Beware of black mold and disgusting crud. This is what my handle looked like after five years of use … gross! If my handle looked like this I can't imagine what the inside of the pump looks like.

Beware of Black MOLD in the hand-held wand.

I've had one of these for years now and I never really gave it much though, but the water that goes inside of the button to stop the water as well as the nozzle lets water sit inside of the handle and after time black-mold starts to grow! Just look at this picture: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/permalink/moX7OCGZOOKXFZ/B000GLRREU/
They do sell a replacement nozzle which I would recommend every 6 months, but also another way to keep the inside of the handle clean is to soak it in a diluted bleach solution or even peroxide. A good method to do this is in a campaign glass.

Simple repair saves big bucks

When my 2 year old waterpik started leaking from the bottom of the handle, I thought, "uh oh! now I have to replace the whole unit." After going to the Amazon site, I noticed it was possible to purchase a replacement for the handle only. BIG DIFFERENCE! New WaterPik? Handle Assembly kit? About a $50 difference. The delivery time was very quick. The new handle installed in minutes. And I was up and running within just a coupe of days of down time. Why was there a leak in the first place? I had apparently cracked the bottom of the pik inside the handle trying to remove it. Voila! AMAZON TO THE RESCUE!!!

waterpik handle replacement

Simple replacement for the original handle on which the feed tube had gotten brittle and broken. Always question why repair parts invariably require a whole assembly when you only need a gasket or a tube, and consequently, why you have to pay too much, but the part does what it was designed to do. Installation was straight forward; not complicated. Saved having to replace the entire unit which would have cost even more.

This replacement handle is perfect for the extension of life for the waterpick unit. Easy to install; could not tell that a replacement handle was installed. Installation was less than 2 minutes. After installing their was no leaks; my water pick now performs as it did when first purchased.

WP-100 Handle Assembly Kit

The original handle assembly failed because the hose separated. The replacement hose was received promptly and was well packaged. It was easy to install and works as well as the original did before the hose failure.
