Great battery life, easy to use, October 27, 2015

This is such a nice upgrade from the handsfree unit it replaced at work. I had a Plantronics unit that fit great in my ear, was easy to put on/in my ear as soon as a call came in, but it was otherwise a complete disaster. People would literally hang up on me because they couldn't hear me, or they'd say I was breaking up - even though I could hear them just fine.
A person working in another department answers phones pretty much all day and uses this Jabra GO all the time and has done so for 2 years now. I had requested a hands-free set when she had lauded hers, and our telecommunications department instead brought me the Plantronics. They told me they were out of her model, so I shrugged and used it. In about 1 month, the battery was dead - so I requested another one. Again, the same model of Plantronics. I used it like a good little soldier for months, despite having people constantly complain that they couldn't hear me. Some calls went through flawlessly, but most did not.
Finally, there was no battery life left in the earpiece in just a few months. I'd leave it charged over night, and I'd get 2 minutes of talk time out of it. I was done.
I went to my colleague to quiz her on the model she was using - this Jabra GO 6470. She said she had no noticeable battery loss in the 2 years she used it and the only time she ever had anyone complain they couldn't hear her was when she had answered the phone from down in the hall or on the other side of her metal filing cabinets instead of seated at her desk.
Satisfied with that testimonial, I requested this model specifically and I got it. My only complaint after 3 weeks of use is the earpiece itself is uncomfortable. I know everyone has different shaped ears of different sizes, but it is way to snug for me. I do not like on the ear headsets - but the in the ear model just never fits right and I struggle putting it on every time the phone rings.
I'm not on the phone often - I'm a programmer, but when I do get calls, I am usually looking something up or fixing something online and I need my hands free, so a hands-free gadget was really a necessity for me.
My less than perfect rating is for the rigid behind the ear hook and inner ear inserts that do not fit properly AND there is no 3.5 mm jack - so I can't even use my own headset if I wanted to.
The unit is elegant to look at, easy to charge the headset and fairly easy to operate. So far, no one has had difficulty hearing me when I use the device.

NOT COMFORTABLE ON THE EARS, AND ITS A DISCONTINUED MODEL., May 05, 2015

I was very excited to have this arrive, however much to my disappointment, it did not meet up to the quality for the high price! I'm not normally one to complain, but even putting the headset on, was down right painful. Connecting was not too difficult, however I did have trouble with it connecting to my PC. My Cell & Desktop phone both seem to connect without issue. I have a Grandstream GXP2160 which it had no issues connecting to. My biggest complaint was that I was looking for a headset that would be comfortable and work across all platforms with no issues. What I got was very uncomfortable ear peices no matter which one I tried, and when it came to being able to monitor sound on my computer, it just didn't happen. The good news is that, after a bit of research I found a company Handsfree-communications.com that was able to fill me in that this unit was actually discontinued which I was not aware of, and that the Jabra motion Office was more of what I might be looking for! So at the advice if Cindy I took the leap and tried out the Motion Office and I love it! I haven't sent back the GO6470 yet but I plan on it! Cindy was so confident that I would like the Motion Office that she even let me try one out prior to buying! (Something that took me by surprise!) I find I can now go from my office, to the car, to roaming the house while listening to what is going on via my computer. So while I have to give a thumbs down, on the positive side of things at least I can still say that Jabra has an excellent solutions!
