 Product OK but I had a reaction from it

I purchased this tooth gel after running out of my regular Colgate tooth paste. I have been slowly replacing household products with safer alternatives. I researched a great deal for effective, safer alternatives to dish soap, laundry detergent, body soaps, lotions, etc. I was excited to find this tooth gel as it fit perfectly what I was looking for to replace Colgate. At first, I wasn't crazy about the taste or consistency. It's not very minty so it wouldn't really leave my mouth or breath feeling as fresh as traditional tooth paste. It's also goopy so it just sinks into the toothbrush. About a week into using it the pump broke. Then about 2 weeks into using it I developed a sore throat. I thought it was a cold so I went to the doctor. He suspected an infection so I was put on antibiotics. The sore throat got worse. After seeing 3 different doctors and almost a month of having a sore throat I thought to try switching back my old toothpaste. Lo and behold my throat started feeling better the very next day. After about a week I was back to normal. I can't say for certain that it was this tooth gel but it seems likely. It could have been some sort of an allergic reaction to an ingredient but I have no known allergies, known whatsoever, ever in my life. Just wanted to drive that home.
