Recommended by my dentist

These picks were recommended by my dentist on my last visit. He thinks they're better than flossing, although he still recommends flossing. I use one of these picks nearly every day. The scrubbing action really cleans between teeth. I use them mainly on my back teeth, top and bottom. My dentist cautioned about getting too aggressive on my front teeth and creating gaps between my teeth and gums. They are easy to bend, so you have to get the angle just right, but once you get used to them, you can clean between all of your teeth very quickly. I'm getting ready to order again. The plastic travel boxes are handy. I keep some at work and in the car.

Soft-Pics work- not so good

They work really well. I use one, maybe two each time. After I brush my teeth. I stick the Soft-Pick down in the toothpaste. I rub it on the gum line then proceed to 'brush' between each tooth. I also reach way back and ''brush" the edge of the last molar. I think it works as well as floss, but sometimes I use both. Just in case...
EDIT April 12, 2017 I don't know what happened but these picks are not as strong as they were. I'm wondering if I first was basing my review on the picks (same brand but a larger amount), I purchased at Costco. They would usually last for all teeth.
These picks bend before I am half finished, sometimes only a quarter of the way through. I lowered the rating from five down to two.
I will be needing more soon. I am apprehensive about purchasing this brand again. I will look for another brand. Any recommendations?

Really helps between the teeth

I suffer from gingivitis big time and adding the GUM soft picks to my dental routine has really helped with the gaps in between the teeth that flossing can't properly clean out. My hygienist recommended dipping them in mouthwash and then using them. Helps tremendously with plaque build up.

Great for braces

Makes "flossing" with braces a breeze when time constraints keep you from doing it the real way with string floss. Would give 5 stars, but these do tend to bend and break quite easily if you angle it just the wrong way or push a bit too much. Otherwise, great for daily use for wearers of braces and those without as well.

I had originally received a small sample of these soft picks a few months ago. After an uncomfortable trip to the dentist, I found them and realized they were perfect for my sore gums. The dentist said they don't take the place of regular flossing (his opinion...) but work well to get between teeth and are certainly soft to the touch. I like the length and the soft bristles and think they work very well. The packs stash easily in a pocket, purse, lunch bag and/or cubicle - so they are handy when they are wanted or needed. I recommend these for anyone who needs a softer way to clean between teeth.

Pretty good

These are good. I used to use wooden toothpicks as my floss, until my new dentist recommended these, because the wood picks are too thick to get in between some teeth and can cause damage. I, in fact, did cause some damage with the old wooden picks and had to get some fillings.
My only gripe is that these things are kind of fragile and often bend/break while I use them. My other gripe is they are inconvenient to carry. The little plastic container provided in some packages is a nice thought, but practically speaking, it is too small and too much of a pain to open and close.
I often use toothpicks in the car and can't fumble around with these little plastic containers, which are not only too small, but then tearing off the individual toothpick is a clumsy ordeal too. I actually thought it would be great if the company invented something along the lines of a Pez dispenser for these things that was more convenient to use.
However, I have found that using an old Altoids tin works pretty well.
