4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great little item, August 25, 2008
By J. Tucker (Missouri)
These tire levers are thicker than usual, making them very easy to use and helpful for both taking the tires of my mountain bike putting them back on. My only complaint is that you only get 2 of them (generally tire levers come in 3's), but this isn't a big deal and they still work fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Best levers, April 16, 2009
By Sara Tolliver
I am a bike mechanic and have used Park Tool plastic levers, metal core levers, and countless other generic brands. No other brand has worked as well as Pedro's. They are a bit bulky and cumbersome with stubborn tires, but I have had very few break on me at the shop. They also clip onto spokes nicely and therefore eliminate the need for 3 levers. I have my own personal set that clip together and fit in my small saddle bag nicely. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Awesome!, January 18, 2010
By Sunny (OC, California)
I read the reviews on Amazon and online for good bicycle tire levers and I have to say Pedro's Bicycle Tire Levers are the best! They are very sturdy.

They come in a pair and I thought I only needed one to change the tire. Well it turns out it's easier to use two at the same time. So if you like to have a spare at home I recommend purchasing two pairs of these. One for the road and one at home, it's the same shipping price anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Indispensible tool for avid bicyclists, December 2, 2009
By John Q Public (Long Island, NY)
For those of us who ride in bike-unfriendly terrain (mountain biking over trails with jagged rocks or urban riding with curb-jumping over broken-glass-strewn sidewalks), this tool is indispensable.

With a spare tube and portable pump, this set of tire levers is your salvation if you get a flat, so you don't get stranded miles from help.

Highly recommended for avid cyclists!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  pretty cool, May 29, 2009
By Dante El Camino
this was the first time I've ever changed a tire on a bike, so i rolled the dice and got these because of their low price. the picture makes them look a little flimsy, but they're actually pretty tough. they did the job well, and they snap together so you don't loose one. not much else to say... buy them.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  They work great, April 27, 2009
By E. Patacsil Jr. (Stockton, CA)
Inexpensive and work great for me removing 700c x 23 road tires. Also, work fairly well for putting the tires back on except for that last quarter or so that requires a lot of muscle. From what I've seen, I'll agree with others that most companies sell tire levers in packs of 3 BUT I have seen some sold in pairs AND in my use, 2 has been plenty enough. Get the first lever on and hooked on a spoke, slide in the next lever and I can run it all the way around and remove the tire. Lastly, from my research through bicycle repair books and websites, this set from Pedro's come highly recommended above other brands (including Park Tool).

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Not as effective on wheels with flat spokes, July 25, 2011
By Andrew Marshall
Pros:
- Sturdy
- Easy to grip
- Snap together design is nice

Cons:
- They have a notch on one side so that one tire lever can be hooked onto a spoke and the other used to remove the rest of the tire from the rim. My spokes are flat instead of round, so I cannot hook the tire lever onto a spoke. Would be nice if they made the notch a little wider.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Tire Levers, November 5, 2009
By Bielle (USA)
These levers are sturdy and thick. I changed several flats (both mountain and road tires) with these levers and experienced zero issues. I received these from a bike mechanic during an instructional course where I learned to easily remove all but the most stubborn tires with one lever, so the lack of a third lever did not impact my review. They take up just slightly more room than the flimsier levers but perform significantly better - I highly recommend these levers.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Thick but durable., April 10, 2009
By C. Badham (salt lick city, ut)
After having gone through 2-3 different sets of levers and breaking or bending the crap out of every one of them, I settled on the Pedro's and haven't looked back. These are a bit on the thick side, but they work great. I've been stranded because of broken tire levers and these haven't ever let me down.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Rock Solid & Effective, December 9, 2008
By Aaron Stewart (Palo Alto, CA)
I got a set of these tire levers to replace some small black (brand unknown) tire levers I had used previously. The small black ones bent precipitiously during every use and each broke over the course of about 6 uses.

These Pedro's levers, by comparison, are rock solid and work just as well. They have an "I-Beam" structure that gives them good rigidity and are made out of a thick, durable plastic. They snap together for storage, and generally do what you'd want tire levers to do. Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Work better than thinner ones, July 26, 2008
By E. Gonzalez (San Jose, CA)
I first changed my tube last week with some other levers from my local bike store, one of them broke and I finally replaced the tube after about 30 minutes (with the help of my girlfriend) and after many blisters, we got it done. I should also say, i have those tires made with kevlar, so they get tough to put around the rim towards the last part. I tried these yesterday with another flat I got, and it only took me about 8 minutes, tops, and it was much easier than last time. These work really good.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Sturdy, October 28, 2008
By T. Jones
I have not had the opportunity to change a tire with these yet (fortunately), but I can tell they are very sturdy and should be able to withstand the abuse. They are made of very thick plastic, are lightweight, but are unfortunately a bit bulky. I have a small saddle bag, and it just barely fits in with the rest of my spare tire stuff.

Overall, I would recommend this product for the price and quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  dangerous, September 27, 2009

They might be a bit stronger than typical plastic tire tools but when I broke one the piece almost hit me in the eye. They ought to be taken off the market!

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Low Quality and Hard to Use, July 10, 2011
By William Richard
These tire irons are low quality and difficult to use. The are made from cheep plastic - I've had 2 sets break on me in the last 2 weeks. The plastic is thick, making them almost impossible to get under any tire that isn't too big for the rim. Furthermore, half the time when I finally manage to jam it down under the tire, I manage to get both edges to the tire so I am pulling off the entire tire. It is rediculously difficult to get the thick, clumsy edge of these iron under one edge of the tire and not the other.

If you are serious about fixing you tires in a timely, easy manner, go but a metal set of tire irons, not these cheep hunks of plastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great Levers - highly recommended, June 16, 2011
By R. DAILEY (GA)
After breaking tire levers years ago on my mountain bike, I thought I would take a chance on these based on other reviews. I'm glad I did. These things are about twice as wide as the old levers (mmmm, beefy!), and the curve is perfect to slide right under the bead. I was able to take the rear tire on my roadbike right off, replace the tube and get back to riding.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Good Tire Levers When Used Properly, June 2, 2011
By L. Dyer
Now that I know how to use them, Pedro's tire levers have worked well and will not damage the rim or tires. The first time I went to use them on my road bike tires, I snapped the tip off of one of the tire levers. I then realized that the spoon part of the levers, that goes under the tire bead, is much thicker at the base than at the tip (makes getting them under the bead easier). Once you have the tip of the lever under the bead, be sure you use the base to leverage the tire against the rim to pull it off. If the lever is not seated under the tire bead far enough, when you go to take the tire off the rim, the leverage will be on the tip of the lever and will cause the tip to snap off since that is the weakest part.

I contacted Pedro's on their Website for a replacement under their lifetime warranty, which was hassle free. They had me email them a claim form with a picture of the broken lever and they promptly sent out a new pair to me. Before the Pedro's tire levers I used a Quik-Stik Tire Changer (colors may vary) which is harder to get under the tire bead and can damage the tire bead when used repeatedly. The spoke clip on the Pedro's lever is a plus as well. Overall I would rather use the Pedro's lever and I save the Quik-Stik for an emergency.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  best tire lever yet, March 22, 2011
By danagram
I can't recommend these levers enough. I have some pretty stubborn tires and were using Park Tools' levers and some generic levers and they both bent at the curves. Pedro's levers don't do that, and two is enough to get the job done. They feel good in your hands, they come in a variety of attractive colors, they lock on the spokes pretty well and they don't bust.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Fully Equiped, December 23, 2010
By Big-D (Lake Havasu City, AZ United States)
These Pedro's Tire Levers are perfect for a quick tire change on your bike. I like the little built-in areas to slip them over a spoke to free up your hand to be used along the tire. The way they are constructed allows to change a tire or repair a tube without the worry of pinching the tube causing additional damage. Simple, well design and easy to use. Does the job.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Perfect, November 12, 2010
By B. Glaser (Pennsylvania, USA)
It's a set of two - you don't need three I don't think. They snap together. Made of thick plastic, doubt they would ever break. Just what I needed. Go Pedro!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  like magic, November 6, 2010
By Kent (Irvine, CA)
These two little pieces are plastic are like magic. They make removing the tire off the rim very easy. It only has 2, compared to others with 3, but 2 is enough. They click tight together so you won't lose them in pieces. I attempted to use fingers before this and it required lots of effort with no results.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  They work great, September 25, 2010
By T. Burgess (Tulsa, OK)
I bought two sets of these to go with each bike, and have had to use them twice so far. Luckily, not on the road, but at home. I like that I can slip one end into the spokes and use the other to easily take the tire off. Using them to pop a stubborn tire back onto the rim was easy too. They didn't bend or flex, they were pretty solid, and gave no indication they would ever break. Great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  2 not 3?, January 5, 2009

They are very strong, light and tough and seem to be very durable
I think they are very good option for changing difficult tires

But you only receive 2 instead 3 as all the brands do

Pedro's Bicycle Tire Lever (Pair)
Not much you can say about tire levers - these do the job perfectly. They're lightweight if you like to carry your tools with you, a little fatter than other tire levers I've used which I like as it makes them nicer/easier to hold while you work with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Easy Peasy: A Pedro's Bicycle Tire Lever Review, January 5, 2011
By www.LBphoto.net (Dallas, TX)
I recently signed up with Team In Training to do a 60 mile off road mountain bike race. I've ridden bike on solid surface for years, but have never taken the time to learn how to maintain my bike. Now that I'm off road, everything has changed. It wasn't long before I had to change a flat tube. One of my teammates had a three lever set and showed me how to change the tube. At that point, I knew I had to get my own levers. I chose Pedro's because of the high ratings even though these are nothing like what I had just previously used.

A couple weeks later, I hit a rock and burst my tube. This time I was on my own and used my new levers. These levers are much thicker and sturdier. One side slides up under the tire, while the other notched side fastens securely on a spoke when needed. Even though I had one less lever, changing the tube was much simpler than using my teammate's three lever set. Then once finished, the levers snap together for convenient storage.

If you are looking for a quality set of tire levers, Pedro's bicycle tire levers are an excellent choice. Don't let the lack of a third lever dissuade you, it won't be missed.

PROS:
Sturdy plastic construction
Snaps together for storage
Simple to use

CONS:
None that I can think of

5.0 out of 5 stars.  better than metal, September 1, 2011
By wes
I've had these levers (before they got stolen) and they were amazing. I never had problems with accidentally puncturing tubes. I recently switched to metal levers and have punctured a countless number of tubes. I decided to go back to these.

This is a great tire lever and seems very strong and does not give when working. I like that they snap together and you can clip it on to a spoke when working to free up a hand.
