Is this toothpaste or superglue?

Well, I've been squeezing toothpaste out of tubes for about 65 years, but I've never had one solidify on me. This has only been open about a week and it has become impossible to squeeze out without using every ounce of my strength, wiping off the dried up top layer and squeezing with all my strength again. This is about the same experience as trying to use a tube of superglue a second time. I'm dumbfounded. Colgate has been making toothpaste for what? Like a hundred years?
