4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good shredder..., November 12, 2015
By Joey P.
This is a good shredder...side access bin which fits a standard kitchen trash bag for easy emptying.

Only issue is to shred credit cards and CDs, you have to flip a cover over the shredding slot, and it's a little flimsy so may eventually break.

It also has a paper thickness controlled auto cutoff, which seems like a good idea, but is kind of annoying when shredding whole envelopes, which can puff out and stop the shredder, even though the shredder is more than capable of actually shredding them.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fellowes 99Ci Shredder - EXCELLENT, November 04, 2015
By babydoc
A quick review after extensive use: EXCELLENT shredder. I have recently shredded a huge amount of old data; this machine easily handles 12 pages and cuts shredding time dramatically. Excellent for the price - only a fully business shredded, costing many times more, would have done better.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  An excellent shredder, November 03, 2015
By Richard Niell Donovan
I wanted a cross cut shredder that would take 10 or 12 or 15 pages at a time and have a storage been large enough to accommodate the traffic that I would bring it.

The first thing I did was to do some research about the companies that build shredders. For research suggested that Fellowes makes outstanding well-built shredders.

And I went on Fellowes website to figure out exactly which shredder would be appropriate for me.

And I went to Amazon to purchase the correct model.

This is my second Fellowes shredder, I have only good things to say about them.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  A good buy for a shredder that shreds only 7 sheets of 20 lb paper at a time (Regardless of how many sheets it is rated), November 01, 2015
By FishinDan49
The advertising description and all other reviewer comments aside, I shred income tax retur, ns printed on 8 1/2 X 11" 20Lb paper. It shreds 6 pages every time, 7 pages usually with no hickups, and it absolutely refuses to shred 8 pages at a time even if I just turned on the machine. I'd call it 7 pages max with 20LB paper. Even though the machine does not do the number of pages stated, I'd buy it again, I find that if you use it for 40 minutes at a time and 7 pages max it really does a good job- does a lot better than the three previous cheaper models I tried over several years before I bought this one. I bought it in November 2012 and have probably shredded 15,000 sheets with it over the last 3 years/tax seasons. I have learned to schedule my shred jobs to do 3 or 4 reams of paper per sitting, as the machine usually shuts down for about 40 minutes after shredding this much paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good workhorse, nice features, October 29, 2015
By Mixamaster
This is a good, medium-duty paper shredder. I bought it to replace a smaller Fellowes home unit that was just not up to the job for me. This is marketed as a low-end office shredder, but it takes up to 18 pages. It overheated on me once, but was using it to shred multiple years-worth of old financial documents and it took over an hour of steady use to get there. Just keep it oiled and it is fine. It can take nearly all credit card offers without opening, except the ones from Capitol One which have a heavy cardboard sheet with fake credit card attached. (They must do that to force you to open it. Nasty.) I like the separate off button, the slide-out bin, and the lights that indicate whether it is getting full. I also like the lights that indicate when your pile is getting close to the thickness limit. All-in-all an extremely useful machine. (And note: I had three boxes of papers to shred. At the going rate of $1 per pound, I saved money by buying this just for that job. That doesn't even count future savings!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  but it makes it kinda fun. Done, October 26, 2015

Finally! I have purchased and returned several "Heavy Duty Jam Proof" shredders. This one ROCKS! it is a paper eating monster! It doesn't jam, tells you if you are trying to put in too many pages. Actually, allows you to put in the number of pages on the marketing materials. Our little 4 person office shreds 30-50-100 pages a day. Not huge, but it makes it kinda fun. Done! Next?
