5.0 out of 5 stars.  N.American Hlthcare vs REAL-EaSE Neck Support, December 11, 2009
By no pain 'n the neck
I wasn't sure which neck support would be best for my neck pain, so I bought both of them.

Both products have their plus & minus but on balance I prefer the Therapeutic Neck Support by North American Healthcare over the Dr. Riter's Real-Ease Neck & Shoulder Relaxer.

The TNS by NAH looks like the NECK AND BACK STRETCHER
Other Get Organized products so they may be the same. I don't know.

http://www.amazon.com/Get-Organized-Therapeutic-Neck-Support/dp/B001L7NV02/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1260581099&sr=8-11

The TNS is more stable, it doesn't rock as easily as the Real-Ease Neck Relaxer.
It is also a bit firmer (ie the cushion feels like it supports the normal lordotic curvature of the cervical spine). The downside for some may be that it may feel too firm, but that firmness is what set it apart from the Real-Ease product. After 15-20 minutes of resting on it, I did feel less pain in my neck. The Real-Ease is quite soft, very relaxing but I didn't feel it was therapeutic. It does rock very easily, so if one falls asleep laying on it, there may be a risk of rocking to the side abruptly. This risk can be mitigated by slipping a small roll shaped pillow or rolled towel under the plastic tongue in the front.
Overall, both appear to be quality products in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  A Great Product - Simple but Effective, February 2, 2010
By Tennis Nut (Newport Beach, CA)
I had been using a towel rolled up for many years to support my neck for 20 minute intervals as needed per the suggestion of my chiropractor years ago. The towel works fine but I don't always get the right thickness and have to play around with it and it is messy to leave it laying around. I was looking for a neck suppport that would do what the towel but with more accuracy so I could just get to the relaxation part.

The Theraputic Neck Lumbar Support is stable and seems to provide just the right amount of tilt and support as I like when using the towel in the ultimate position. It is priced very well so not a big investment and it is small enough to stash just about anywhere around the room. There is an ever so slight side to side play in the neck while laying on the support as compared to using a towel but I really don't think it affects anything - it is just that I noticed the towel holds my entire head fairly still without much room to move sideways. I am happy with my product and I think the the designers did a great job making a product that does exactly what you need it to do without a bunch of bells and whistles.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Well-made, stable product that supports healthy neck position, January 13, 2010
By Klyde (Yakima, WA USA)
Like another reviewer, I have this and the Real-Ease neck support, I like them both, and have the same comments (i.e., this one is firmer and the Real Ease is softer and less stable). This "Therapeutic Neck Support" is great because doesn't wobble and it is more discreet looking if you want to keep it somewhere where it might be seen. Probably even fits under the couch, so you can take it out and use it when your neck needs relaxing. I use it a lot; highly recommended. (I even sleep with it sometimes along with my Back Magic, which is probably not recommended but sure feels good and hasn't caused any problems.)

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Don't waste your money, December 2, 2010
By Sandra Klein (Poulsbo WA)
Neck pain will make me try just about anything - including this. Thankfully it was cheap as it isn't anymore effective than a rolled up towel or a tennis ball. I'm keeping it as it isn't worth the expense to return it.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Devil Dog Mark, October 30, 2010
By Devil Dog Mark
This product has been quite helpful in maintaining the curvature of my neck and spine. I have back problems and have to see a chiropractor on a regular basis. My chiropractor urged me to use a rolled up bath sized towel under my neck for at least 10 minutes a day to help return the natural curvature of my neck. But I found that the towel simply was too uncomfortable and hard to manage. Taping the towel so it stayed rolled up just made it worse. So I was not using it at least 10 minutes a day like the Chiropractor asked me to do.

Then I saw this product and thought I would give it a try. Worst case I thought it could not be more uncomfortable than the towel and looked like it was a lot easier to maintain.

To my surprise this product did the job of holding my neck at the correct curve but was still comfortable. Now I lay on it at least 10 minutes a night as ordered by the Chiropractor. With the combination of going to the Chiropractor regularly and using this product daily I am noticing that my neck is getting better and is not as painful all the time.

I combine this product with my arched back stretcher daily to realign my spine and relieve stress. My life is much more comfortable now that I am using this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Goodbye, headache..., January 9, 2011
By Tropicaldaze (Florida)
I almost didn't purchase this, but after suffering from some stress headaches and a "snap crackle pop" neck for several months, I decided to give it a try. Good move on my part! At first I wasn't impressed. I guess I expected a nice, deep, totally satisfying neck cracking like the kind you get in your back if you stretch just right. What I got was gradual relief from my headaches! I usually just take some Excedrin Migraine meds and lay down on this for about 1/2 hour or so and that generally takes care of getting rid of the headache. The other day after I finished my first big exam at university, my stress headache and I went to bed with this thing and a squishy ice pack. I woke up and my beastly headache was gone. Now I use it anytime I'm thinking about it to relax and stretch those neck muscles that seem to be the collective congretating place for the majority of my stress. This makes it easier to do other neck stretches (as in side to side and circle rotations) after using it, too.

Of course, this doesn't even come close to comparing with a wonderful neck, shoulder, and back massage, but since I don't have anyone to do that, this is a great alternative! I'd definitely buy it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good product but not for everyone, October 11, 2010
By J. Sliney
This neck support device is well designed and sturdy. It helped me as it was advertised, however, I purchased it for my spouse who has cervical radiculopathy (chronic nerve pain in the neck) for whom it did no good. Product advertisement should perhaps add more specific information about the types of neck pain the device can be good for. Otherwise, a fine neck support/stretch device.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Relaxing support., July 15, 2010
By Maxx Man (Nevada)
This neck "stretcher" is more of a neck support device. It's a lot smaller than it appears in the picture, but does the job. I think the "wings" on the sides are meant to help center your head on the device, but I prefer to use it turned around the other way, and the "wings" slightly interfere with my shoulders. Overall, it is a good support to help your neck muscles relax, and the low price is definitely a plus.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  therapeutic neck support, February 4, 2011
By Crib (Indiana)
I'm 67, and found it wasn't worth the effort to get down on the floor to use it. There is nothing wrong with the support, it is relaxing, but I have a memory foam contour pillow that works just as well while I sleep.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Money well spent., July 16, 2010
By SandiSays...
My husband has frequent lower back issues and I had gotten him the Arched Back Lumbar Stretcher Extender, Model# 83-4866V as an extra little birthday gift since an inversion table wasn't in the cards price-wise or space-wise. The neck support was recommended by dentalBookshop.com and after reading its reviews, I took a chance on it. For the cost, it's great! Directions advise only 15 mins per use and I can understand why - the cushion isn't terribly soft, yet the stretch/angle feels relaxing and a little like a hands-free massage. If you have serious alignment issues/neck pain, I can't vouch that this will be your ticket to good health, but for a nice, easy stretch and adjustment, go for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  It's OK, March 13, 2011
By Rosemary (United States)
Why this review form is referring to this item as a toy, I can't imagine because it's a therapeutic device, which works well enough to get out a simple kink in one's neck. Of course one must lie on the floor to use it, which limits it for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  good neck!!, September 17, 2010

I bought this particular item as a gift because I already own one and think it is the best home neck therapy for mine. It helps stretch the neck to release ache and pressure. I love it.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  OK for people with shorter necks, June 20, 2011
By fallenxmuse (Dallas, TX USA)
I'm petite and have a shorter neck, so when I use this, my neck doesn't exactly align like the picture. I have to position my head and neck awkwardly in order to feel relief. That said, I'm not sure if it's because I have a shorter neck, but when I use it, there is mostly relief, but I can still feel traces of my tension headache. I've tried using this from 20 minutes to an hour and the same results - my headache is only temporarily relieved. The moment I stop using this, it instantly returns. At least there is some relief when I use it, so this is on OK product.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  not for my neck, June 19, 2011
By JulesG (NC)
I have a long thin neck. I had a 2 level fusion and love to have something under my neck to relax but this does not provide enough curvature for me. I have to put a towel under it to raise it up no matter which way I use it. It could be a bit wider and have an adjustable curve.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Buy This Product., April 23, 2011
By M. F. Connelly (Philly)
After reading the reviews, I felt comfortable ordering this product. I use it just about every day, before work. I aim for 10 minutes, and it helps me to relax instead of just running around crazy getting ready for my day. My neck was injured in a car accident 2 years ago and I have bulging discs. Using this product helps, especially before work and before bed. BUY IT.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Did anyone get any instructions???, December 16, 2010
By K. Iwasaki (Grayslake IL)
Going by comments made by others, I am guessing this is supposed to be used 15 or 20 min. per day, positioned as shown in the photo on the box. However, I would feel much better if there had been some instructions either on the box or enclosed with the product. The seller told me the manufacturer encloses no instructions with this product. Is that true?

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Not A Toy, December 8, 2010
By SanDiegoJesse (San Diego, CA, United States)
Really can't give this stars for fun or educational value since this isn't a toy, but I couldn't send this until I rated it as such. Neck support is great. I like it a lot. Good price, as usual on Amazon.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Not sure if it works, March 11, 2011
By Love and Sunshiine
I don't have neck issues other than neck spasms every now and then so I'm not sure how accurate my review is. I don't think the product feels much different than laying on a rolled towel or pillow. I don't feel any serious neck relief. If someone has issues with alignment then I could see how it may help I guess, not really sure. It doesn't feel like much is happening to me but again I don't have any serious neck issues so I can't say for certain. Maybe im not using the product correctly? I have tried laying on it in both directions and it just feels like a firm pillow with no real noted relief in my neck or shoulders.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Toy? This isn't a toy..., November 14, 2010
By MegaRamsey (Mid Michigan, USA)
To review this item I am asked How much fun is this toy?
How would you rate this toy's educational value?
How durable is this toy?
How do you rate this toy overall?
Well, needless to say, this isn't a "toy". It's a headrest. I use this with another item I bought separately (it's put under my lower back and helps relive the sciatic nerve). The headrest is cushioned and comfortable and very sturdy.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  No information or instructions, August 30, 2011
By Nelda Carlisle-Gray (St. Louis, MO)
I was surprised this came in a plain box, with no pictures. There was no information of any kind enclosed. Just the invoice. I had to come back to the product page to see which side goes toward my head. Seems strange. Haven't tried it out yet, so no comment on it otherwise.

This cervical support is easy to use and very comfortable. I use it with a Sacral wedge to provide a natural traction that heals minor back problems before they become major.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Maybe mine was defective?, August 3, 2011
By luterguy (NC United States)
Mine does not lay flat. It seems like a manufacturing defect... either cut by hand (not machine) or when it was bent it was done in correctly.
Either way, my does not lay flat/stable on the floor. The one end is not in the same plane as the other (it is twisted). I may contact Amazon but not sure it is worth the $11 it cost. I hope the maker reads the review and trys to fix the issue. I will just go back to using towels for now.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Arrived on time,, July 17, 2011

They asked me to review a toy. I don't know how to use it as a toy. I use it to relax and gently rock my neck back and forth. It does ease tension in the neck area-for me.
