I wanted an environmentally friendly alternative to toothbrushes, but this just doesn't cut it. The head is too large to clean back molars and the bristles were so hard and uncomfortable... I gave it to my husband, maybe he can use it to clean some tools or something in the garage. In any case, I won't be bying this product again.

It just love these toothbrushes. I was unable to find a toothbrush with a straight handle and natural, medium bristles in any store. I will be buying more so I will have spares when needed.

This toothbrush really leaves my teeth feeling clean. Yes, it is a bit stiff at first so you can't just go and scour your mouth with it. You have to have a gentler touch in the begiinning and over a week it will get softer. You also have to wet it first with water, a good soak not just a brief drive-by under the water on the way to the toothpaste.
My usual toothbrush preference is medium (for reference) and I Love this. I will be ordering more as my family goes through them

I love this toothbrush. This is the third time I have bought it for both my husband and I. Because it's wood and boar hair it lasts quite a long time. Though you may get the occasional loose bristle this has held up for months and months and the only reason I replace it is because I feel I should after a certain time, not because it broke down. Because it's made of natural materials I can feel good about tossing it in the compost.
Some folks say the bristles are too hard, and indeed they are quite stiff. You need to soften them by running under water for more than half a second, kinda like when you first get a new body brush. The bristles WILL break in after a short period of time, and until then I just brush gingerly. I make homemade toothpaste using coconut oil. This is the only natural bristle toothbrush that does not fall apart after 2 weeks of using my oil based toothpaste and for that I love it.
The head is large, after all you can't expect to whittle wood down to nothing and have it still be functional. However, it is not unmanageable. I am 5' 4" and have a small mouth - and I have no problem reaching the very back teeth.
You can't expect to go to something made of radically different materials and have the identical experience as with a plastic toothbrush. I like that I'm not putting plastic in my mouth, and boar bristles are simply far superior to nylon in their cleaning power. The only reason I give this 4 stars is for the price, $10 is quite high for a toothbrush. But I care a great deal about this kind of thing and it lasts quite a long time so I don't mind paying.

Five stars for a toothbrush that has no plastic components. Zero stars for the mammoth size of the thing. Negative stars for no version with soft bristles. Swissco: make it smaller and softer!
