Prior to ordering that lense I read countless reviews. It is true. That lense delivers excelenty photographs in case you consider some peculiarities. Actually it's not peculiarities handling the lense, but actually it is up to the user behind the camera.
Focussing in the near is a waiting game. The motor is useless if you have no time to focussing a motive. Better you decide using the "good old focussing by hand".
That lense is also a very good normal lense for indoors and for portraits.
My camera is a SONY-SLT A77, which by itself is pretty complex. I am convinced, that I will get far better pictures with this lense, if -one day- I have a fully perspective of my camera and it's options combined with that great lense.-

My first Sigma lens since purchasing a SD1 Merrill and glad I did. This lens was purchased for studio use regarding product and still life photography and the results have been excellent. I would purchase this lens again. The sharpness and color results while shooting products/still life under studio lights at f/8 are stunning!
