Good value - adjustable seat angle, May 19, 2010

Not much to write: inexpensive and does the job perfectly.
The seat angle is adjustable contrary to what is said in a previous review - just need to loosen the screw and the whole top assembly can be moved along a U shaped groove in the top of the post. May not be the easiest, but certainly not hard.

Fine For the Money, August 9, 2010
By David King (Brant Lake, NY USA)

The seat post weighs 13 ounces (368 g), but at least it's 4 ounces lighter than the shock-absorbing post I replaced. It also has an inexpensive brushed finish.
I can see why some reviewers were confused about the seat angle adjustment. With most posts the teeth that lock in the angle are visible, but with this post they are hidden. However, they definitely exist, and work as well as other posts that I have had experience with.
For the price this is a great buy! If you want less weight and a nicer finish, there are lots of more expensive posts to choose from.

Bought this as a replacement for a Schwinn Ranger bike from Target. Easy installation, works fine. The adjustable top gives you plenty of room to position the seat where you want it.

Seat Post, February 25, 2010
By Brooklyn (Virginia)

I stand corrected! This is an exceptional value for the price! I was initially under the impression that it wasn't "micro-adjustable" however, as explained in another comment, it most certainly is. I just couldn't figure out how. Having had this matter explained, and having adjusted the seat angle, I believe it would be hard to find another seatpost of this quality for so low a price. I highly recommend it!
And again, my thanks to DS

Great value, great product, August 18, 2011

I used this seat post to replace a worn out seat post on my 10+ year old trek 820 mountain bike. It is of solid construction but yet didn't feel too heavy. I was able to attach my seat with no problems. At this price it can't be beat. I haven't seen any cons to it yet.

Fits Well and all the pieces came with it!, April 21, 2011

Fits right, all screws and pieces came with it and are easy to screw. It's a little heavier than I expected, but I should have paid more attention to the specs before I bought it.

Hey it's a post, March 18, 2011

The M-Wave is a decent post, weighing in at 12 oz. - not the lightest seat post but considerabaly lighter than my suspension post. I would have given it 5 stars but the tilt adjustment could go down a little more. But, all-in-all I like it. It's 350 mm long.

For the price you cannot beat this seat post!, January 4, 2011

My old seat and post were stolen recently so I had to purchase some new equipment and one of my criteria was to be effective, but still not cost an arm and a leg. After spending a lot of money on my bike I didn't want to spend hundreds more for a post and seat that might get stolen again. This post is honestly just what I wanted. It was extremely cheap, but still very good quality. It's a little heavy compared to some of the lighter posts out there, but if you want to spend $50 just to shave off a pound then go ahead. I think most people would prefer to save the money though and still get an extremely good quality post. Also, this post is very adjustable in all ways and angles so you can set it to the exact angle you prefer.
All in all, if you want a quality product that is very affordable then buy this post!

Works Great!, November 28, 2010

This seat post is great! I just got it in the mail and have installed it on my bike. I do some heavy mountain bike riding, and I have no reason to believe this won't hold up to the pounding. It doesn't seem flimsy...
For 8 bucks, I'm not sure how you are going to beat it. Honestly, I don't understand why people pay much more for a seat post. A seat post! Are they trying to save a couple hundred grams (0.4 pounds)?
The tilt adjustment works great. A little shifting when tightening the hex nut will put it in place.

Alright but not great, August 8, 2010

The adjustment that controls the position of the seat slips, thus the 3 stars. I am a big guy 6'3" 300lbs.

Works, but unimpressive, July 20, 2010
By Brian C Davis

It is sort of corrugated, so there isn't much micro-adjusting, it has a series of steps. So it holds securely, but not a whole lot of options on tilt. Seems cheaply made and hard to put together and use compared to the seat post on my other bike. Still, it's better than what's on most big box bikes.

Great seat - pretty comfortable, and easy install - just check the post diameter with your bikes.

Inexpensive, June 23, 2010

This is a great way to replace a suspension seat post to see how it feels without spending a lot of money.
Post has a good tilt-adjustment mechanism. Very flexible with a full range of forward/backward tilt without affecting the forward/backward lateral position of the seat. (Unlike the Avenir Ultralight Seat Post, Silver , 27.2mm diameter.).
It feels heavy to me. But, I don't have much experience with other rigid seat posts. And, no accurate scale. Even so, if it was 100 grams heavier than others, it's still a great price.

Basic, functional, and reasonably light seatpost, September 9, 2009
By medwriter (NJ)

I ordered this seatpost to replace a suspension-style seatpost on a Mongoose mountain bike. The original post on the Mongoose was too tall for my daughter to use (the bike was being handed down from my wife to my daughter) because of the built in "shock absorber" that sits above the seat tube. The original seatpost was also super heavy. (I'm thinking of keeping it as a club for self-defense purposes.) This M-wave seatpost fit well and is quite light for the price. Of course, if you are looking to shave every ounce from your seatpost for a very light bicycle built for racing, you can certainly do better than this (at a much higher price). If you are replacing the seatpost of most typical inexpensive mountain or hybrid bikes, I doubt you would notice much improvement in weight by spending a lot more dollars to go to a lighter high-tech post. There are some even cheaper posts out there, but the Amazon free shipping made this a great deal.
I would have given this 5 stars, had not my first order arrived damaged. The post arrived with a very slight dent and bend that prevented it from sliding all the way into the seat tube. This may not be reflective of the quality of the tube--it could have been damaged during shipping. Nonetheless, I can only review based on the product(s) I received. Amazon quickly shipped out a replacement with no hassle and no additional shipping (or other) charges. The second post (reviewed above) arrived in perfect condition.
