5.0 out of 5 stars.  Very Satisfied, December 17, 2008
By Kt
I just got this helmet delivered to me about 20 minutes ago.
The design is great, and it fits my head perfectly. They provide extra pads (thin and thick, medium is the defult) so you can adjust. If you don't like the BELL logo on the helmet, you can easily take it off as it is just a sticker. Mine left no sticky residue or anything, and it looks great. They provide you with an extra sticker, too.

This properly protects my forehead, as well as the back of my head.
If you are not sure what size to get, go to their website and they tell you how to properly measure your head size, and provide a size chart. That's what I did, and got a good fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best bike commuting helmet, at a great price, June 20, 2007
By Thomas D. Kehoe (Boulder, CO USA)
I've used a lot of bicycle helmets over the last 30 years. The Bell Faction is the best commuting helmet. It's one of the only helmets that you can put a rear-view mirror onto. The helmet seems safer than because the vents are smaller, the shell is thicker, and the helmet comes down further in the back and on the sides. I've never felt hot wearing this helmet. I wouldn't want to wear it on a five-mile climb on a 90-degree day, but for riding around town it's fine. In the winter I tape over the vents and stuff the vents with foam. Below 20 degrees I wish it had a fleece liner, but next winter I'll figure out how to make one.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  COMFORT! STYLE! QUALITY!, August 10, 2008
By LEGAL NAME: OPTIMUS PRIME (Helmand, Afghanistan)
This is THE best bicycle helmet I have ever had. I ordered it for in Baghdad Iraq, because the ones AAFES sells are junk. I can't believe how comfortable it is. It is VERY cushy in the top. It makes me feel much safer with the side protection. Other guys keep asking me where I got it, so I know it looks good too!

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Obnoxiously huge helmet despite correct size, August 10, 2010
By Ratboy55 (South San Francisco, CA)
I've worn helmets for skateboarding in the past and I didn't think that this helmet would look so huge on my head. I bought a medium sized matte black helmet and when I received it, wow, totally huge. I went to a Sports Authority store to see the same helmets there (at a higher overhead price) to see if a small made a difference. This helmet is just flat out huge by default. When I wore it the first time around while riding my bike, my girlfriend thought I was going to Iraq to fight the war because she thought I had a military helmet on (lol). It was quite cumbersome to wear while riding my road bike. I didn't know if it was more of a hazard than a safety component to my regiment for riding bikes. I returned the item. Definitely not for me. I would probably focus on buying a helmet that doesn't make you turn into a pumpkin head. The photos of this helmet are quite misleading.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  bell faction bike helmet, March 10, 2008
By Patrick L. Robertson Sr. (williamsburg, va United States)
very nice helmet,a little heavy.the only complaint i have is while there was plenty of extra padding for adjusting around the perimeter of the helmet there was none for the very top.your head will come in contact with a very hard surface at the top center.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  More protection, and it doesn't look geeky!, August 29, 2009
By Jackson (Las Vegas, Nevada)
This was reccomended by the local bicyle shop, because he said it gave more protection than the standard bike helmet I already owned. It is comfortable, and it looks a lot better. Even my sons (19 & 21), their friends, who refuse to wear helmets, and my wife agreed.

I also took some Jogalite Silver reflective tape, and styled the back of the black helmet to be light reflective, as an extra safety precaution. Just a little tape placed near rear vents looks like it was designed with the helmet, and doesn't look nerdy.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Feels good, looks good, August 7, 2008
By Cliff (Richmond, VA USA)
This helmet is comfortable, and when I street skate wearing it, I forget I have it on my head. Mine is charcoal gray, and when I look in the mirror with it on, it makes my face look better than with it off.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Quality, Fits Perfectly, March 23, 2010
By Adam Flanders (Belfast, Maine)
I bought the "Matte White Plaid" helmet in Large. I measured my head before ordering and used their size chart to decide which size I needed. I used my dad's Amazon Prime to get free 2-day shipping, which made this an awesome deal considering the helmet itself was only $31. I ordered it Saturday and received it today (Tuesday). The quality is great and it fits perfectly. It also comes with extra foam padding in case I need to make any adjustments. The strap is soft against my face and it looks good. The BELL stickers can be removed if you want to have a blank helmet or want to add your own stickers. I haven't used it enough to determine the ventilation quality, but 12 ventilation holes, so I assume it will be fine. I'm really happy with this helmet - after doing a lot of research for the best option for rollerblading and biking, I'm glad I went with this particular product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable and secure, September 8, 2008
By September Radecki (Silicon Valley, CA, USA)
This helmet replaces my old Bell helmet, which was about 5 years old. I thought I liked my old helmet, but then I got this one. It is way more comfortable than the old one, not as hot, fits my head better, and it's even a bright, adorable, shiny pink! What more could you want?

5.0 out of 5 stars.  You are trusting your life to what you are wearing, April 13, 2010
By C-Monster (Wilds of Northern California)
When I was riding Motorcycles many years ago and rode about twenty years or about 200,000 mile, I was using a Bell Helmet. You are trusting your life to what you are wearing. When I though I want to get a bicycle to partly relive my motorcycle days and partly for local transportation, I got a Bell bicycle helmet again. As usual the quality is very good. The color is molded in the plastic and you can adjust the liner inside the helmet with spare pad that come with it. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that Amazon dose not carry this type of helmet in a large white (I got a plane black one). Once you get the helmet adjusted to fit you head, you hardly know you are wearing it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  This is a real Bell-ringer!, February 24, 2008
By R. F. Tardif (Sacramento, CA)
This helmet yields great protection for the only part of me that works really well. I certainly use it whenever I ride my bike. The neihbors giggle when I wear it to clean my bike but, hey, who cares; it keeps me safe. In the winter the holes (there by design) let in enough air to keep me cool... cooler than I want to be. It will work out just great during the hot summers here in Sacramento... rather like crainial AC. Great product and packaging, speedy delivery, and a fair price. Just thinking about it makes me want to buy another!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  A helmet, for safety, not a fashion statement, September 3, 2011
By L. Comerford (Carmel, NY USA)
I picked Bell rather than another good coverage helmet because at one time they made a good motorcycle helmet so I had some brand recognition. Overall, I'm satisfied and comfortable with this helmet. I gave four stars because, in the absence of test data, I can't vouch that there's nothing better.

I think this form of helmet should be more common. Watching the Tour this year I saw lots of riders go down. Some had head injuries despite the helmet they wore. This raises questions about the effectiveness of the common shape of helmet. I saw a documentary on a bike company that claimed the designers of the common helmets all had ponytails so they designed a helmet that was comfortable despite the ponytail haircut. I ride bikes and motorcycles (with a full face motor-sports helmet). I don't have a ponytail. I want a bicycle helmet that, unlike the ponytail-accomodating-high-fashion lids offers some protection for my frontal, temporal and occipital lobes. This helmet offer that coverage. It's comfortable. The ventilation is OK. The sizing inserts allow it to be tailored to my head size. If I were to do any riding at night, I'd add some SOLAS reflective tape to the front, back and sides. Patches of this tape ought be included with the helmet.

Personally, I'd like to see more helmet vs brain trauma testing since bicycles can reach automotive speeds. I've been hit at automotive speeds by a drunk, an age enfeebled (I'm 64 so no bias here) gentleman (who tried to flee the scene) and a "distracted" driver. Hence, I think helmets that are more than a security blanket (read ponytail liberating fashion statement) are a really good idea.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good helmet, but not the best for bicycling, May 24, 2011
By jschristian44
I got this helmet for my road bicycle. I know that there are road bicycle helmets that look more aerodynamic, but they do not cover the back of my head if I fall backwards or sideways. That is why I got this kind of helmet, so I could wear it with anything. I have been on 2 long trips on my bicycle so far with this. 10 miles each day, that is pretty long for me. Anyways, by the time I was done, my head was sweating a little, but it probably would have with any helmet because it was near 90 degrees each day I rode. Anyways, the fit is pretty snug. I feel it will protect my head very well. Bicycling is very dangerous because people have no respect for them. This helmet can be used for skateboarding, bicycling, bunjee jumping, kayaking, the list is endless. If I had to do it again, I probably would have gotten one with a little more ventilation because on 90 degree days, and like 30 miles on a bike it tends to get super hot. But the helmet didn't get as hot as I thought it would, it's about normal. I'd rather have a hot helmet than a broken brain. For the price I paid, this helmet does a good job and I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent protection; subtle in Matte Black., June 12, 2011
By khc
My [giant!] head measured 23 inches around...the "Large" Faction is adjustable for 22.75 inches to 24.75 inches. When I received the helmet, it had the "medium" (about 1/4 in. thick, uncompressed) pads installed. The fit was perfect as shipped. Just needed to adjust the neck strap to fit snugly. I'm an older guy, and use the helmet for recreational & leisure bicycling.

A couple of other items...

Pads. The helmets also ships with thinner (about 1/8th in. thick uncompressed) and thicker (about 1/2 in. uncompressed) pads. One pad adjusts the forehead & temples, and the other pad is for the back of the skull; they install on small velcro discs glued to the helmet interior. There is also a pad at the top/crown of the head.

Certifications. In addition to the CPSC Bicycle Helmet and ASTM 1492 standards, the labeling says the helmet complies with "CE EN 1078" safety standards [just guessing it's European]. Visually, this helmet does seem to have a bit more "foam" padding, and a bit more rear and side coverage, but I don't don't if that impression is accurate, or if it makes the helmet "safer." The Faction does have fewer vents than most bicycle-specific helmets. It is labeled as a "BMX/Skate" helmet, though most retailers describe it as "multi-sport."

Finish. I have the Matte Black, which shows fingerprints. I would have preferred White, but [as another reviewer noted] Amazon doesn't sell all possible size/color configurations of the Faction.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Comfortable, Well-fitting Helmet, March 20, 2011
By Stuart Steele (Austin, TX)
I have not had an accident in this, so I can only comment on its build quality and its comfort. The quality is high, with a a fairly thick shell, and a good layer of polystyrene energy-absorbing foam. The neck strap is of good quality and size, and has a quick release buckle. The fit and comfort are good. Bell provided three sizes of fitting pads, so it it possible to get a good fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Helmet is cool, shipper wasn't., June 26, 2007
By Yoelly (Washington, D.C.)
I think I've already done this, but Amazon won't stop molesting my e-mail, so I'll do it again.

The helmet itself is a helmet, though it looks more red than burnt orange...not that it matters because I put decals on it as soon as I had had it for a few days...now it looks pretty damned cool.

My problem was how long it took to get to me. I paid for the extra shipping as I needed the helmet for my job, but it still took 3 weeks to get to me...despite repeated calls to the wharehouse in Florida that went unresponded to. It was after the last of these "Where's my helmet, folks?" that I finally got the notice that it had shipped. In the end, I'm not sure I'll be ordering anything from the shipper of any bike related items, it's just not worth all that waiting around.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great helmet, June 22, 2011
By Ryan (Omaha, NE USA)
The helmet is great. I looked at a few others while shopping for one and this one won out on price, comfort and safety. The only thing that annoys me is the "Bell" on front of the helmet but a sticker will take care of that.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Very cute, June 13, 2011
By NutMac (Mountain View, CA)
As a concerned parent, I've done a lot of research on safety. Many, including experts, recommend Bell Faction as a cream of the crop, certified by every major safety standards. Although considerably more expensive than branded helmets (e.g., Disney), Bell Faction is offers significantly better protection and considerably better made.

My 2.5-year boy measures 75th percentile and this small-sized white critters helmet offers perfect fitting with included extra padding. It is extremely cute and highly adjustable. My only complaint is installation of padding, which is not at all explained as to which goes where.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love this helmet!, January 30, 2011
By Dog mama
This helmet was exactly as pictured. It came with an extra set of pads and fit perfectly. I selected it to go with my new aqua-colored cruiser bike. Because I am an older rider, I like the extra security and coverage that this style provides. I found it to be, however, just as comfortable ventilation-wise as a typical bike helmet. I noticed a lot of people smiling at me when I rode by and can only assume it is because I looked so cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice helmet, September 10, 2010
By Brian Dentlinger (Chicago)
I've had this helmet for a couple of weeks and it works out great for me. I use it for mountain biking. I got a medium and use the thinnest inserts pads and it fits great. I wear a 7 1/8 to 7 1/4 in a fitted hat. It's well ventilated and stays on my head. I like it and would recommend it to somebody else.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Decent Helmet- Decent Price- simple but nice design, April 17, 2010
By bjetner
I like this helmet because of its simple design. I'm not a fan of the helmets that make me look like an alien with a huge cone on the back of my head. I don't want a bunch of frufru things. It has a few vents which are nice. The strap is nice and soft so it doesn't chaff your neck. The outer shell is hard plastic which I like for some reason.

Overall this helmet is light. It also comes with a few different thickness of pads. The measurements for fit work well. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Does the job, April 2, 2010
By Michael Hayes (Seattle, WA)
These flat rock-climbing helmets are all the rage for bikers now, and I decided to go "hip" since I don't race and don't need the aerodynamics.

Three different levels of padding come with the helmet, which is how you set the basic fit. the rest is in the two strap adjustments.

I worried the lack of more adjustability would make the helmet hard to fit properly, but I rode into a wind and didn't have any problems with it moving. Some tighter type of strap clips might be good for adjustments, or a system you could adjust on the fly with it on, so you could tighten it down with a yank in a wind but loosen it a bit when you need to, say, open your mouth. :-)

Great helmet so far.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Basic, but perfect, September 10, 2011
By ljay85
The BELL stickers are plastic and remove easily. I bought the basic black one. I like it. It comes with thin, medium, and thick cushions so you can fit it to your head. I bought this style of helmet because I don't care to look "fast", with the aerodynamic competitive racing bike helmet standard style. So when guys wearing a couple grand of gear, bike included, pass me, they'll know I'm transporting groceries, not training for a race. This helmet says nothing, except: I'd prefer a buffer between my head and the pavement when a texting driver runs a stop sign and plows me over. This helmet replaces the one that saved my scalp some serious road rash when the last in-a-hurry driver finally came to a halt 20 feet past the big red sign that says STOP.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Solid bicycle helmet, August 25, 2011
By S. Carlson (Huntington Beach, CA, USA)
When my wife got her new bicycle she hadn't ridden in about 15 years and decided that she really needed a helmet...with the caveat that it had to: 1) look cool; 2) be "kinda girly" and 3) not be so heavy as to be uncomfortable. We managed to decide on this Bell Faction helmet with a stylish Paul Frank design on it. She was very happy with the fit and the look, and it appears to be well made for protection in typical bike falls. Fortunately, so far, we haven't had to find out what it's really made of...but she feels confident riding with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  More head coverage and a comfy fit in an affordable helmet, August 24, 2011
By Someone (Alameda, CA, USA)
Although the statistics I've read say that front head impacts are common and rear ones, rare -- hence the importance of not tilting a helmet back, which would leave the forehead exposed -- I do feel safer with the Faction's extra coverage at the back of the head.

A helmet is useless if it comes off during a crash. The strap adjustment process for the Faction is annoying, and the chin strap loosens quickly, especially if used to carry or hang the helmet. Nevertheless, through a combination of: measuring my head and selecting the right base helmet size, choosing carefully from among the interior pads (each piece comes in three thicknesses), adjusting the straps, and checking them frequently, I have gotten the helmet to fit snugly and yet still comfortably.

I have found the ventilation to be adequate, if not perfect. I use a better-vented Bell Impulse helmet when very hot weather is expected.

The Faction IS big, but who cares? Safety, not fashion, is its purpose.

I have given it four stars instead of five because: (a) Bell advertises it as skateboard-certified (1492 standard) but doesn't affix the sticker to prove it and (b) Bell does not seem to sell approved accessories for this model. The testing processes for bicycle helmets (US: CPSC; Europe: 1078) only cover accessories offered by the manufacturer. Third-party accessories like stick-on or wear-underneath visors, wear-inside skull caps, clip-on mirrors and stick-on lights could change the helmet's performance in a crash. Basically, with known-safe accessories, this helmet could be made more versatile. Bell sells/supports accessories for some of its other models, and Bern makes heavily-accessorized helmets.

Tip: Choose a bright color and/or affix reflective tape for extra daytime and especially nighttime visibility. Again, where helmets are concerned, form should follow function.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Review, August 18, 2011
By Frank
The helmet is sturdy, reliable, and not as Styrofoamy than I thought, which I think is better. I'm not sure if it can take multiple hits, but I bike in L.A. traffic...and with this around my head, I feel much better. Go for it. Spend the 30ish now, and not the 30,000 in the hospital.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Helmet, August 12, 2011
By kociscak
Had a bit of trouble ordering the correct size, based on the indications for head sizes, figured I needed a large - large was massive - easily had two inches on the sides of my head - I downgraded to a Medium - fits perfectly, (I am an adult female age 37) comfortable, secure and cute - I use this as my cycling helmet - it is not heavy on the head like you would think, most times unless it is really hot outside, I don't even realize I have it on.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A Quality Bike Helmet with more protection than the standard helmet, August 8, 2011
By winox essential (San Francisco, CA USA)
I bought this helmet for the protection that comes with greater head coverage than the standard bike helmet format. The quality of the helmet was very apparent and it fit my head without any adjustment (by changing to thicker or thinner foam padding pieces that came with the helmet). The Bell name provided some additional confidence of quality as it is a name I'm familiar with from my past purchase of the Bell motorcycle helmet. I would definitely recommend the purchase of this helmet if a stylish look is not your primary requirement.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  As comfortable as I can imagine a helmet being..., August 2, 2011
By MussSyke
My head looks normal (says me) but must be large because of my hat/helmet size. Somehow, this thing makes my head look small, and that's not a good thing. I guess I was avoiding the bicycle helmets because I didn't want to look like a dork, but I guess all helmets are going to be less cool than wearing a helmet. Even so, the responsible adult in me won out, and at least the comfort level and a pair of sunglasses enabled me to quickly get in the habit of wearing.

Plain black and without the stickers is probably the best I'll ever be able to do. So I'm happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  my great bright helmet!, June 20, 2011
By Darcie (Chicago, IL USA)
This is a great helmet, haven't needed it's protection in an accident yet, but I wear it no matter how short the bike ride is. The helmet fits true to size, and color and description are right on. It's a comfortable helmet and stylish....fashionable and functioning!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Let Me Pile On - Sweet Helmet, June 18, 2011
By Col Stormin Norman (Centreville, VA)
I purchased a sweet Mongoose 3.0 bike and had to upgrade my helmet. After reading the reviews, this was my choice. As the comments state, it looks great, fits very well, is easy to adjust and has even gotten comments at my work - apparently, the flat matte finish with the checkered background is SO in - I'm 53 - now that's how I roll ;^>
Great helmet, good value, great looks, and safety in case some texting-can't-drive-yet-whoops-I-hit-a-biker chucklehead creases your thigh.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Helmet, June 13, 2011
By B. Ellis (Lexington, SC)
Bought this to serve as my bicycle helmet (just can't get into the looks of those almost-alien helmets). The fit is great and I like that the outer shell is a bit harder than that of most standard bicycle helmets. I also appreciated the fact that it includes three liners of differing sizes. I have a pretty big head, but decided after trying the small liner that I will go with the Medium size as it makes for a snug fit. I can't attest to its strength and durability during a fall (haven't taken one in years), but I will say that for the money you can't go wrong with this helmet.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Bell Faction Helmet, May 10, 2011
By D. Lappenga
I love this helmet for my 6-year-old! It is the first one that actually stays in place on his head, and I have confidence it will protect him in a fall as any helmet possibly could. Other helmets would always slide back from his forehead, no matter how snug we would make the straps. The changeable pad inserts are very helpful in this regard - you can customize the sizing perfectly to his head. I totally recommend this helmet!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Love It!!!!, March 28, 2011
By macoffie
I ordered this helmet online because I couldn't find anything in our area that was girly yet skater style. When I got it I was pleased that it actually fit perfect and was the exact color shown on the site. (Sometimes you order stuff and when it comes it's a shade or two off)It also came with extra pads just in case you need a little adjusting. I would totaly order from this site again.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Cool looking helmet, March 28, 2011
By Ky
This helmet is pretty nice. The cute animals on it look so awesome. The helmet fits well and comes with three different sets of pads for the many different sizes of noggins. I decided to get a helmet after scraping the right side of my face off while longboarding. It's a little but larger than the other "more compact" longboarding/skateboarding helmets I've seen.

By pen name
As far as helmets go the Faction is great. Price is unbeatable, quality top notch. It's cool in the summer and does the job. The bat graphic is pretty cool and low key. If you do not wear a helmet while skating now, just suck it up and start wearing one.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great for ice boating, December 30, 2009
By Speedster (New England)
I needed to protect my brain cells while ice boating. I used to wear just a baseball cap until my iceboat flipped over and popped my head. This helmet comes with different thickness pads to insert to make a firm fit against your head, and does not obstruct your view; perfect for rocketing across the ice!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Basic, gets the job done, November 20, 2009
By heypeaceman (los angeles, CA USA)
This helmet is a no-frills brain bucket. I use it for biking around a busy city because I like the extra protection it gives. It's more like an army helmet than a bike helmet, but that's fine by me. It looks exactly as advertised, and the large size fits my big noggin just fine. It's simple and gets the job done. I'm thinking about putting a thin beanie on underneath and attacking the ski slopes this winter.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  A helmet he will actually wear., November 2, 2009
By shoppingpro (Burlington, Vermont United States)
My 12 year old son is too cool to wear a helmet. We've had several discussions about the importance of wearing a helmet when he rides his bike to school and he always tried to sneak away in the morning without it. Finally, it dawned on me to let him pick out a helmet that he thought was cool and would wear. Darn it if he has not worn this new helmet every day since it arrived!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Geat Helmet, September 23, 2009
By IAMSLICK
You can tell this helmet is built with a lot of quality and is very safe. I bought it for my 10 year old son (4ft 6in, 65 lbs), and it fits him very nicely. I think he will be able to wear it for a few years too, which is always nice. It comes with extra padding that you can add for a more snug fit if you want to.

You can't go wrong with this helmet. It is the IN style right now, and accomplishes that without compromising safety and quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great helmet, February 19, 2009
By alg (Austin, TX)
Like the others, I was attracted to this helmet's basic styling versus most other bicycle helmets. The added back and side coverage is a plus also. The helmet is very comfortable once it is properly fitted using the included pads and by adjusting the straps.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fits my 4-year-old girl's huge dome and makes me happy!, February 15, 2011
By la fishy (new york, new york)
My girl is all heart. She'll try anything, because she's smart and she knows that's the best way to learn. I love her brain, and I really want her whole domepiece to be very, very safe. So I shelled out for this helmet because she outgrew her rinky dink Dora helmet...the one I bought when she was smaller and less able to really hurt herself in a fall. She moves a lot faster now, and wants to do more dangerous things, like ride her trike without me, learn to rollerskate (!), etc. I don't have the stomach for all these mortal risks, so I spend the money on a helmet that's all business. Does she look like she has an (even more) enormous head in this thing? Yes. It's an adult helmet. I bought the FACTION, not the FRACTION, because some other awesome reviewer had explained that the largest FACTION wouldn't provide any room to grow, as it's only a smidge smaller than the medium FACTION, which is what I got. The helmet comes with pads to customize the fit, but because my kid has a lot of hair, she doesn't need the pads. The medium adult helmet fits her. It damn near fits me, actually. Like I said, smart kid=big head to house huge brain:) I love the helmet, she loves the helmet, so she'll wear it, and she'll be safe in it for at least a year or two. Great bargain.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Approved by my 2 year Old, January 31, 2012
By Macca (New York, NY)
My 24 month old got the bike / helmet for Christmas. He was very excited. We thought he may not like having the helmet on, but he was excited and learned quickly - No Helmet = No Bike.

At first, the helmet was to big for him until we used the inserts supplied (Fits well now and we have room for him to grow and continue using). My 24 month old is 25 percentile for head / height / weight for those trying to assess.

Seems sturdy, maybe a touch heavy for him, but think he will be ok in a few months. Fortunately we have not really tested the helmet's safety / reaction to impact. I expect that will be coming, but until then cannot give you any color.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Is what they say it is., January 16, 2012
By Teller
No problems. Got it for snow skiing. Went skiing with it and worked just fine. Had no major falls but looks like it would protect well. Wore a balaclava under it and head was easily warm. The temp though was not colder than upper 20s/lower 30s. No wind.
I have a large head and have trouble with hats/helmets being big enough. Often a size large is not big enough (sometimes even extra large isn't) but this helmet in large fit easily. Comes with multiple pads to fit it to your head more precisely.
Happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Just Get One and Ride :-) !, January 10, 2012
By R. Clark (Georgia - USA)
Great for an adult who doesn't care for the aerodynamic looking bicycle helmets. I've had a Protec before, and actually thought the Bell would look a little strange, it doesn't. I find I actually like it better than the Protec. Once I start riding, I actually forget I'm wearing it. My head measures approx. 23.25", and I wear a Large, it fits perfect, it's snug (just right), and I feel well protected. It actually looks and feels like a helmet. Just Get One and ride!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  good helmet, December 31, 2011
By janestagg63
The sizing was not as accurate as I would have liked. My head measured right in the middle of the small helmet - but with the padding inside the helmet it was a brain squeezer. I advise to measure as directed and then probably go up a size. They come with an extra set of pads, so when the old ones become soiled, you can replace them. The different colors are great - I got 6 of them for the family, including myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Well made, functional helmet...however...., November 6, 2011
By M. Waters (Bethany, OK USA)
This is a well constructed helmet. Anyone would feel safe riding around in it. My problem with it is that the helmet has a weird profile. The back of it sort of swells out giving it a strange profile shape. Perhaps this is an added safety/strength measure. Regardless, I find it to strange for my tastes. I hate that because it is a nice helmet otherwise. I've noticed that NONE of the pictures of it show a strictly side profile of the product. I now understand why.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good fit., September 15, 2011
By Frank Gibbs
The sizing chart was very accurate. I also like the fact that it comes with three different foam thicknesses for finer scale adjustments within one's size. It would be nice if they came out with a reflective finish. I think helmets should be as visible as possible when used for bike riding, because that is the highest point of the rider.

Great helmet. I got it in magenta, and it's very pretty. It's sparkly, not matte, so I'll be riding in style. I went back and forth between the small and medium, but went with the medium. It comes with a set of thicker padding you can add that makes it tighter. Great price too!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great, Trendy Helmet, October 18, 2011
By M. Sarrao (New Mexico, USA)
I bought this for my 10-year-old because he outgrew the helmet he has had since he was 6 or 7. I appreciate how this one comes in different sizes, so I could measure my son's head and purchase the correct size. No guess-work there, and the helmet fits perfectly. Even so, it comes with extra pads in case it is slightly large. You can just pull out the thinner ones and insert the thicker ones. They attach by velcro. Some reviewers have commented that this helmet is quite large, but I don't feel that this is so. This helmet doesn't seem overly large to me. It is a different shape than most bike helmets. It is rounder, more like a ski helmet. But then, I believe this is designed to work for bikes, skateboards, etc. I love that this helmet comes in so many styles, so my son could pick one he really likes. Great helmet. True to size. Good price.
