5.0 out of 5 stars.  Critically Important Knowledge, June 28, 2015
By Sally Flesch, Ph.D., R.N
Ms. Stone's insightful commentary has a critically important knowledge base that we all must disseminate to care givers to improve patient care. Pneumonia has been the bane of older adults for generations and now we have one explanation that is preventable. She is also accurate with her observations of nurses, nursing assistants, and their educational programs. Attitudes as well as skills are taught. Professions traditionally dominated by women are still struggling for recognition and respect and sometimes those issues get in the way of excellent patient care. My hope is that the new ideas in this book will be accepted and utilized. This can really make a difference. As the population ages and the baby boomers grow old with their natural teeth, maintenance of good health certainly includes oral hygiene! Let's work together on this.
