Very Powerful Toothbrush
|

This thing has the power of a lawn mover (almost:))! I am very happy with this unit and like it much more than my last Oral-B toothbrush because it's easier to clean and much more powerful. My only criticism is that the charging base collects a residue of water, as all Oral-B products I've ever owned do, in which undesirable organisms grow! This requires cleaning every few days.

this felt like I was running a Rug Doctor over my teeth

I purchased this along with a Phillips rechargeable brush to compare the two. For me...this felt like I was running a Rug Doctor over my teeth...my daughter said it hurt her gums...yet a male friend thought it was perfect. Do men have warrior gums? Hmm The Phillips doesn't spin and works much better in my opinion. I asked my dentist and he recommended both. Its all down to circular spinning verses vibration. I think that both do a great job and have good in between recharging times.

I can't think of a single unkind thing to say about this toothbrush. It does everything a toothbrush should do and probably more. Who can even use all those settings? Other people may like the traditional oblong head -- and far be it from me to say they're wrong -- but me, I like the round kind and this one has it.

good toothbrush. It takes a while to charge

good toothbrush.
It takes a while to charge, though, and I thought it was a little pricey. Also, the replacement heads are very pricey -- make sure you're comfortable with those prices before buying this unit! The design could be improved by funneling water away from the base. It tripped my GFCI outlet once, and I think it's because I'd rinsed it and not dried it enough. Some water may have remained in the little recess where the power goes in. That recess is solid plastic (not like your iPhone or what-have-you), but if there's water on the plastic surface when it gets on the base I doubt that's great.
Has a nice feature where it vibrates a little every 30 seconds and then vibrates longer every 2 minutes. It doesn't lose track of the timing if you turn it off for a few seconds to rinse or apply more toothpaste.

No Pressure Sensor
|

I really like Braun (Oral B) products. I use a Braun Electric Razor and had a Pulsonic electric toothbrush. The Pulsonic was great until it stopped charging and they stopped making the brush heads. But onto the Pro 1000, unlike the Pulsonic's smooth vibration, this thing feels like it just rattles. Also, the brush head doesn't fit very tight. And finally, there is no pressure sensor. I can grab onto the thing and it just won't stop. There are other reviews that state the same thing about the pressure sensor...

Great for 10 year old with braces.

My 10 year old son has braces. His dentist mentioned him needing a spin brush to help his clean his teeth better. After scouring online reviews I came across this one. One website rated it the best spin brush on the market. The price is great. My sons loves it and his dentist already noticed a difference and it's been less than a month. The charging dock doesn't take up too much space.
