A GOOD LENS FOR A CANON CAMERA AT A GREAT PRICE, December 16, 2015

I'm using this Tamron lens on my new Canon 5D MKIII, it works great and the price is amazing. I've been taking pictures of little lizards and birds flying over head with it and could not be happier. I've even used it with the Tamron 1.4x tele extender and the camera will still auto focus with that set up. The pictures are sharp, the mechanisms feel good in use and it feels like a Canon high quality product even though it's not. Did I mention the price? Amazing quality for such a tiny purchase price.
This lens worked so well I've purchased some other Tamron products and have been quite satisfied.

Good entry level telescopic lens, December 05, 2015

Good entry level telescopic lens. Great telescopic lens for its price. You arent going to get the crystal clear shots of a hawk diving that you see in Natl Geo, but for photographing elk in the valley, or a hawk on a fencepost, it does pretty good. Pictures are pretty sharp up to 220-240mm, then things start losing sharpness as you zoom in further. Lens does great in good light, but only average in low light. For the price it is a good buy, its not a purchase I regret and its certainly a lens I'd recommend.

great beginner telephoto lens for the price! focuses well and fast. used it to take pics from my seat sec123, rowdd in centurylink nov 15 seattle seahawks versus Arizona cardinals w/c is about 1000 feet. pics were focused, clear and w/ telephoto lens you have to deal w/ hands shaking and there was none. carried two lenses, 18-55 and the tamron 70-300. 300 zoom from my seat was like taking a family pic of 12 from a 20 feet distance approximately.

No brainer, October 03, 2015

Great buy. When my canon 200 mm telephoto had the dreaded error 99. It would cost $200 to fix it. This lens is a 300mm with macro capability for much less money. A no brainier.

The value of this lens can be unsurpassed. The price point is very reasonable for a beginner photographer or even a spare lens for someone more experienced. I love the options this lens offers (macro) and great quality shots. Nothing but good things to say about this purchase.
