Do away with uncomfortable chest straps and measure your heart rate the easy way with the Polar Cardio sports bra. Designed to work with the Polar Wearlink transmitter, Polar training computers, and other heart-rate-compatible equipment (all sold separately), the Polar sports bra allows you to incorporate the device directly into the garment by attaching it to the bra with the built-in snaps. In addition, the bra is extremely comfortable, with no-slip shoulder straps, flat seams that minimize chaffing, an adjustable back closure, and a polyester/Spandex fabric blend that wicks away moisture as you exercise. Designed to offer high-impact support for A, B, and C cup wearers--with a seamless cup that's notably smooth under the shirt--the Polar sports bra is even machine-washable. About Polar The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.

Bought a black and a white one, July 28, 2009
By Aggieash (Tulsa, OK)

Update: After owning two of these sports bras for over four months, I have found myself wearing the chest strap instead of the bras for about half of my workouts. I reduced my original rating of five stars to four stars since the sports bras tend to rise up a bit during rigorous exercise (e.g. boot camp, body combat), and the sensors don't stay against my chest when doing floor exercises (e.g. situps). The sports bras are ideal for cycling and working out on the elliptical machine, since my upper body is stationary for the most part.
Original Review: I love not having to wear a chest strap! I needed a 34D, so I purchased a large. The large was too big around my rib cage and didn't keep a consistent heart rate connection. The large is definitely true to size, as it is advertised as 36". I had the closure taken in 2" at the tailor. I ordered a medium, and it fits well. My WearLink transmitter, which came with my Polar F11 heart rate monitor, snaps in perfectly, and I have not had any problems keeping a reliable heart rate reading. The equipment at the gym also picks up the transmitter signal, which is nice. I have recommended this product to friends.

Love it!, August 10, 2009

I ordered this product because the Polar Chest strap was really irritating to my skin, so much so that I couldn't wear it. I was initially skeptical of this product, but after receiving it and trying it, I'm in love! The heart rate monitor snaps perfectly into place, and I had no trouble picking up and keeping my heart rate on my watch. I will definitely order one (despite the steep price) in white. I ordered a size medium, and it fits just right. I usually wear size medium in my sports bras, and found this to fit snug, but not too tight. Highly, highly recommend this polar product! The only con is the steep price!

Excelent sport bra!, November 19, 2009
By Emi (Miami, Florida, United States)

I use Polar cardio watches 8 years ago, and now that I found this polar compatible bra it is much easier for me, it is more comfortable to workout with it, because you don't loose the signal when you do certain movements during your workout. I recommend it.

Large is NOT true large, January 11, 2011
By KAT

I bought this for my daughter who is about 6' tall, wide shoulders and probably a C or D cup. It doesn't even come close to closing, so my wife tried it on (size 6 or 8 dress, 5'5, 130 lbs, probably 32C - 34C)and it was very snug on her. She is not overweight and is in shape. She said it would be too snug to be comfortable - and she likes her jog bras tight.
Not sure what polar was thinking here - maybe these are for waif like women (competitive marathon runners? Kenyans?). There's just no way a larger female athlete could possibly fit into this product!!!!
Very disappointed in the Polar Techs.

Worth the price, February 12, 2011

Are you sick of wearing the heart rate monitor band for every workout? Wouldn't it be nice to have a COMFORTABLE sports bra that holds the girls in, wicks away moisture AND holds the heart rate monitor in place ? No bleep, this is what you've been looking for. Ok, its what I was looking for, and because you're reading this, clearly you're searching for something similar. You can stop shopping now, this is the real deal.
I started P90X 6 weeks ago so I ordered the heart rate monitor to keep me honest --intensity-wise. While the band is comfortable enough, psychologically it bugs me. I have thoughts creep in while working out that the band is slipping...which is better than the "man, this hurts when is it over" thoughts, but annoying nonetheless. So, I found this handy-dandy bra and LOVE it!!!! I'm about a 36-38 C, 5'7' 150 pounds, and the large fits perfect. It doesn't overly compact so you can still breathe and be comfortable. I have also worn it for running and am happy with the level of compression. The heart rate monitor snaps into the front of the band, under the boobs, therefore it does not bulge out of your shirt.
Note--- I also bought a small for a friend- she's 5'4 114 lbs, A cup, and small framed-- the small is too big. The monitor just doesn't connect too well because the bra is loose; she has the same problem with the band. Keep that in mind if you're small framed.
I rate this 5 stars and love it so much I'm going to order another when I'm done submitting this review. Good luck!!

Bought as gift for my wife - she LOVES it, September 17, 2010

My spouse wanted a heart rate monitor, but hated the strap type. I got this for her birthday, and she wears it every time she works out. She likes it so much that she purchased a second one.

DO NOT BUY!!! WASTE OF MONEY, January 4, 2012
By spence

I bought this hoping it would be a great sports bra that I could utilize my HRM with so that I would not have to use the strap.. I was so disappointed this morning.. it was an absolute waste of money.. but it sucks because I had already took the tags off, which states, if removed or worn you can not return. The HRM kept popping off, would not stay on for one simple movement. For a large it still felt tight, which is weird because all my other sports bras are mediums.. This was an absolute waste of my money, that I could have used for something else!!! Wish I didn't have to even give it one star

A Good Choice Overall, December 20, 2011

I ordered the Polar Cardio Sports Bra in size large and received it quickly from Amazon. Thanks to the warning from other reviewers, I knew it would be a tight fit, but solved that issue with a $1.50 bra extender from the local WalMart. One of the snaps was defective, so my Polar transmitter would not stay connected. At that point, I went back online and used Amazon's very efficient return process. I chose to "replace" the defective item. I'm very happy with the replacement process, as Amazon sends out the replacement immediately, while allowing an extended period of time to return the defective item (I think it was around 60 days). Amazon keeps you informed via email or text message so you know when they receive the returned item. The replacement bra was also a large, but much "roomier." I'm still using the bra extender. I've been using the sports bra daily for extended periods of time on the elliptical with no performance problems. After a number of washings it is still performing like new. I'd recommend it to anyone who is tired of fighting with the polar transmitter chest strap vs. your sports bra. Be sure to "start" the polar readout on the watch before you head for the gym to assure you have the bra band wet enough. The only time I've gotten a "check transmitter" warning is if I haven't soaked the bra band enough.

could be improved but does a good job, October 3, 2011
By Fuzzy Logic (NJ, USA)

I was getting a lot of chafing using the Polar Wearlink belt so tried this bra. Polar suggested I buy the Large size although I'm usually a medium in clothes. Large was right. So ladies bigger than a 36B may not fit in this. It's the chest band that is the limiting factor which, if more elastic like in normal bras, would be better. That said, I like it, no chafing, the boobies don't move, it's machine washable and I bought a second one. I wore it recently in a tough, wet, trail marathon that took me 8 hours and the bra worked great.

Not a Sports Bra for me, August 24, 2011
By Oxford Reader (Oxford, CT)
|
|
I didn't care for this sports bra only because it flattened me unlike my other cheaper sports bras and it felt a bit too tight for me. I also found that the Polar wearlink didn't stay connected like it doesn't when I wear the strap - it would unsnap.

Decent, but I'd Pass, July 16, 2011
By Mail Debaser

This sports bra is a great idea, nice thought to bypass the strap. And it does work well, after Im able to fight the thing onto my body. It's got a back clasp, which is hard to hook, because the built in strap very very tight, with little elasticicty or give. I'd recommend ordering one size up to accommodate the strap fit, but am not sure how that would affect the fit of the bra elsewhere. Aside from the tight strap, it fits me perfectly. I should mention that I'm a very petite female.
For the price, I'd pass and check out either the Under Armor or Road Runner Sports' brand, and just continue wearing the Polar strap separately.

Discriminating in a bad way, September 28, 2011

Too small. These exercise bra should fit people that want and need to exercise. The bra should either have more give, more hooks, or come in a larger size.

The bra was a bit tight around the chest- but I solved the problem with a bra extender. Otherwise, all was ok!

Bought this in a medium to use with my Polar heart rate monitor, it fits perfectly, and is surprisingly comfortable compared to the band that comes with the monitor. I like that it is machine washable too, nice!
