The taste wasn't the worst thing I've ever had in my mouth

The taste wasn't the worst thing I've ever had in my mouth, but the consistency was awful. We had to use 3x the amount of paste or it would simply disappear and you're left brushing your teeth with your own saliva. It was sickly sweet and often made me cough while brushing, something about it tickled my throat. For the amount you had to use to feel clean, it was way, way too expensive. The three of use decided we hated it pretty quickly.

Pleasing cherry with good consistancy

You don't see many cherry flavored toothpastes being offered & although it's marketed for KIDS us mature adults will enjoy this offering from Nature's Gate. The gel squeezes out from the 5oz tube quite easily so you can properly regulate the amount per brushing. I use it on an electric toothbrush & after 2 minutes my mouth felt thoroughly refreshed with a pleasing aftertaste. Not sure why Nature's Gate decided on a 5oz instead of 6oz they include on most of their other toothpastes which is why I only give 4 stars as the per ounce cost is higher.

Good deal, but better products exist!

I normally use Tom's of Maine Natural Care Antiplaque Toothpaste with Baking Soda, Peppermint , 6-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 6), but decided to purchase this Nature's Gate toothpaste because of the great sale price. I like the cherry flavor, and the ingredients list (which I read before purchasing) is certainly safer than more conventional brands, but COULD BE BETTER! For instance, this toothpaste contains Sodium Flouride (a heavy metal), methylparaben (linked to cancer), and sodium lauryl sulfate. I will use all 4 tubes of this toothpaste because I couldn't pass up the price, but then I'll go back to Tom's of Maine.
