 Same handle...5 years and counting.

My husband and I have had the same Terradent brushes for the last 5 years. I LOVE this product. They work great. I replace the heads every couple of months and it feels good knowing that I'm only discarding a very small amount of waste instead of an entire brush. I read another review in which a woman was griping that some toothpaste was collected under the bristles. I haven't found this to be an issue and overall, I think any time you are going to buy a long term re-usable product, you need to sanitize it once in a while ie; run it through the dishwasher or let it sit in a bit of peroxide. We live in such a consumeristic, instant-gratification requiring culture...it's about time people start rethinking their incessant demands that every product be disposable and maintanence-free. I love my terradent...only wish I could find something like this product that wasn't made of plastic...maybe someday.

I bought the toothbrush that these refills require years ago, and naturally the store stopped carrying both the brush and the refills. So glad that Amazon has them! Why throw away an entire brush when all you need is a new head. I usually buy the "soft" variant, but I've found that the medium is fine when the soft isn't available.

Tried this toothbrush with refills and have never turned back. Lasts a long time -just recycle when you replace the old one with new.

Five years down the line and I am still using the same tooth brush,admittedly using the replacement heads on a regular basis.

A replaceable-head toothbrush seems like a no-brainer idea, and I love the concept. Any way that we can reduce our use of plastics, I'm on it! I like the concept of the Eco-Dent TerraDent brush, and I was surprised by how much of the whole unit remains intact. In other words, I thought the entire end of the toothbrush would be replaced, but it truly is just the "disk" with the bristles. That said, I find the straight handle to be uncomfortable. That may be because I've gotten used to the ergonomic handles by other well-known manufacturers. If the TerraDent came as a truly ergonomic handle, I think they would nail this product. I'll be first in line!

Best toothbrush ever

This toothbrush is very sturdy, comfortable to use, and best of all it makes you feel good because you know you are not adding a ton of unrecyclable plastic toothbrushes to the landfills/ocean pollution every time you have to change your brush. You just pop the head out and insert a new nylon head, still a bit of plastic but much, much less.
