5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best money ever spent~!, July 14, 2011
By Adam Russell
I am a very casual biker. After I got a little rambunctious and went 20 miles last week, I had a good deal of discomfort, soreness and some chaffing. Well, I goggled my problem and the all-knowing Google said "buy bike shorts, dummy".

So, to amazon I go. Good ratings here, so I bought them.

WOW. Just, WOW.

What a difference! So comfortable! I did a quick 6.5 mile ride today with my shorts for the first time and I was completely comfortable the entire time. Worth every penny and then some!

About sizing:
I am 6'5 250something lbs. Mostly fat (I'm very out of shape, but recovering) I wear a 38" waist pants and wear them low.

I bought the XL shorts and they fit great. Snug but not binding and not loose at all.

I will buy this product again.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Top-notch quality, July 5, 2011
By E. Wilson (FL, USA)
These look and feel top-notch. I'm very happy with my purchase. As for fit, I'm a male with a size 31 waist and with medium-build legs (not jacked and not scrawny), and the medium fits like a glove. I was right between SM and MED, but went with the size up since a lot of biking stuff runs small. The small is 28/30, and medium is 32/34, and although I'm a 31, the MED works great.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Quest review, August 7, 2011
By JayB
I have a 33 inch waist, and bought the medium size Quest short as another with the same size suggested a perfect fit, and is correct. Great cycling short for a beginner cyclist. Very comfortable once you get used to the short. As for myself, this is the first cycling short I've worn or bought, and good for the $35 dollar value. As for myself, I do not wear anything under the short. I take a quick shower, apply some suave cucumber with aloe moisturizing lotion to my thighs, butt and groin...basically the saddle area where the short covers your skin. The firmness is something to get used to as is personal adjustments. Well worth the comfort, and not chafing. The padding on this short is more toward the butt area and thinner toward the taint and groin area. So as previously stated, if your an avid rider and more crouched in an aerodynamic position, you may find this short a bit uncomfortable and or want to find a differently padded short. Fine for beginners, 20-30 mile ride or 1-2 hrs. The black color is great for hiding the sweat, and I do sweat. Hope this helps. I'm 5'11" 160lbs 33" waist.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great biking shorts year round, July 2, 2011
By Dan (Redmond, WA USA)
I've worn these both alone by themselves as well as under an outerlayer pair of long pants. They work great either way. They've been through the wash dozens of times with no problems. (Be careful to follow the washing instructions, though.) If I had a minor nit, it is that the padding sometimes feels like it's sagging a bit, so if I'm at a red light and get back on the bike as soon as the light turns green, I have to make sure my shorts don't get caught on my seat.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good shorts, August 11, 2011

These are my first cycling short. The padding feels a bit weird at first, but totally is totally worthwhile on longer rides.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Cycling shorts, August 9, 2011
By John J. Santoemma Jr. (Reno, NV)
Sizing is a touch small. These are 4 seam shorts, not bad for the price, but I think Falconi are better.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Kind of a disappointment., August 8, 2011
By tjsummerhays
I got these when I first purchased my bike because of the positive reviews and I enjoyed them while I was riding maybe 20 miles. However I've been disappointed with them now because at about the 20 mile mark I begin to feel soreness. I initially thought it was my seat and so I replaced that and I'm on a Specialized Toupe now and I like the seat more so then my previous but I still experience discomfort after the 20 mile mark. Now I primarily use them for commuting which is about a 12 mile round trip. For that, they are sufficient.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  BEST bike shorts at a GREAT price!, August 7, 2011
By mtnmedic (Nevada City, CA)
The same thing sells for $50 or more at bike shops. This is a great deal. I'm 6' at 213lbs. Tried the XL size and that seemed a bit loose where this L size fits a bit more snug, which is what you want. These shorts stay nice and cool, they don't slip around on me and they're of good construction. I'll be buying a second pair to alternate with. These are my first "real" bike shorts and believe me, I'm very happ with them!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great shorts for reasonable price, August 4, 2011
By tharpomaximus (greencastle)
Great fit, even without a drawstring. Padding is better for my longer rides. Especially like how the waist comes up somewhat higher than some of my cheaper shorts.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  very comfortable, July 27, 2011
By samsonitte (Sierra Vista, AZ USA)
These shorts are very comfortable to wear. A good warm weather short with good padding. Holds onto my legs with the sticky rubber without pulling leg hairs, which is a major plus since I don't shave. I think Pearl Izumi may have nabbed a new long-term customer.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great value, great product, July 26, 2011

Newer biker here. Second pair of shorts. They compare with the $80 pair I bought at the LBS, and actually I think these are nicer. Very happy, fit comfortable, nice ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable for sure, July 21, 2011
By A. Kravitz (Erie, CO)
I bought these after getting my first road bike and quickly realizing I was going to wreck my rear end without some proper shorts. They definitely improved my cycling comfort 10 fold, and after about 400 miles between 2 pairs they both still fit/feel the same which is a plus. I also bought my girlfriend the womens version of these which she is happy with, overall a great value.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Gift for Any Biker, July 18, 2011
By Sarah Lee (Muncie, IN USA)
I purchased these for my husband for fathers day. This is the only brand I wear because they always hold their shape. He likes the padded seat, which I don't, so I was really guessing they would still be the best choice. They were. He mentions how much he likes them every time he wears them. Again, great fit. Spot on sizing and perfect tightness in the legs.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great price and great value, July 15, 2011
By Jazz Lover (San Diego, CA)
I was shopping at the REI store in Chula Vista, CA and noticed these same cycling shorts for 100.00. I found these at Amazon for almost half. I ordered the shorts and were more than I expected. Great fit, very comfortable, and wear well. I am very happy with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Riding Shorts!, July 14, 2011
By chevotaman (Chehalis, WA)
Bought these a few weeks ago... Used them for 3 or 4 thirty mile rides... Then wore them for my 1st ever Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic (2011). Rode from Seattle to home Saturday(114 miles) no butt pain or chaffing! Washed and hung to dry... Then wore them again for the Sunday. Around mile 70 or so of the second day butt got pretty sore but that's not bad after 180+ miles in two days... The ride totaled 106.68 miles with the small detour we took... butt a little sore but NO blisters!!! Overall I say they are darn good riding shorts!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  First pair of cycling shorts, July 9, 2011
By W. Darling
This is my first pair of cycling shorts. I have been riding increasingly longer distances and wanted to try something that might provide more comfort. When I first put these on they felt a little strange having never worn padded shorts before. Once I got on the bike though they where very comfortable. I rode over 20 miles that first time out and have been on four other 20 mile plus trips since I got them. I am very pleased with this purchase and plan to buy another pair.

As far as shipping goes they did not ship when I expected and when I was notified that they did ship they were to arrive at my work on a day I was to be off. I contacted Amazon and they changed the shipping address to my home while in transit. Kudos to Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable and Stylish, July 8, 2011
By ALmarty
I have bought 3 pairs of these shorts and they are extremely comfortable. The sizing is dead on and there is no issue with the padding moving on you while on the saddle.

I use this item primarily while on my Mountain Bike while riding the local trails, anywhere from 30 mins - 3 hours. I have not had any issues with chafing.

The shorts are comfortable and breathable, they also dry very fast; i have ridden through rain storms and have not had any problems.

When i do use these while ridding my road bike I have found that they are adequate , my road rides are typically 1 to 2 hours in length. So i don't know too much if they will hold up on the longer rides.

Overall i would recommend this item to a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Don't ride without a pair of these, July 8, 2011
By D. Shaw
These biking shorts are comfortable. They're skin-tight, but don't feel like it. The material allows you to breathe easily and the padding is supportive enough for those long rides that can be painful on the posterior, but flexible enough that it feels perfectly normal to walk around in. They also prevent your legs from rubbing together. I can't imagine riding without them now.

You must go commando in these or else you might experience discomfort - I like to wear these with a pair of cargo shorts on top, so that I can easily store my wallet, phone, etc. They should be washed by hand with soap and cold water - you shouldn't be putting these in a machine washer or the padding might wear out too soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable, cool, and cheap!, July 5, 2011
By Ryan Loiacono
These bicycle shorts are very comfortable, both on and off the bicycle. The padding is excellent and minimizes any discomfort felt during rides. The shorts help keep you cool and not too sweaty. Lastly, the price is great! They are an excellent value for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome Shorts, July 2, 2011
By CyFan (Iowa)
These shorts are fantastic. My first ride with these shorts were a definite test. 96 degrees, 106 degree pavement temp, and 111 degree heat index. The shorts performed even better than I had hoped. I rode 55 miles and felt like I could have done another 50. They were very comfortable, better than any other pair of cycling shorts I own. I will be buying several more of these as I prepare for my 5th RAGBRAI.

The shipping was great, using Amazon Prime I received my order in two days and the shipping was free.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Very satisfied, June 30, 2011
By Andrew J. Robotham (Caledonia, MI United States)
I do a fair amount of excercising on a stationary bike and do some occasional mountain biking on some trails. I had the opportunity to do a 40 mile bike ride with others in a group on the road. I have never gone that far before and it was suggested to buy some bike shorts for the padding. They worked well but I was still pretty sore even with the padding. It was likely due to the seat fititng me differently than what I'm used to since I had to borrow a road bike for the event. They have been used a couple of times now and are holding up well.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome Shorts!, June 29, 2011
By CaptainAJ
These are the most comfortable bike shorts I've ever owned. I've gone 100+ miles with zero discomfort. Let's not forget the awesome price! These shorts retail for between $60-$80 at most bike shops. Believe me, the comfort on long rides would be worth $60-$80, but getting these shorts for under $40.00 through Amazon was a remarkable find.
