Nice system. Very light. Controls can be a bit clunky but overall very nice. Picture quality is on par with pro-gear.

Good camera, could be better, November 12, 2012

I have had my ep-2 for ~ 1 year and clicked off a few thousand images in that time. I bought the camera because I like the lite weight, and because I had several nice Olympus legacy lenses left over from film days that I wanted to use via an adapter.
I've used this camera in pouring rain with no problems. The only actual problems that I have had is with the little black spin wheel that accesses the WB, ISO, AF, etc. I have found on several occasions that my hand will bump the wheel and the setting usually will change from a cloudy to incandescent setting, which will ruin an outdoor photo. Now that I am aware of the problem I usually watch for it, but for me it is a major irritant. The other problem is with the cover for the hot shoe, it wants to slide off and I have finally lost it.
Battery life has been good, only once did I run the battery down to a forced shutdown. I use a 17 mm lens and get very good results, and I also have the 40 to 150 mm M 4-3 lens that is very lite and does a decent job.
I have read about the Olympus 12 mm lens, that runs about $700, and would like to add it to my equipment list, but in my opinion it is too much money for a camera of this limited ability. That has put me at a crossroad on how to move forward with better equipment and hopefully better photo's.
Currently, I am looking to upgrade to a different camera, but it is really difficult for me to give up on this neat little pen series camera. It has produced some very good images, I am totally comfortable with it, and I find that I use it because all of my equipment fits in one small bag, has interchangeable lenses, and is easily transportable.
Finally, I am reluctant to recommend this camera for serious photographers, it does its functions very well but not great, and it is not a camera a person can grow with because of it limited ability and the cost of the one excellent lens that is available for it. It would work well for urban and family photo's, but if you are a serious landscape photographer then I would spend a little more money and get a camera with a wide range of available quality lenses.

My First Interchangeable Lens Camera, March 10, 2012
By Joseph Mills (Bellevue, Nebraska)

I have had this camera for about three months and have to say that I am impressed. For such a small and dated sensor it really does do quite well. If you are looking for a camera with lens options and something smaller than the DSLR cameras this camera does the trick. I have received many compliments on my photographs and continue to have a lot of fun taking pictures with it.
There is one noticeable drawback due to the sensor type and size.
The main flaw is the high amount of noise present at any ISO level higher than 1000. In bright sunlight this camera takes photos comparable to entry level DSLR's. When in darker situations the photo quality begins to lessen. The noise is less if the camera is used with a tripod.
I use software to correct this, but it doesn't work sometimes.
I use mostly Panasonic lenses and am quite happy.
Great camera for good to higher quality shots. Not a replacement for the DSLR's though.

My very first interchangeable-lens camera and I love it., December 28, 2011

This camera has served me very well, apart from the lack of flash but I knew all about it when I was purchasing. The electronic viewfinder is pretty cool too. I love taking this around in my handbag. Been using it for a project 365 and it's not too heavy to deliberately forget at home. ;)

Excellent camera, November 29, 2011

I love this camera! I love to travel and used it recently while in Morocco (Check the photos that I posted on customer images for this camera).
This is the an excellent camera to have whether you are a professional photographer or someone who just wants to photograph the important events in their life.
PROS:
small and compact contains several photo presets such as landscape, pop art, sunset etc DSLR professional grade camera takes great quality photos perfect for traveling great for everyday use
CONS
does not come with flash does not come with viewfinder--have to use LCD screen Expensive considering that you have to buy the electric viewfinder and flash separately can be a bit heavier than a regular sized DSLR camera because of its frame
Besides some minor setbacks, I still highly recommend this camera. Definitely get the electric viewfinder if possible. It will certainly make photographing more enjoyable and your images will come out better since you will be able to see more of the image within the frame opposed to shooting off of the LCD screen alone.

this had to be returned, May 04, 2011

This one has very good specifications and is solidly built.. it is surprisingly fast as well.
However this comes in pieces. anything you'd want to do.. add or remove a piece.. that could be so cumbersome at times.. no Inbuilt flash.. that is not acceptable.. had to return it.
