I have had my Camelbak M.U.L.E. since about 1999. I used it primarily to throw in the airplane/helicopter with me on a daily basis with water, some cliff bars, and flight gear. During that time it has also been used for an untold number of dayhikes. It is still going strong! I have killed several other backpacks during that time. My MULE is on it third bladder, but the pack has served me very, very well.[...]~Jeff

gets the job done with ease., July 5, 2009

does everything I need a hydaration pack to do and then some. For a non-specific, general purpose hydration pack with a good amount of extra room for storage, this one is perfect. this is my third hydration pack and only the first only I'm completely satisified with. The only thing that would make it better would be a small pocket on one of the shoulder straps that I could use for a cell phone.

hiking, biking, and light photography, September 2, 2009
By Andrew Domino (Seattle, WA United States)

This bag does it all for me. It's bright orange for added safety and has enough capacity (water and storage) for a long day hike or 60 mile bike ride.
There are plenty of compartments and I've managed to securely fasten my dslr w/ large lens in the netted pocket between the main pouch and the outer pouch.

CamelBak Convert, April 9, 2010
By Bigfoot (Oregon, USA)

After using Nalgene bottles for many years I finally took the leap and went for a CamelBak M.U.L.E. Wow, what a difference! This pack is the perfect size for a quick warm weather day hike with the basic essentials thrown in. After a 2.5 mile hike this afternoon I am hooked -- everything was very comfortable. The removable waist belt is a nice touch, as is the back padding and the soft lined phone/MP3/GPS pocket up top. Very impressed with the quality of the product, it definitely exceeded my expectations.

Versatile cycle/hike/commute bag - 15" Macbook fits inside!, August 13, 2010
By Aaron Salmon
|
|
This pack is pretty amazing. Obviously its great for day rides or hikes... but let's talk about daily use and commuting around the city. If you don't need the hydration you can temporarily pull it out or easily just wind the mouth hose up inside the water pouch pocket out of sight. The rest of the bag can pretty easily carry all my normal commute items. The main zipper pocket is just big enough to fit my Macbook 15 in its foam sleeve... then the laptop accessories, power cord, wireless mouse, notebook, cards, pens, as well as my bike's U-lock and additional cable for the front wheel. I can even hook my pool cue into the two tension strap loops on one of the sides to carry that upright as well. I added the 'Chrome Accessory Pouch' to one of the straps for easy access to my phone. It's a very versatile little bag!

It's Camelbak, enough said., June 14, 2010

Camelbak makes great products. I've used their products in the military for years now. Decided to get this one for the extra cargo space during my personal adventures. It's great, and the insulation is top notch. Put ice in the bladder in the morning, and it stayed ice cold all day, even while riding my bike in the sun with 95 degree weather. Great purchase for any Mountain Biker/ Hiker/ Outdoor enthusiast.

Great pack, lots of room in light, small space!, February 8, 2010

I bought this for my husband. He loves it. It has a lot of room, large water pack, it's light weight and compact. I looked at a lot of them before I bought this one, I made the right choice. You can't go wrong if you decide on this pack. We hike, so we needed enough room for extra gear, it has it.

I had been looking for a camelbak mule 100 in stores and decided to check online. I was so pleased to have found the color and style I wanted, for less than in any store, and it came within 3-4 days of my placing the order -- brand new and in perfect condition.

Amazon great buy; Camelback, June 12, 2010
By HOGIE1 (Cotati, Ca.)

I have an older "Lobo" Camelback hydration system and was satisfied with that product so I decided to purchase the M.U.L.E. 100 oz.. I am very pleased to have made this great buy. The M.U.L.E. has more liquid capacity as well as more pockets to organize my bike tools, tubes, sandwich/snacks that I carry on my rides. I would recommend either of these two Camelback products to anyone who may be interested in buying a hydration system. They are compact and provide you with the space and liquid capacity needed on rides. Best of all, the purchase price was about $10/$12 less than stores or other on-line stores.

Best pack ever., January 20, 2010
By PK (Florida)

I bought this to replace an older MULE (5+ years old) that had been stolen.
There are a number of improvements in the design from the old model, which was a wonderful pack.
It may seem expensive for a backpack, but it is worth it.

I use my Camelbak as a daypack when I go hiking and it works phenomenally as long as I am only carrying gear for myself. Things got a little crowded when I carried supplies for both my wife and myself.

Perfectly perfect in every way., July 12, 2011
By W.R.S (Los Angeles, CA USA)

I bought this for an extended desert camping odyssey and it was the best purchase I'd ever made for such a trip. I filled it up in the morning, added some ice to keep my water cool and refreshing, and then set about my day without any worries about dehydration. I sipped every 10-15 minutes, pulled items from the reasonably roomy daypack at regular intervals, and not once did I get dehydrated, despite 10-11 hours of direct sunlight per day and countless miles of hiking. I'm still using it after two years, thanks to the Camelbak cleaning kit, and I have every expectation that this well-designed wee beastie will be in my hiking arsenal for several years to come.
One note: If you're planning on being in a dusty environment, get the Camelbak bite tube cover. It has smooth flip-top action to keep dust and dirt out of your mouth.

Quench your thirst!, June 1, 2011
By imac20051 (IL, USA)

I've had my CamelBak 100-Oz in black for about 2 years now. It gets used about 2-3 times per week and was used for 7 days straight during a Florida trip. It has held up to a lot of use and I'm very happy with it. While in Florida in 85-90F degree weather, the CamelBak kept my ice water cold for 7 hours! We walked the park and I had water for me and my family (4) throughout the time. I did have to fully fill it with ice first and some water, and it still had one or two pieces of ice by the end of the day! That alone is a reason to buy this thing. There is plenty of water for two for a 7 hour trip. It will keep you hydrated and help carry your stuff.
You can keep snacks, keys, wallet, ipod/iphone (there is a seperate pocket with headphone jack). If you do fill the water container fully, it does limit what you can put in the middle bag, I was still able to fit a pair of jeans and tshirt in the bag, so not an issue.
This is a great purchase, dont hesitate it is great, the only thing better would be a bigger one!

Perfect for biking, March 4, 2011
By Gadgets & Gizmos (Bay Area)

I picked this bag up because I own a larger 100oz camelbak that was too large to go biking with.
This bag is perfect, fits extra tubes, my wallet, keys, a light jacket and some snacks.
This is not great if you are planning on bringing a DSLR camera or something of that size.
Also I wish the tube was the one wrapped in the foam insulation rather than the bare tube.

A really nice hydration pack with enough storage for a day hike.
Water bladder was easy to remove, fill, and place back without any mess.
If you're a first time hiker like me, this is a good investment without breaking the bank.

This is a great product! It keeps the water icy cold for hours and hours (6 hours+). It's a definite plus while camping, hiking, and biking. If you do any of those activities, a hydration pack will make your life 100% easier.

Quality I expected from a name brand pack, August 21, 2011
By matt
|
|
This hydration pack exceeded my expectations. The built quality alone made me second guess how much I paid for for this! This camelbak is an excellent value and has held up very well over the past months. I use this thing every day at work, and for hiking and biking. I have never had a comfort issue and there are plenty of pockets to hold the necessities for the days outing. The soft lined cell phone pouch is great for keeping your phone or gps, and appears to be waterproof. The water capacity on this unit is great, however if you don't need it completely full I'd recommend leaving a little out. When completely full the pack seems to bulge a bit and the part that rests on your back becomes curved. This is only slightly annoying, but I usually under-fill the pack to prevent this. Also Id recommend buying the big bite valve cover to keep the bite valve from acumulating dust and dirt on an off road bike or hike.

An excellent Camelbak product!, November 11, 2010
By Vince

|
I ordered this product because I wanted a bigger camelbak. My first camelbak was a minimule (50oz. pouch). i took that pack to Disneyland and my girlfriend and I both drink from the Camelbak. The minimule did not hold enough water for the both of us ( we had to refill a ridiculous amount of times!). With this M.U.L.E. we refilled twice over the whole day (at Disneyland) and found it had more than enough water between the two of us! Its an amazing product, it has a lot of space to not only have just the water, but to carry snacks around too, along with a camera and wallets and cellphones! If you're thinking about purchasing this product I encourage you to buy it. Its a great investment!

Looks nice but shipment was deplorable!, October 29, 2010
By sw (California, USA)

If there was a way to show a photo of how I received the product I would.
I returned this item due to the deplorable shipping/packaging. When I received the package it looked like it had been ripped open, stomped on, re-taped by a 4 year old, and then stomped on again. I have never, ever seen a package in this condition except on television, as a joke. Needless to say the item was damaged in the process. I don't know what the rationale was for its condition, and when I emailed a complaint I never got an answer nor an apology. So just beware when ordering something directly from Amazon.com.
