All the Advantages of a Box but None of the Disadvantages

Thule's Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag is designed to simultaneously maximize both storage possibilities and convenience. As handy as a cargo box is, when space is tight -- for instance if you live in an apartment, or have maxed out your garage -- storing one can be a challenge. Capable of carrying up to 17 cubic feet of cargo and weighing a meager 10 lbs (4.5 kg), the Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag gives you the same advantages of a large cargo box at a fraction of the space to store it after use. It features a reversible zipper that allows it to expand from its standard size of 15 cubic feet, to an impressive 17 cubic feet. And if you have less than this to haul, simply cinch it down when loaded and in seconds you are ready to roll. It also keeps its shape while protecting items with its internal foam structure. This also makes for easier loading and unloading.

Easy Installation

Installation of the Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag is simple. Designed for use with virtually any roof rack -- Thule or otherwise -- it fits between your rack's crossbars and is secured via heavy-duty cargo buckles, anchoring rings and double stitched webbing. (If the distance between your crossbars is less than 41-inches, increase the distance or drape the remaining length of the bag over rear crossbar.) The buckles and straps allow you to attach the bag either to the crossbars at the front and rear, to rack elements at the sides, or both using the included four attachment straps. Altering the positioning of the bag when draped over a vehicle is made easy with the inclusion of reinforced handles along the side straps that allow virtually anyone to move the bag with ease.

Weather Resistant Design

The Thule Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag has been designed to be as weather resistant as possible. To start with it is constructed with super-tough, PVC-coated nylon and utilizes taped seams and storm flaps to keep your contents safe and dry. It's Velcro lined zipper pulls also add an extra layer of protection, securing each end to the other, ensuring that your zipper is always sealed against the elements. Finally, the included storage bag protects against incidental moisture, dirt and contact when the bag is away from your vehicle and not in use.

About Thule

Thule was founded in 1942 by the Thulin family, when Eric Thulin, a true lover of the outdoors, put the Thule name on a pike trap he designed and began to sell in Scandinavia. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. 5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works as Advertised, July 4, 2008
By BRD (Austin, Texas)
We bought the Thule Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag for a roadtrip from Texas to Florida.

1. The bag was easy to use, and the instructions were good. It attached right onto our roof rack with no probolem. I had read other reviews and knew to have safety pins (8 to be exact) to secure the excess strapping to the bag, or it will make noise while you're driving.

2. It rained on us part of the way down, but our luggage was inside plastic bags. The plastic bags did get wet, but our luggage was fine. I would say that the bag is weather resistant as claimed becasue there wasn't much water in the bag after the storm.

3. The bag produced drag, and it affected our gas mileage and gas was over $4.00 / gallon at the time.

4. Removing and putting on the bag at each of our stops wasn't a big deal. We only had 2 suit cases, and a toiletry bag in there - so it was a snap to get them out/in, and then the bag off/on.

The bottom line is that if you need extra space in your vehicle, don't have or want to spend the money on a hard top cargo carrier, and probably if you're not driving 1600 miles roun-trip (my opinion that this better for shorter trips) - then this bag is right for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great luggage system, flexible and functional, June 23, 2010
By K. New
I just returned from taking my family to the Outer Banks (NC) and had used a big old hard top case to help transport all the stuff that would not fit in the back of our Nissan Xterra. Just as we arrived, I foolishly pulled my car into a carport and totally destroyed, along with my ego, the top carrier. I really trashed it, twisting and ripping it to bits. What to do? How would I get my stuff back home?

I carefully researched several options on Amazon and almost bought another hard top case to be delivered overnight... but I read in a review that the Xterra's cross bars were too wide for the mount (saved by good research!). This lead me to my second choice, this Thule soft bag. To make a long story short, this should have been my first choice. I now have a flexible (it expands as needed) top carrier system that stores in its own bag when not needed. I don't waste valuable space in my garage like I did with the big hard case - this one sits on a shelf, neatly, in the basement until I need it again.

So how did it perform? Very well. This case sits down on the roof between the cross bars so it is much lower than a hard case. This makes it much easier to load and delivers better fuel economy. We averaged about 3 mpg more on our return trip. The case is thick, sturdy and soft. No scratches on my roof. I used every bit of expanded space to stuff tons of things and it swallowed them all. It has four adjustable straps built into the bag that snap it down into a tight form so there is no wind flapping. We had no rain, but I have read reviews where users survived rain storms without any water seaping inside. Other reviews said some items got wet. Either way, the bag is said to be water resistant, not water proof. Indeed, the zippers and sealing over-flaps do look to be weather resistant, if not completely weather proof. Some users just wrap items in a garbage bag for added safty.

I am very satisfied with this car top luggage system. It is functional, stylish, well-made and flexible. The foam reinforced bag holds it shape better when stuffed, which helps with air flow and fuel economy. It can be used on any vehicle with top bars, meaning it can be used on other vehicles that I may purchase in the future. It's a little more expensive than some of the other soft bags on the market, but this is an example of you get what you pay for. I highly recommend this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Works well for camping, January 10, 2010
By Yoko007 (Berkeley, CA)
To gain more space for camping equipment, I assumed I'd need a cargo box, but once I learned of Thule cargo bags I reconsidered. The obvious benefit of having something light weight that can be stashed in a bag made a lot of sense. So I poured over the positive user reviews of many alternative vendors' products available on Amazon. I ultimately chose the Tahoe because it has the most space, it's durable, and it doesn't require a specific spacing for the roof bars. I'm completely satisfied. It takes me about 5-10 minutes to strap it onto the bars, by myself. I'm able to put 2 tents, 2 kids chairs, 2 sleeping bags, 2 pillows, and 4 mattress rolls in it, by myself. One could probably get more into it, but my 2001 Sienna's bars are in a fixed position so a portion of the back of the bag rests on and behind the back bar. I don't know if they were necessary, but I went ahead and used 4 bungee cords to secure each corner to the roof rack side brackets. I'm especially pleased with how the zippers operate because I have to really stretch to reach the one that runs along the back of the bag and pull it with one finger. The bag is now stashed with the rest of the camping equipment.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great space saver, August 1, 2008
By J. Ketzenberger (Indianapolis, IN)
We bought the Tahoe from Thule because the three teenagers we tote to vacation take up a lot more space. We were able to fit all our luggage for a two-week vacation in the roomy cargo bag. We drove through very hard rain for much of the 500-mile trip, yet our luggage was barely damp. The side hand-holds make it easy to use and the storage bag makes it easy to store. This one costs more, but it's worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  it's okay..., August 31, 2008
By M. Walker (Greenville, SC USA)
If you are thinking about buying this item, take a look at the picture first. Because it is what you are going to get beside the perfect shape.
The description says the foam holds it's shape for aerodynamics. Yes, I guess if you packed it like that. Just make sure you trash bag your stuff incase it rains...The bag it not waterproof. But over all, short or long trips if you want a cheap cargo carrier this one is pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Dependable and Well Made, July 1, 2009
By Diamond Hog
I have only used the cargo bag on a couple of trips, but was very pleased both times. During one trip, we encoutered light to moderate rain over a timespan of 3-4 hours, and the bag kept all items dry.

One of key features of this rooftop carrier is the expandable portion of the bag. Another review noted the impact to gas mileage, and while there was a difference it was only slight in our case. I only experienced a change in gas mileage when the bag was fully expanded, but in either case you can make the cargo bag more aerodynamic through packing your bags correctly.

The bag was silent during the trip and was easy to attach and use. The material is very durable. Unless you need a hardcase carrier I would recommend the cargo bag for ease of storage when the item is not in use.

I would buy this product again and recommend it to others needing more space when traveling.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good bag! Gets the job done!, August 9, 2009
By S. Aponte (Long Island, NY)
Overall this is a good bag and gets the job done as advertised. The bag will never look like the advertised photo but it's pretty close. We were able to fit 3 large Nike duffel bags and 2 smaller duffel bags with ease. We could've probably stuffed more in there but were content with what we were able to fit. I was stuck on whether or not to buy a hard top vs this bag and by far the bag was the best decision at least for us, simply for storage reasons. This bag folds up nice into a carry case and you can easily store it in a closet. We had no room for a hard case so we would've had to leave it on the roof all year long which wasn't ideal for us. The most challenging part of the installation was the fact that our cross bars go from side-to-side and not long ways. This presented a challenge because we could not get all 4 straps to reach the cross bars. Since I was already purchasing additional locking straps for security reasons we were able to resolve this issue easily.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Nice Car carrier, September 4, 2009
By A changing World (chicago, il)
A savior for long vacations! We finally have room in the car. I like that it is soft sided - can squeeze things into the corners. Easy to get on top because it is lightweight. Fits on our factory installed racks - did not have to purchase extra parts.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Handy roof rack, September 12, 2009
By leader of the pack (usa)
This roof rack works great and is easy on and off and very secure. I also bought the 4 thule bags to go with it, because as a set it works very well. We put it on our roof rack and secure it with 2 extra bungee cords and it does no move an inch. We go on very long road trips 400- 600 miles. They only problem I have ( or else it would have been 5 stars), we were driving in hurricane Danny through Vermont to Maine and had a minimal amount of water sepage. I must add that the bag was also left on the car overnight as well. We usually wrap the luggage in garbage bags and have never had a problem, this time I was being lazy. But I would I would buy this again. It is light weight and easy, it folds up small so you can take it off when you get to your destination. We are a family of 5 and 1 dog and it has more than enough room for 2 weeks of stuff

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good option, August 9, 2009
By G. Kirschner (Minneapolis, MN)
Bought it for a 3-day weekend trip to Michigan. Was quick and easy to place on roof of my '99 Jeep. It was just big enough for the gear we took: Clothes and sundries for two adults, two teenagers and two dogs. Water resistant, not water proof. We drove through a storm and the bottom of 1 bag got wet, everything else stayed dry. I always pack most of my gear in plastic anyway so no problems there. Good quality product.

This bag is so not worth the money. If you are looking to get a car top carrier get one that is plastic. This product is also not water resistant like it states. I will never buy a product from this company again!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent Cargo Carrier for Your Van or SUV!!, August 30, 2010
By P. Pollock (Los Angeles, USA)
This review for the Thule Tahoe carrier. Sells for about $180 on Amazon, and $200-$230 from local dealers around town.
This product is excellent for packing items on the roof of a large vehicle - like an SUV or a van.
HOWEVER it is not guaranteed to be completely waterproof or stormproof. If you need your items to be totally dry, even when driving through heavy rain, then you've got two options: (1) Buy the Thule Tahoe carrier and then double-wrap all your gear in plastic trash bags before putting them in the carrier (i.e. same method as for canoeing), or (2) Buy a rooftop carrier made from hard durable plastic - but you'll pay somewhere between $500-$1,000 for a good carrier made from hard polymer.

You do need a roofrack on your vehicle to use this item properly.

OK ... my review:

Well - I give the folks at Thule (in Sweden) an A+ for the design of this cargo carrier!!!

This cargo carrier is built really tough, the design is smart, it's easy to attach to your vehicle, and it's great for getting bulky stuff OUT of your vehicle (so everybody can spread out). I bought one of these flexible cargo carriers when the family grabbed too much gear for a camping trip. Let's face it - clothes, sleeping bags, tents, pillows etc. are all bulky items - pretty soon your entire vehicle is overflowing with stuff. But this cargo bag from Thule is built with super-strong zips and tiedowns. It's ready-to-use when you take it out of the box. DON'T bother buying the smaller size carrier ... this larger version fits on any medium or large SUV. First, adjust your roofrack so the spacer bars (front and back) are well apart. Then zip open the carrier, pack it full of stuff, mount it on top of your vehicle, secure all the straps, and you're ready to GO! By the way, generally I only pack soft gear in the bag - so nothing sharp will puncture the cargo carrier.

One special feature that's particularly helpful ... are the 2 tightening straps on each side of the carrier. They make it very easy to cinch down all the gear and get the final rooftop package into a solid compressed shape. I did NOT have any problems stabilizing this bag while driving - and we were cruising at 70-80 mph. I DO find that using one extra piece of long cord (or rope) is handy - just so you can tie down the bag using the side attach points (apparently not everybody is taking advantage of them).

This is just a great piece of gear - probably one of the best additions for my camping items that I've purchased in a long time.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  does the job...pretty well, January 20, 2011
By Tom
I bought this for a move from Las Vegas to Cleveland Ohio, In the middle of December. Very large and easy to use. Weather protection on the other hand, was ok. I did encounter a lot of rain. Just make sure there is nothing very important or weather sensitive up there, and wrap up what u have. I would buy it again.....

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Stabilization, June 21, 2010
By Skiing pink (Utah)
I love this cargo bag because it is so easy for me to handle and place on and take off my car. I do have one problem with it. I find that it shifts to one side of the car during trips. I finally got some straps to tie it down even more and it stayed in the middle of the car then. We went through some rain on our trip and our things did get wet. I will place the contents in plastic bags next time. I would recommend this product for it's ease and price.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Family trip, June 14, 2011
By RAH
The bag arrived quickly. It comes in a great little tote bage that I used to store another travel box in while the car top bag was in use. At first this bag seems inadequate but once in place and the expansion zippers are undone it becomes quite spacious. I fit all of our luggage inside (for my wife, myself, and our three daughters). The bag stayed in place for the whole trip. To unload I actually left the bag packed and pulled it onto a luggage carrier at the condo as a unit. On the way home the weather report showed rain. I had purchased a box of heavy lawn bags and put our luggage in them prior to loading the cartop bag. This was fortunate because the rain was heavy and lasted for at least fourty five minutes to an hour. By the time we arrived home and unloaded the inside bottom of the carrier was wet and holding a small amount of water. Thanks to the trash bags our luggage was relatively dry. This carrier never claims to be water tight. Over all I think it is a good product that I have no trouble recommending. It is tough, durable, and attractive as these bags go and with the right wet prep done you should have no problem.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  If you can afford the hard plastic, do!, April 22, 2011
By Megb
Cons: All righty, it leaks in rain as some other reviews stated. There is noise from the roof that you can hear in the car as you drive as other reviews stated. Pros: It holds a ton of stuff, it is less expensive then the hard cases, super easy to store, easy to put on hour roof too. We have a chevy suburban FYI. Because of all of the pros we are going to keep it but buyer beware, don't put things that can't get a little damp inside. Safe travels!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Cargo and extra storage, January 4, 2011
By Sschacht2470
I found this product first on another site for much more. We needed a cargo storage that would give us the option to expand for when we come home with more than we left with, and one that has easy, quick and secure installation. We need the extra storage for vacations and trips to see family and this definitely works for us. Also, the first time we used this product it was raining and our merhandise arrived to our destination dry and in tack! With the expandable option and easy installation, I highly recommend this product!

I drove back and forth from NC to NJ and the carrier did its job. The only thing is that if its not SUPER full and you tighten the straps you have to secure the straps or they flap on the roof or the sides of the bag and it gets annoying, other than that it was great.

2.0 out of 5 stars.  It's okay in fair weather, April 15, 2012
By DMM Dothan, Alabama
The Thule 867 works good as long as it's not raining. If you get caught in the rain with this car top carrier you are out of luck because it leaks like a sieve. I have been in that situation twice. The first time all the luggage got wet and several articles of clothing were stained. We spent half the night in a hotel drying clothes. The second time we placed the luggage in plastic garbage bags. That protected it for the most part, but the Thule still leaked badly. There was probalbly a cup of water in the bottom of the carrier. Otherwise it works good and easy to use.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Returned It., July 28, 2011
By C. Mann (Tennessee)
I bought this Thule Cargo Bag to extend the carrying capacity of my 4Runner for a 2 week beach vacation. Bag looks nice and installs easily with almost zero noise going 80 down the highway. However, we hit rain coming and going in which every single item in the bag got soaked. Could've been a defect in the bag or just the fact that it was a bag and not a plastic hardtop cargo carrier. I returned it and Amazon credited the full amount quickly. I'll pay a bit more and go with a plastic hardtop carrier next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent, August 7, 2011
By M. Maxwell (SLC, UT)
Greatly exceeded expectations. Very tough, thick, well-made. More waterproof than it is given credit. We drove from Utah to Southern California and back. Through a few rain storms. As a precaution each of our duffle bags were wrapped in a hefty bag. We drove through heavy rain for about an hour and no rain got inside. It holds a lot and left our Pathfinder interior very roomy for 6 passengers. Highly recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thule 867 Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag, July 26, 2011
By Bob
Bought this Tahoe bag for our annual beach trip and we loved it. Very big, holds a lot or cargo, thick material and good protection for the roof of your car. We used it for bedding, towels, pillows and all the other bulky stuff that doesn't weigh too much. Only thing I would point out is to make sure you secure the excess strap after attaching it to the car. I used zip ties and they worked perfectly, otherwise you will get flapping noise from the excess straps hitting the roof. Other than that, it worked perfectly, glad I made the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Fantastic, July 24, 2011
By jfwlr (Florida USA)
Used this on a short trip and was great for getting our camping gear out of the suv. Following suggestions from other reviews, we got extras straps and tied it down for side to side support. The cargo bag has straps for the front and back rooftop bars but nothing for the sides, having the extra straps was a great peace of mind thing even as travelled around 70-75 mph.

Along the way we hit a strong 30 minute rain storm and I can tell you that it is water resistant as the items (tents/containers) in the front did get a little wet but everything in the back (sleeping bags) stayed dry. Being able to take it off the roof and storing in its storage bag was nice for camping trips and storing in the garage when not in use.

I can say if i had to take a long trip, I feel completely comftorable to use this cargo bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great cargo bag, June 1, 2011
By Jason
I bought this bag for my families move from Georgia to Alaska. The trip was 4700 mile and the bag held up great. I had 3 suitcases and some misc. things in it. I did have everything in plastic bags like recommended and nothing got wet. It rained on us for 3 straight days. The inside did get alittle damp but nothing in the suitcases were affected. I did use electrical tape to tie down all the extra straps and never had a problem with noise. I left it on top of the car the entire time. All I ever did was unload my bags when we stopped for the day. As for gas mileage I didnt even really notice a big difference, Didnt even know the bag was there most of the time. I would recommend this to anyone who needs the extra space inside the car.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thule 867 Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag for the shipper, May 26, 2011
By NelsonE
I wanted to seize this opportunity to say thank you, for your very prompt delivery of my package. I really appreciate the excellent service. Thanks for a job well done. I was surprised for an item that was ordered in the morning with free ground delivery arrived the next day which was a Saturday with no extra charge.
You rock.

As for the Thule 867 Tahoe Rooftop Cargo Bag... it looks pretty good. I will be taking it on a trip this weekend. I will review the product then in detail then.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thule 867 Roof Top Cargo Bag, April 26, 2011

This product is FANTASTIC! We had really wanted a totally waterPROOF cargo bag but in our research, find that is pretty much nonexistant unless you really get into the BIG bucks!!! We just used "industrial" trash bags that we got at Home Depot to put our luggage in, inside the cargo bag and everything was totally dry. And we went thru a VERY heavy rain storm. Would definately suggest you have rails on all 4 sides for the best mounting. First time we used it, we hadn't purchased the front and rear rails and the load was definately not as secure as the second use. Great buy, great purchase and mailing experience!

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Good product, January 11, 2011

This cargo carrier worked great for my car. Would advise securing the straps. We did not do this on the first leg of our journey, but when the car reaches freeway speeds then the straps flap around and make a lot of noise.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Great way to fit family of 6 in tahoe and bags for trip, September 13, 2010
By Tech Diver (California)
Literally could not have made it to San Diego with all 6 of us in the Tahoe without the Thule Tahoe roof bag. Great for what it does. A bit of a pain to fully load it up though and straps are a bit hard to tighten on the bars. But good solution for taking the whole family on a big trip with lots of bags.

1.0 out of 5 stars.  Returned It., July 28, 2011
By twodogs257 (FEMA Region IV)
I bought this Thule Cargo Bag to extend the carrying capacity of my 4Runner for a 2 week beach vacation. Bag looks nice and installs easily with almost zero noise going 80 down the highway. However, we hit rain coming and going in which every single item in the bag got soaked. Could've been a defect in the bag or just the fact that it was a bag and not a plastic hardtop cargo carrier. I returned it and Amazon credited the full amount quickly. I'll pay a bit more and go with a plastic hardtop carrier next time.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  road trip, August 28, 2011
By Wagonmaster (Detroit , michigan)
The Thule rooftop cargo bag was as advertised. it was very large and well constructed to include waterproof zippers. The overall size was perfect for our roof rack. The handles allowed for easy removal of the entire unit from the roof without unloading. The expandable portion was just right for that little extra.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  great product!, August 15, 2011
By jflynn908
This is a great product if you don't want to spend the money for a hard top. It is very spacious and is fairly water resistant (we drove through several bad rain storms and none of our stuff got terribly wet.). The only thing you need to take into consideration is, you do need the cross bars for it to be completely secure. We drove without them, and everything was ok, but we had to stop periodically and adjust the straps. over all a great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Great bag!!! Used it for 2 summer vacations!, November 15, 2011
By Kris
We bought this bag in 2010 for our vacation in Florida. We drove from Missouri to Florida and it rained ALL THE WAY DOWN THERE. It rained hard too. There was a little bit of water inside but not a big deal. We fit strollers play pens and about 5 large duffle bags inside of the Tahoe Carrier bag. One of our greatest investments. We also used it for our 2011 summer vacation and ran into almost the same amount of rain and had about the same amount of water inside. No big deal. Great for large families with limited room.

4.0 out of 5 stars.  Pretty Good, September 17, 2011

Stores nicely. Easy to put on but did better with a roof rack which we didn't have and were lucky enough to borrow. Not sure if it works in the rain.

3.0 out of 5 stars.  Good item but poor support from Thule, September 7, 2011
By Sean B
I like the cargo bag but my item arrived missing the small storage bag inside the carrier. I contacted Thule regarding the issue and was told they would send me a replacement part. To date (9/7/11) it still has not arrived. Seeing as how this product is under warranty, I would expect they would have acted more rapidly to fulfill their agreement.

As far as the bag is concerned, I would suggest you not solely use the side straps. We own a Mazda Cx-9 and the bag was too long to fit between the cross bars. We used the side straps and after a trip too and from Southern CA the stitching is obviously stretched. The side stitching does not offer enough support on its own. I would suggest you use the front tethers and attach it to the front crossbar and use the rear side straps on the side rails.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Thule, May 6, 2012
By lazy
Pros:
Very durable and well constructed
Easy to attach to your vehicle
Lots of room for storage

Cons:
Not waterproof (as advertised) we wrapped everything in trash bags
Had to Pak items after bag was installed on the luggage rack
Does not lock

It would be nice to have an insert that would be waterproof

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Excellent cargo bag, March 20, 2012
By JWM
This is a quality bag. The material is pretty thick and it would take much directed and repeated force to tear this material. This bag will likely last for many, many years.

Did not test in rain but like all zippered or seamed items it would be difficult to waterproof. Although Thule did their best to completely cover the zipper with a continuous velcro'd flap, I would probably pack my stuff in plastic if rain was in the forecast.

Very simple to load and attach to the roof-rack. I tucked the tie downs under the bag and had no issue with any annoying flapping. Wish it came with side ties but I also purchased 2 cheap tie downs which made the bag solid and immoveable. For a soft shell bag I can't immagine anything nicer. Love this bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  Served its purpose, February 4, 2012
By sja1 (Pennsylvania)
My husband bought this cargo bag for our family "road trip" this past summer. It really did the trick! The reason he decided on this bag over a hard case is that it is easier to remove...especially if you need to park in a lower-height parking garage.
