I am on my second of these toothbrushes. The problem with the first started after about 14 months of use. The brush would stop in the middle of a brushing cycle. Sometimes it was possible to restart the cycle and finish brushing. Sometimes the toothbrush would not start at all and sometimes it would start and run for a few seconds. I attributed these failure to an isolated faulty device and purchased another one. The same happened again after about 13 months of use. Same symptoms, same problems. Having a degree in electrical engineering and based of what I know about electronics, the problem is attributed to the vibration and poor soldering techniques and low quality components used in construction. This could be a great product if these problems are resolved. Today I will be purchasing Philips ultrasonic toothbrush.

Ultimate toothbrush

I previously had a battery operated Oral-B toothbrush and it finally died after several years. My husband has been bragging about how great his sonic toothbrush is so I got this one for my son and I to share. So far we love it - the 2 min. timer is great for him (and it stops every 30 seconds to alert him to move onto next quadrant), I like that it doesn't need batteries and comes with 12 brush heads (which can be expensive at drug stores for the oral B). Seems to clean teeth well and was a good deal.

Love it. Makes my teeth feel super clean. As an added bonus, it comes with 12 brush heads, so you won't need to buy new ones for years. Most other brands charge you and arm and leg for replacement brush heads. Plus, this comes with a UV light disinfector. Nice. The entire product has a very quality feel.
