5.0 out of 5 stars  Works great!
By Polynsneyes on March 02, 2015
It protects your braces AND keeps your inner cheek from getting even more jacked up! It's not perfect- but if your teeth were perfect, you wouldn't need braces to begin, with. I was in so much pain that I even considered buying a mouthguard (like, for wrestling & football), a teeth whitening kit (solely for the whitening tray), anti-teeth grinding guards and dental cotton rolls- just to keep my inner cheek from being stabbed by the archwires. If it weren't for this- I'd constantly be buying ortho-wax. It's hard to talk w/these on- so I use them at bedtime (and wax during the day). We know that braces cause lacerations & abrasions on our inner cheek- the nice thing about this Protector is I can properly medicate those spots & this gadget won't soak it up. I read somewhere that the Protector should be attached to the bracket- after trial & error, I've learned it's easier to attach it to the wire- not the bracket. Having a professionally-made guard for your teeth makes no sense if (over time) your teeth will shift, anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars  Makes playing the trumpet with braces bearable
By New York Mom on January 09, 2014
My son is an 8th grader and a trumpet player. He got braces right in the beginning of marching band season and would never have survived the season without the Jet Tone Lip Protector. This device takes some getting used to and may need to be trimmed in length to obtain a proper fit. But the Jet Tone Lip Protector definitely helped my braces-wearing son regain decent portion of his trumpet range and sound. He won't play without putting it on.

p.s. We also tried the Brace Guard but found it difficult to mold it into a usable shape.

1.0 out of 5 stars  Lame
By Samantha on November 29, 2013
Didn't fit my mouth at all. Hard to use it as a guard when it doesn't even fit. My cats had more fun thinking they were twist ties.

I bought these lip bumpers to wear them at night and they fit ok. since my bottom teeth are not align correctly just yet, the bottom lip bumper does not fit good. But the top one fits great
