times but it was easy to get the placement right beforehand. The bars are great, the directions are HORRIBLE!! Some of the items the directions were telling me to put together were already together. The lettering and pictures are extremely small and blurry. Once I threw them to the side I had the bars on within a few minutes. I also would have liked some connection to the optional items such as: brackets, water bottle and something for relocating the bike computer.
They were a bargain and for someone just starting into triathlons the costs can get expensive. There might be lighter or nicer aerobars out there but probably not for the price.
Profile Design needs to fix their directions (I purchased a bracket later on and experienced the same thing).

4.0 out of 5 stars.  profile design T2 Clip-on Aerobars, August 9, 2009
By useless (philippines)
Definitely a bang for the buck purchase. infinitely adjustable. Fits oversized and standard base bars. Light enough and minimalist. Just had to buy a new base bar since my drops were aero also and it could not clamp on an oval bar.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good value, June 28, 2009
By Jim (Pensacola, FL)
purchased to replaced profile aerobars with flip up armrests. Very stable, very aero and comfortable. If you tend to ride with your hands on the top bar of your handlebars, there isn't enough space for your hands. Since I ride either in drops,on brake hoods, or in aero...this is not a problem for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Solid product, great price, January 14, 2012
By My average review score is 3.74.. (San Francisco, CA)
I rate items based on three criteria - Does it work as advertised? Does the value justify the cost? Does it improve my life? I put my recommendation at the top, then answer those three questions below.

RECOMMENDATION

I recommend this product to anyone racing, training for, or thinking about doing a triathlon or time trial. I bought these a few months after getting my bike, to convert it to more of a triathlon bike. They've held up well, though most of the paint has come off. They're a little on the heavy side, but the carbon fiber aerobars are just stupidly expensive, so that doesn't bother me.

FUNCTIONALITY

The elbow pads are quite comfortable, and - my personal saddle issues aside - I'm most comfortable riding the bike in aero position now. I've got them clamped onto my carbon fiber handlebars, and they have held perfectly for over two years, with no apparent damage to the handlebars.

VALUE

All bike accessories seem expensive to me, and I've forced myself to just ignore the pricing for the gear I "need" for road cycling. I think I've gotten my money's worth out of these things though.

DOES IT IMPROVE MY LIFE?

In the end, anything that makes you more comfortable on your bike is a worthy investment, because you flat out WILL NOT RIDE if you're not comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable ride, January 10, 2012

I am a beginner road rider and will say that these provide a stable and comfortable ride for distance riding and short tri's. I would strongly suggest having a professional install these if you do not know what your doing.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great aero bars if you are using them right., December 27, 2011
By PeteDin206
Excellent set of aero bars. I have them mounted on my Kestrel Talon which has a blended road/tri geometry. As with others comments, riding in the aero position takes some getting used to. You should not be clipping these on to a mountain bike at all, and need to ensure that your road bike fits you properly before clipping these on to it. Most people buy bikes based on price or comfort but that can make using aero bars very dangerous.

Another not is you should not be using aero bars in a group ride where you will be drafting. It is very dangerous.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Aero Bars, September 18, 2011

I needed some aero bars for my wife's bike and researched the products available. I purchased the T2+ model and found them perfect or my needs. They were extremely easy to install and adjust, contrary to some of the reviews I read. My wife and I are very satisfied with the bars.

Not too hard to install. A little tricky, but it works.
Highly adjustable to fit you right.
The plastic arm rests both cracked and now I can't use them. Looking for replacement parts but having no luck so far.
