DO NOT purchase this document. Though not mentioned in the description, it is copyrighted 2003, which makes it useless, as in 2013 HIPAA was greatly expanded and requirements backed by heavy fines. I tried to email the author; his email is not valid.

This document is published in the form of a short paper - only 34 pages, stapled together. However, it really does provide everything that a small organization needs to implement HIPAA in only 24 hours of effort. It provides a good explanation of the principles behind the laws, briefings for the executive(s) or an organization and its staff, a project timeline, workflows, and sample policies & forms. Bravo!

This is a valuable overview of HIPAA compliance. It is helpful in organizing what needs to be done. It is useful for the HIPAA professional as well as a beginner. It clearly explains things that need to be done. Without reading book after book this explains it in a short document in terms that most can understand. If you need more detailed information you expand your resources and know what you are looking for. I believe most people even at this late date continue to be confused about HIPAA compliance.

I'm so glad I bought HIPAA in 24 Hours. We could not have made the required HIPAA changes to our doctors' office without it - it even had all the forms! Great buy!
