Who really knows! I use it my teeth are whitish but I also use Crest Whitening strips and Tooth Polish. I like the thought it does what it says .

I tried the liquid but with hands that don't work well, It is hard to hold and squeeze at the same time. I prefer the tube as it can lay on the counter and control the gel is much better.
