Very Happy with the Airfloss- seems to have no peer

I've been using this standard (not pro) model for many years now, and I am on my second one. The pulses of mist are plenty powerful for me, and it does a great job of flossing- without floss. There are some minor faults I've noted over the years, but nothing that would stop me from saying "I love it", which is the definition of five stars. Yes, first one died after several years of faithful service. Small price to pay for good checkups, so I'm fine with that. I use only mouthwash in this. I suspect that those who use water from the tap may have problems since any small particles in the water would clog up the works. You could use carefully filtered water too. I suspect that it doesn't like air travel, as my first one died shortly after 2 plane rides, so I usually don't take it. If I do take it, I'm careful to empty it and then operate it until all the liquid is out of the pressure system. The other fairly minor thing I've noted is that the tips begin to separate after about a year, and have to be replaced. Charging is very fast- a few hours vs my toothbrush (oral B) which takes forever it seems.

Don't waste your money

My old dentist sold me this. Don't waste your money! The most important purpose of a water flosser is to irrigate below the gum line. The pressure is way to high and will damage your gums worse than brushing too vigorously. I guess is works well as a flosser if you are sure not to hit your tongue. It delivers quite a jolt! I went back to regular flossing. I wish I gotten something like the Waterpik Flosser a few years back. The water pressure is adjustable so you can irrigate your gum line gently or floss between teeth on the higher pressure. Trust me! I'm recovering from gum graft surgery. It's not fun and could have been avoided if my dentist had sold me an adjustable water flosser instead of this stupid thing. And yes, I have a new dentist.

A crappy scam.

Flossing with bloody twine sux. So, we bought one of these crappy crapsticks directly from the dentist the day they came out, on her recommendation. It worked the first day. After that, intermittently. Repacked, placed in drawer, tried again 2 months later, still crap. After a crapload of manure from Phillips ( troubleshooting, they call it) when we reported the failure of the Sonicrap, (they were SHOCKED) we got an RA & shipped it to the s***factory (no prepaid return label, sorry sir/ma'am). Three weeks later, the replacement arrives. Sorry, again, but your warranty is only applicable from the purchase date of your -original- unit. No problem- what are the chances they'd both turn out s***? Guess again, sir/ma'am/sucker. So, we're out the $85+ the $9 to USPS the original crapster, & the second one failed -right out of the box. So, F you, Philips. Buy this s*** at your peril. Notice how the price has dropped over $30? Now you know why they are so cheap on O.com, eBay, and Amazon.

Solid performer, braces and all

Originally purchased this floss machine while still wearing braces, needing a portable solution that I could take to and fro, without having to worry about food in my teeth. For four solid years this floss machine performed like a champ; I only now had to replace it due to it no longer charging. (Which might also be due to having dropped it one time too many. :P) The water container is typically enough for me to floss all my teeth in one go. I typically add hydrogen peroxide to the water for a better clean.
In re-purchasing this item I considered the new version of this model but was deterred by the consistently bad complaints; however, I have no personal experience of my own with the new model. In any case, this model has served me well, and if it ain't broke, don't fix. ;)

Recommended by hygienist, but it was such a joke!!! I was so eager, that soon as it arrived, I tried it out... They have the right idea but still need to keep at it until they finally nail it. First the head/nozzle shoots off soon as you press start, tried holding it down, because I wasn't ready to give up yet, but then water/mouthwash shoots out in between the head/connection :( Had to return it and settled for a cordless water-pik

It's easy to use

I bought this after 2 rechargeable water-pick style flossers wouldn't recharge anymore. This one is the same brand as my electric toothbrush, so they can share a charger. It's easy to use, easy to re-charge, and my dental hygienist says my gums look good, which is my main goal. The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars: the reservoir that holds water (or mouthwash) is a little hard to completely dry out after each use, and I don't like the idea of letting water stand in it till the next day. However, this would not prevent me from buying another one.
