Great for travel or if there is no electrical outlets by your sink.

I used the traditional waterpik but I moved to an older house that didn't have outlets in the bathrooms. After reading the reviews, I decided to try this one. In my opinion, unless you travel a lot or don't have outlets in your bathroom, Id go with a corded one. The biggest reason is that the tank hold more water. When reading the reviews, one guy said he could fill the tank once and use it for days......that's just not so. I fill it 4 times each time I use it. Once for top outer, another tank for top inner, then the same on the bottom. After all, if your going to take the time to use a waterpik, may as well do it right. Both are pretty noisy and your going to get water all over the place. I'm not disappointed with the cordless waterpik.

Portable and small

The cordless unit doesn't have as much power as my old plug-in model, but the convenience of storing it out of sight and being able to easily travel with it warrants 4 stars. As an adult with braces (again) it's doing the job of removing all the food stuck in them, so I'm not sure I needed the additional power anyway. It doesn't have any kind of battery indicator, so you have to guess at that, but it is pretty obvious when it needs to be charged. Overall, I'm happy with this product.

Love Waterpik, Just Not This One

After using the larger Waterpik Ultra (Model WP-100) for a couple of years, and getting great results from using it, I decided to buy one for my husband. I picked out this one because his bathroom is on the small side and this model is quite compact, plus he travels a lot so also liked the idea of it being cordless and portable. I bought it last December (2012) for a Christmas present.
The first problem with this model is the capacity, which is about half the size of the regular model. It's good for a quick go-around but not for thorough cleaning. You need to refill it for that.
But the real problem with this model is that you cannot clean the reservoir. After you finish using it, you can shake out the excess water but you cannot shake it all out and water drops remain inside the tank. Over time black mold starts to form along the bottom and sides of the reservoir. When we first discovered that, I tried pushing all sorts of skinny things through the little hole to get to the mold to wipe it off, but nothing was able to reach all the areas of the tank's interior. I finally wound up soaking it with white vinegar, full strength, overnight. I then used rolled up paper towel and stuff it down into the reservoir, took a chopstick and tried to swish the crumpled paper towel around to clean the interior. There are areas in the front of the reservoir that are impossible to reach and thus, remain dotted with the black mold. Very time consuming and frustrating.
This model is poorly designed. You should be able to snap out the bottom of the reservoir in order to thoroughly dry it after each use, or else Waterpik should provide a flexible brush that can be pushed into the reservoir to clean it thoroughly.
I give up! I just ordered another Model WP-100 for my husband. I'm not sure what I'll wind up doing with this one, since it's been eight months since I got it, and I can't return it to Amazon.
I do not recommend this model, but I do recommend the larger models.

Died after 7 months

This is an excellent product, until it dies. I'm now joining the numerous negative reviewers who have complained, explained and offered solutions to the one glaring problem: the product becomes unrechargeable after only a few months.
Waterpik's engineers may be out to lunch but their Customer Service staff is not. They ask for your name, address and date of purchase. A replacement is on your doorstep within a week. If I have to call Waterpik's 800 number every 7 months or so, so be it. I'm willing to do that until Waterpik fixes the problem or another excellent, reasonably priced water flosser comes along....

It works.

Works great and helps to get food stuck in between my teeth out. The problems are that the battery only lasts for 1 or 2 cleanings and it can get messy if you don't close your mouth enough over the sink. Needs to be charged everyday if you use it daily, I use only a few days a week.
