I own a Donegan Optivisor that my wife bought me about 30 years ago. Only the leather headband part has had to be replaced over the years. My Optivisor came with the 5 diopter and a lupe but I wanted something stronger at times. These lens plates seem to have the lenses set into the plate in such a way that they focus the eyes at 4"-at least for me. I tried TWO sets of MADE IN CHINA. The first Chinese set pulled my eyes something fierce and I could only use it by closing one eye. The next Chinese set was much better but still had marginal comfort. I then decided to go for broke and get the American Made one. Not only does it focus better, but the lenses are seated in nicely. The Chinese KNOCK-OFFS have a very THIRD WORLD FINISH. Looks like they just melted the plastic to hold the lenses in place.

Best headband magnifyiers, without spending a small fortune., August 24, 2016

There are a lot of choices of this head magnifying glasses, but this are my favorite, my work demands magnifying many electronic surface mount devices, this donegan are almost the only ones that dont distortion all the visible area.
