This thing is made of sturdy fabric, and has all the pockets and seams of a real lab coat! I bought the size 8/10 and it fits my daughter (5 y/o but wears size 7/8) pretty well. It's a tad long (which I anticipated) so it allows plenty of room for growth. And it is made so well, I think it will last for years!
