This Giro helmet features a snap-fit visor, and 20 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and stale, warm air out.

The Transfer sport helmet comes in Giro's Universal Fit Adult U size (54-61cm), carefully sculpted and size-specific to simplify the fitting process. Giro's Transfer helmet is a lightweight 255 grams, and complies with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets.

Helmet Tips--You Should Always...

  • Wear a helmet when you ride
  • Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
  • Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
  • Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
  • Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
  • Wear a helmet designed for your activity

About Giro
Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty much anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  excellent helmet, December 11, 2006
By Michael M. (Ohio, USA)
This is a very comfortable helmet with a nice fit. Most of the helmets you'll find in this price range don't fit well. Believe me, I've tried a number of them. But this one fits me great.

One small piece of advice: It has a more rounded appearance from the front than most bike helmets do. So if you don't like the thought of a "round" look when someone's looking at you straight on, this might not be the helmet for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Giro Helmet with "bang for your buck" pricing!!!, January 15, 2009
By Panama (California)
Hello everyone. Hope you all had wonderful holidays.

I'm a weekend road bike warrior riding between 45-80km/week on various road terrains and sometimes amateurly racing on a Specialized S-Works frame, LOOK carbon fork, Spinergy wheels, Shimano 105 components, Alanera carbon handlebars, CF02 carbon seat post, Bontrager RL Inform seat, etc., etc...I'm an experience amateur riding bikes for about 15 years now every chance I get. A few weeks ago, my old helmet was stolen (curse those theives!), and so I was in the market for a new one, but the economy being as it is, I didn't feel like spending a lot of money for a hobbie, so I thought I'd try this helmet. Also, my wife recently wanted to road bike also, transitioning from mountain biking, so I got her one also for Xmas. Now on to the helmet...

The Giro Transfer helmet is quite a nice helmet and is really priced to move. Amazon was pretty speedy in getting the helmet delivered too. I ordered the helmet on 12th and received it on the 18th of December, just in time for the weekend amateur road race. It came well packed in a Giro box inside an Amazon box.

That being said, I was impressed with the light weight of the helmet, as well as the universal fit adjusting system in the back of the helmet/head. Most helmets of this price category use a type of adjustment system that involves the sliding of straps and the placement of strap clamps to somewhat more-or-less properly adjust your helmet. I've never gotten a comfy fit from those systems. This helmet, however, has a dial mechanism that adjusts the helmet to your head much better than any helmet I've seen in this price category. Giro did well to put this mechanism on the helmet, as it's much less complicated than having to readjust the straps one way, then another, etc., as with the sliding systems. You usually find this mechanism on higher priced helmets.

As for the looks and riding coolness (temperature) of the helmet, many cycling partners were impressed with its look and design and the amount of air ducts it has. The helmet is quite comfortable, light and cool on the road, and I road bike in an area where at 7am, it's already 86+ F, warm, humid & tropical.

Although I hope to never find out, the helmet is quite compact and rigid and tough, and I feel quite secure wearing it. In fact, I feel so secure, I'm a bit more daring on some curves, especially those where I'm leading the group. With Giro's reputation, I'm sure it would hold up well if I were to have a fall. Let's just pray I don't.

Ok, that's it, hope this has helped you in your decision while looking for a road bike helmet. Take care.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great fit, great price, November 10, 2006
By Web designer, student (Chicago, IL)
I really like this helmet. It's from a name brand company who has made many contributions to the innovation of bicycling helmets. It fits well - it has the "dial" fit system (every helmet company has their own name for it). It's easy to adjust, comfortable, comes with extra padding (I guess in case your head doesn't fit perfectly). It's one size fits all.

It didn't come with a visor and I do not see an option for one. I guess just get some sunglasses. The helmet is very compact and very light. Amazing value.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Helmet-No Death, May 12, 2007
By J. A. Topps ((Washingtonville, NY)
I wore the helmet during the recent 39-mile Bike NY Tour. I didn't fall, and consequently, I didn't get to see if the helmet would prevent my death. But, knowing I was protected, I rode faster than I ever have and was whizzing down the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge at a brisk 24 mph to wrap up the race. If I do fall, I will get back to you and let you know how it worked to save my head. Of course, should it fail, I will not be able to write a further review.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great first helmet, October 17, 2007
By Newbie but a Techie (Wheaton, IL)
I usually don't like wearing helmets when I ride my bike but considering the risks, I've changed my tune and now think that it's wise to do so.

Having said that, I found this helmet at Dick's but thought that I can get a better deal at Amazon which I did. Great delivery etc. and the helmet fits well and has a nice neutral look to it.

on the fence? Buy it, you're not going to be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Buy, September 9, 2007
By iradik (Seattle, WA United States)
What a great price for a helmet, they are required where I live, and they make me feel safer, and there are no frills to this one. Yes, I do not look cool wearing a helmet but at least I didn't spend $60 because I was insecure about it!!! I think the helmet is designed for a normal sized to larger sized male head, based on how well it fit mine. I hope I never have to find out how good this helmet really is, but it gets good safety reviews if you search it on google. Bell helmets also get good reviews, but are more expensive and "designer."

3.0 out of 5 stars.  One size fits most, June 15, 2008
By Cauliflower Ear/ Jaundiced Eye (Middletown, NJ USA)
I needed a helmet after mine cracked from a road impact so I chose this model. However, my former 2006 Bell Furio fit me well and was offered in 3 size ranges (and cost more). This helmet somehow manages to align a hard spot toward the back with my skull. It seems to be the shaping, and the old helmet had the hard shell ever so slightly spaced from my head. I used the pads supplied with the Giro Transfer to help avoid this contact and adjusted as much as possible, but if the padding of my hair thins any more things could get uncomfortable. Best to try on before buying. PS - Added some stategically placed pads and got along until this helmet was pressed to save my head in an MTB crash - and that it did.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent helmet for $20., November 21, 2007
By M. Tariq (Atlanta, GA)
I really like the adjustable fitting knob; it is easily accessible and helps a snug fit. Only complaint is that the helmet is a bit wedge-shaped laterally in the rear; it is probably good for the aero-dynamics, but it makes it hard to put on a helmet light. Overall, I am very satisfied; its a great product for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This helmet saved my life!, July 15, 2009
By Davide Scarnecchia
I was looking for a decent helmet for a low price. I didn't care if it worked, because I didn't plan on ever crashing.

Well, I did crash and the helmet did work. It took the impact and shattered (I hit the pavement HARD!), but my head was fine. I'm absolutely convinced that if I wasn't wearing a helmet, I'd be dead or in the hospital.

How could I not buy another one?

It fits great (with adjustments), breathes well, looks good, and is reasonably priced. There are other helmets out there for a LOT more money, but I know this one works. I trust my life to this helmet.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  A good buy, May 7, 2007

A comfy and economical helmet that fits surprisingly well. Only flaw I'd say is the weird angle of the side straps. Nevertheless, a great deal for a sub-$30 helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  great helmet for an excellent price, July 31, 2008
By countrygirl (houston)
I was pleasantly surprised with this helmet considering it was $30.00. Its lightweight, breathes well and fits like a glove (love the head harness system). I initially purchased it because I am a female with a small build (and a small head) and the reviews stated that the helmet ran a bit on the smaller side. Its really lightweight, could be a pro or a con. That being said it seems durable, although hopefully I will never have a real test of that.

Pro:
*Cost
*Good Air flow
*Fits well
* Looks cool

Cons:
* Could use a sun shade
* adjustment knob is a little hard to turn, but you shouldn't have to adjust it that ofter.

Bottom line - I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This helmet saved my life!, February 24, 2011
By NUMB3RS NUT (Tennessee)
While out on a warm winter's day ride, I had a wreck last Sunday. I landed on the left side of my head. I hit the pavement so hard that I was knocked unconscious for a while. The helmet's exterior was damaged. The internal part of the helmet was crushed in one area and fractured throughout the rest. If you were to look at the helmet, you would be led to think that the person wearing it would have significant bruising and wounds. I had neither!!! Had I not been wearing this helmet, I don't think I would have survived the crash.

Before the wreck, I loved the helmet. I was impressed with the fit, styling, and comfort. It was my favorite I had ever owned. A couple of days ago, it was time to order a new helmet (so I'd be prepared if/when my family let me ride again). As you might expect, I ordered the same helmet. It arrived today.

My story is a testimony to the value of wearing a helmet (we did not have them when I was growing up). I also think it's a testimony about the value of this specific helmet.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Way too small for an average adult!, March 29, 2008
By Pittsburgher (Pittsburgh,Pa)
I ordered this helmet because the price was great, I liked the Red, White & Blue colors and free shipping! It arrived fine, but when I took this universal fit adult helmet out of the box it sat on the top of my head and there was no way it was going to fit. Even if I took everything out of the helmet it was way too small. It looked like a child's helmet. Thinking that perhaps my head was bigger than average I asked my very normal sized wife to try it on. It was too small for her too. So, I'm thinking that a child's helmet was packaged incorrectly in an adult box. Anyway, maybe universal fit is not the way to go. I returned it the next day and I'll look for helmets marked S,M,L.

I use this Helmet for racing wooden soap box cars down steep inclines. Recently I had a wreck and it really worked, although a nail on a long piece of wood pierced my forehead (5 stiches). The Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet is a good buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good helmet, though not the best looking., September 20, 2010
By Steven M. Foote (Provo, UT)
One of the things I really like about this helmet is that the straps fit really well. Many of the helmets I have used in the past had straps that would move around and really bug me, but this one has straps twisted in a way that they fit comfortably.

I don't really love the look of the helmet. The size and placement of the vents make it look more like a cheap helmet than a Giro, but it is a pretty cheap helmet, so I guess that is to be expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good for the money, August 14, 2009
By NH (NYC)
I bought the black one. Good considering it's only $30. Take time getting it fitted to your head. Or else, you might get a nasty headache if it is too tight. It comes with extra foam paddings to stick inside the helmet where ever you think it is necessary. There is an adjustable wheel at the back to customize the fit to your head.

The helmet is made of compressed styrofoam. I am a motorcyclist and was surprised helmets are made of this material instead of much harder composite materials. I guess this material makes it light and shock absorbent. The picture (in black) looks like it has a matt-black, carbon-fiber look to it. In reality, it has a shiny, plasticky finish. Aside from that unfortunate business, I am happy with this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fits perfectly, October 22, 2010
By DJ MAGGI
As soon as I put this on I knew I had found my helmet. Apparently this is the up and coming trend for style with bike helmets but I look like a mushroom head in everything. I still think the swept back/aerodynamic ones look a little cooler but I have read the bicycle safety sites as well as Consumer Reports reviews and they like the fact that this has "no snags". Makes sense to me so I bought it. Safety first!

I have a little bigger than average size head and after trying them on at an outdoors store I came here to buy it for less.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great helmet at a great price, June 23, 2010
By ksp (Upper Midwest, USA)
The Giro Transfer Sport helmet I purchased is excellent. It took a while to adjust the straps to get the helmet to fit me just right, but this was a one-time thing. I wear my helmet every time I ride my bike, and it is very lightweight almost to the point that I don't realize I have it on. The air vents keep you cool and provide plenty of airflow. The helmet looks very nice also. This model has gone up about $15 since I purchase it, but even at $40 it is still a great buy! I would recommend this helmet to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A great value!, August 26, 2009
By Brian L. Batson (Kansas)
This is my first road bike helmet, but I cannot see a need to upgrade from this model anytime soon. It's so light that I sometimes forget that I'm wearing it. It looks like a more expensive race replica without being gaudy. It can easily be adjusted to fit myself or either of my younger sons in seconds. I'm road biking more than I had anticipated and this helmet has served me well over the past month. I plan on buying a couple more of these helmets for my boys.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Still makes my head look like a mushroom, May 11, 2010
By smatsushima1
If this helmet taught me anything, it's that I should just accept the fact that my head will look like a mushroom no matter what helmet I wear. Now, I can argue that this helmet might make my head look more like a mushroom compared to other helmets but that only results from the helmet's thicker material, so I guess I should be thankful.

I will not dock any points because this helmet abides by the helmet safety laws, which all helmets must follow, and is definitely one of the cheapest on amazon. It fit my huge head perfectly - just one notch below the last available widening notch.

Overall, a wonderful helmet that fit my head perfectly. Too bad I still look like toad.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Solid Helmet, October 21, 2008
By Lauren Crandell (San Francisco, CA)
I picked this helmet for a couple reasons - style and price. I think it's a great helmet for the price. Not 100% sure it does the job since I haven't crashed yet; but I suppose ideally, I'll never find out just how much protection this helmet gives me. My only complaint is the "one size fits all" sizing. It does technically fit; but I'm a small female and this helmet looks gigantic on my head. I suppose if I had wanted to pay more, I could have had a custom-fit helmet; so overall, I'm happy with the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Giro Bike Helmet, July 4, 2009
By BBTFan (Tennessee)
Only wore it once, but it was a very nice helmet (problem with new bike....ended up with a different bicycle and color, so helmet no longer matched; Amazon was great about accepting it back). Helmet was very lightweight and airy, and very adjustable. I had a little trouble figuring out the neck straps, but once that was done, I was very pleased. The detailed description made me think that there was a visor that could be added, but there was not one. The picture never showed one, so that should have been an indicator to me. I was very pleased with the helmet, and I would recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Saved my noggin!, August 24, 2011
By pete15042 (Westford, MA)
Got this one after I cracked my old helmet. I have a large head and this helmet fit perfectly with a few twists of the adjuster knob in the back. I've found it very comfortable to wear, but most importantly it did it's job a few weeks ago when I was riding home at night without a light (yes, bad idea, I know). One moment I was cycling along listening to the Red Sox, the next I was waking up face down in the middle of the street. I have no recollection of how I got there. I was diagnosed with a mild concussion. When I checked my helmet the next day, I saw it was crushed in the front and side. Better the helmet than my skull! I'm sure I would be MUCH worse off if I had not been wearing a helmet. I'm ordering my new one now (along with my new 1000 lumen Magicshine bike light).

4.0 out of 5 stars.  What I expected, August 7, 2011
By Amazonian (mobile (as in, untethered, not Alabama)
This is a really great helmet, especially for the price. I didnt want a visor, some crazy graphics, or any extra "bells and whistles". Plain Jane, colors were exactly as shown. I like the mechanism that adjusts fit in the back. There's a good number of air vents, and the helmet is relatively light. There are more expensive helmets with better vents, but if your bike didn't cost the same as a compact car, you likely won't need it.

Purchased for my husband who like it a lot. He says it is light and keeps his head cool. The sizing was easy to adjust. Nice helmet. He does wish that it had a visor. But it was a good buy for the money at under $25.00.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not Good for Large Heads, June 29, 2011
By kjboulder
The helmet seems OK, but it did not fit me very well. I have a fairly large head, and needed to loosen the size adjustment all the way just to get the helmet on. Then the strap in back that goes from the top of the helmet to the chin strap has a kink in it that digs into my head. I had a Bell helmet before, and did not need to loosen the adjuster all the way. This helmet was not comfortable, and I am returning it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A good buy for a really good helmet, June 22, 2011
By rsnyder
I have really stepped up my cycling this year. I enjoy 50+ mile trips on the local bike trails and ride my bike to work a couple days a week, 12 miles each way.
I bought this helmet as a replacement for one that I cracked in an accident a couple of weeks ago. I hope I never find out if keeps my head as safe as my previous one did, just a mild concussion. It is very comfortable and fits me well.
I read the reviews about the straps not lying flat and was concerned about them. After making the proper adjustment for fit, I hardly notice them. It has better air flow than my old helmet.
I definitely like this helmet and recommend this it, especially for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  It is what it is !!!, June 9, 2011
By Skeptic Tank (San Jose, CA)
Bought this hard hat for my wife. She loves the fit and the ease of adjustment. It straps on and rides just as good as the $400 one at the LBS. We're small potatoes when it comes to bike riding, 5-10 miles per day around the neighborhood. It does what it's supposed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Cheap, Effective, and Awesome... What Else Do You Need?, June 5, 2011
By mlove
Let me start by explaining that a) I'm a poor college student, b) I enjoy riding quite a bit, c) I compete in triathlons at the intercollegiate club sports level. This helmet rides fast and doesn't seem to break that critical weight point where your neck gets tired holding it up. It breathes well and looks good on most people I've seen wear it (you don't get that flop to the side look that you see on so many triathletes). It has good adjustment but honestly it has a natural fit about it that leads to most people not using it. Best of all, the helmet is extraordinarily cheap compared to most out there. Unless you're riding at a professional level, I cannot see why anyone would chose a more expensive, yet similar helmet. Only downside I could see is that it has no sun-shade like some. This doesn't bother me as I wear sunglasses while riding.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very good helmet for the price, May 17, 2011
By joshuaRobot
This helmet has everything you should be looking for in a low-end helmet. It has an adjustable wheel in the back to fit to your head, and it comes with a bunch of extra foam that you can Velcro in. It looks like a standard bike helmet when you are wearing it. The clip is good, and the strap is thick and durable. The one small issue i have had is that the rubber band that was used to hold the extra strap in place broke off. That problem was remedied by putting another rubber band in the same place.

I could not find a better helmet for the price, and i have been using this helmet for over a year now. cheap and durable - what more could you want?

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bike helmet, January 30, 2011
By Matthew Snow
I purchased this bike helmet in anticipation of receiving a new Giant Revel 2 bike for Christmas. After some adjustments and placing the comfort strips in the appropriate place at the underside of the helmet, she fits great. A comfortable fit with all the protection I should need against the nuts driving out on the highways.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  My first helmet, September 19, 2010
By Jim (Allegan, Michigan USA)
My first helmet. As a senior who's fixed up my old bike my wife said that I need a helmet. Read some reviews and purchased the black Giro Universal. It's very light, and was easy to adjust and fits well. I like it and am smart enough to know that it's a valuable safety item. I ride several miles in and around our small town on most days when weather permits.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great helmet for those looking for one without the visor, August 28, 2010
By Crystal Verdick (St Louis, MO)
This a very durable helmet that looks great on. Yes, your head still will look like you are wearing a mushroom but it's smaller than some I have tried. The helmet itself is very light and fits great. My head is pretty small but the adjustable mechanism makes it fit perfectly. I would definitely recommend this helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable, January 7, 2010
By Allison (Massachusetts)
I have a small head. Youth helmets are too small but most regular adult helmets are too large. The dial allows me to adjust the fit nicely. My husband has one too (and a much larger head than me) and has been quite happy with it. It's a decent helmet for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Giro Transfer Helmet, December 16, 2009
By Yoyo (Richland, WA)
We bought this helmet with a Bell Solar Bike Helmet. We had tried the fit of the Giro at a Sports Authority store and the wife liked the fit, but not the colors they had available. The helmets and packaging are so similar, they look like they could have been manufactured by the same company. We found the color desired (red/gunmetal) at Amazon at a lower price than the retail store. I found the Bell while looking for the Giro. I liked the price primarily, but when the helmets arrived, we found them to be basically interchangeable once the dial adjustment was set properly. This is odd since our heads are not similar at all! I guess universal means universal... The Giro is a good name and good quality. It was a good purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  great helmet, November 30, 2009
By rochellemaureen
Love this helmet, it even fits my huge head. Seriously, I have a huge head... usually wear a men's large in hats and sometimes that doesn't even cut it. The helmet has to be angled around a bit, and the straps adjusted, but that is exactly what they're there for so I say yes to this helmet.

It's one of the cheapest in the market, one of the best brands it has enough open spaces to let your head breath, it's a gorgeous black that looks nice and aerodynamic, the adjustable ring works great, it's comfortable, it comes with additional padding to stick inside... well, do you need more?

This helmet was super easy to adjust the right size. It's very comfortable, and looks pretty nice too. I can't vouch for its' ability to protect my head in the event of an accident, but I'm sure it's fine in that regard. I'd definitely buy the Giro brand again.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Giro Transfer - Even without the described snap-fit visor, March 25, 2010
By Mark Dwayne (Needham, MA.)
I purchased this helmet fully expecting to receive it and have it not fit, given the proportions of my skull. Right out of the box it fit like a glove as it were. I am very pleased. The fact that the helmet did not ship with the snap-fit visor that was listed in the helmet description does not bother me. The helmet is very light weight yet rigid and the 20 vents lend to a very discernable cooling effect. I find this helmet extremely comfortable even after wearing for a considerable amount of time. I definately feel I got the most for my buck with this helmet making it very economical. I would recommend this helmet for young or old with its dial a fit feature and if looks matter I'm of the opinion that it is a great style making it adequately functional as well as great looking.I am a true fan of the Giro Transport Helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fits my giant noggin OK., March 16, 2010
By 3|173 800k |/|4v3n (Ph1||yP4 |)
Not only is my head size a rather large 7-3/4, my head is rather oval in shape, long and skinny. I usually do not rant on such matters, but it appears that at least two of the previous reviewers, and one of the previous reviewers wives, had larger heads than me. I would really like to meet them, if only to take a picture in which I did not appear to be the big misshapen head freak. Just once I would like to pass through a hotel lobby without hearing the words "hydrocephalic", "pumpkinhead", or "phewww!@!". (The last comment refers to an unrelated though unfortunate gastric condition)

My Giro Transfer fit just fine, after I turned the little wheel in the back to its wide open position. Maybe that's the part that stumped a few of the other purchasers. It is light. It is cheap. It is minimally dorky, somewhere between regular and special Olympics. And, get this. The straps are color matched to the helmet color.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  Chin strap problems, August 18, 2009
By David Barr (Illinois)
I purchased the helmet because of price and general reputation and the advice of a friend with a helmet of the same brand. This helmet, however, has positioned the safety chin straps where they intersect the rear inside of the helmet in such a way that they bunch up and poke the back of your head. We put extra cushioning there, which helps, but should not be needed. Our Trek helmet is much more comfortable.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Looks Good, April 18, 2009
By SirReddSir (White Plains, NY)
Good looking helmet, which I assume works (no crashes yet).

HOWEVER, if you have a larger than average head (as I apparently do), this helmet does look a little strange... kinda like a mushroom top. No bike helmet is going to be particularly attractive, but a large-headed person would be smart to purchase a larger helmet than this.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good helmet, but not for large heads, December 30, 2008
By John Le (Denver, CO)
I have a large skull, but as a universal-fit helmet, I expected this to fit well. Well, it does fit, but tightly. Mainly, the sides of my head are pressured against the helmet; when I bite down and the muscles on the side of my head bulge, it is uncomfortable. There is an itty-bitty gap between my forehead and the helmet, which is slightly annoying. My head is a tad bit larger (wider) than the helmet can accommodate well. The helmet makes odd contacts with the top of my head, too; some parts of my head are touching the helmet while leaving gaps in other parts. I suspect that if I were to have a head-on collision, those odd contact points would receive the bulk of the forces. Anyway, despite my gripes with this helmet, it fits (albeit tightly) and that other models costs twice as much so I'm keeping it anyway.

By Kyle Ford
I bought this helmet so I could ride on the street to train as well as to wear in my first triathalon. it fits well, especially after you use the extra pads it comes with to customize it. it is light, looks good, and stays wear I strap it on my skull. the straps coming down past your ears are the only part that was a bit annoying, but after one ride I never noticed it again. a great helmet, at a great price

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Sufficient, October 30, 2010
By Kevin
The helmet does look oddly round from the front, which I don't care so much about. It's a helmet, it's not going to look cool. More importantly, the helmet is uncomfortable. The adjustment straps for the "one-size fits all" design get scrunched up on the interior of the helmet right on top of my head. You have to make sure to pull all of the straps out and then tighten it to fit your head. All of this seems normal, but other helmets can be adjusted and stay adjusted. The strap on this one always feels loose.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  comfortable and good fit, June 30, 2009
By L. MG
I like there is a lot of colors to chose from. For being a universal fit, the helmet fit snuggly in my head and also in my boyfriend's big head. I gave it 4 stars because the painting in mine was a little off (not well aligned with the holes in the helmet). Also, like others said, it makes your head look like a "mushroom" shape. For the price this is a great helmet!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love it!, November 17, 2011
By J. Taylor (San Diego, CA)
I was wearing a different bike helmet, and the straps were cheap, and they twisted easily, it felt as if I had fallen, it wouldn't really stay on my head.

This helmet has nice straps, that don't twist easily, and it adjusts so well that if I fell, I feel it would actually stay on my head. It is a big upgrade compared to my regular bike helmet.

By arendadru (columbus)
The helmet is great, lots of adjustments can be made to fit your head at such a low price. You can get your perfect fit with just a little effort. I agree with another reviewer, it does look kind of "round" on your head. It's not sleek looking like you would expect. Doesn't bother me a bit, just an FYI for other buyers.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  outstanding value, January 20, 2012
By P.C. Thomas (Fort Myers, FL United States)
For the money this helmet is tough to beat. It's comfortable and features the easy dial adjustment fit that you can do with one hand. It's also very well ventilated for a helmet in this price range. I have since upgraded to the much more expensive Giro Atmos to get even more air flow but I still sometimes wear this helmet when it's cold out. This is an excellent entry level helmet and is a great value.
