Almost a 5 Star
|
|
By James H. Clem on January 28, 2016

It would have gotten a 5 star, however after the brush is fully charged, per the operating instructions included, the red light is supposed to grow dimmer and eventually disappear once the unit is fully charged. I have charge it twice, the second time for over 2 days continuous charging, and the light is still the bright orange red. The same as when the charging started. Having said that, the brush itself I feel is doing a great job. My teeth feel really clean, the brush head size if fine for my mouth, my gums feel good, and I like it better than my old Oral B. Now the proof will be in the pudding when I have my next dental cleaning in June. Stay tuned.

Very poor workmanship, old NiMH battery

This alleged "Ultrasound - Toothbrush" is just a joke, a sham!
I did it with very sensitive equipment tested (needle - hydrophone + software, all professional, scientific), and have found: It provides absolutely no ultrasound on the teeth!
It's just a worthless toy, a Dummy !
Very poor workmanship, old NiMH battery, poor cleaning.
Very interesting: inventor and seller of "Smilex", Robert Bock has not provided a single technical and scientific evidence to date, what are the power (in watts), and the ultrasonic intensity (in milliwatts per square centimeter = mW / cm² ), which have a direct effect of the filaments on the teeth and gums ??
The answer: Robert Bock know but deliberately conceals FOLLOWS: that the power (in watts), and the ultrasonic intensity (in milliwatts per square centimeter = mW / cm²) is extremely low, which is crucial for the formation of cavitations. Losses are extremely high, about 99.9% -through the plastic brush head and bristles).
Professionals (and Robert Bock) know it! On the teeth there is therefore no cleaning effect by ultrasound. Not at all !
My profesionals measurements according to international standards (according to the International Assessment Directive IEC60601-1-3, and IEC 62304 certification for medical device software, professional equipment for $ 75,000 !, Very expensive) do not even have a voltage of a millivolt (1 mV) measured ?
What does Robert Bock that ? Not even the change of pressure from 1 kilopascals (1 kPa)?
Ultrasound is here as useless.
That's the only truth! Sorry!
Just as bad as "Smilex" are also competing devices as "Emmi Dental 6", "Ultreo" and the apparatus “Megasonex M8" (an almost identical version of Smilex, for sale outside of USA, only in Asia, Europe) ..Just as bad and even without ultrasonic cleaning is the other model of Emmi Dent, who says: "Emmi Dental Professional Ultrasonic Toothbrush". The term "professional" sound here only as a bad joke! Only works mechanical, scrubbing vibration operation, and not ultrasound, but poorly !
As of a one Dollar -. Shop, the production is bad, and comes from China the price of $ 150 is a joke.

Remarkable Service; Product Fixed

Horrible toothbrush. Cleans well, but the toothbrush falls apart, and I ordered two.
Got a refund on one from Amazon, and a nice email offering a refund on the other toothbrush and a free replacement, which the company promptly did. The new toothbrush has been action for a few weeks, and the new plastic seems to be holding up. I still find the tooth-cleaning capability of the toothbrush to be great, so go ahead and buy one.
If it falls apart I'll amend the review again.

Cleans

So far I like this. It leaves my teeth squeaky clean. I had the German one for 2 years, but it died. My dental checkups were good, and the hygienist did not have to do a lot of scraping of tater below the gum line. This is cheaper. The brush head is a bit small for the adult mouth, meaning it takes a while to get at all the teeth. Maybe if I didn't still have my wisdom teeth, it would be quicker. It goes for a week without charging. I like that the charger does not take a lot of room in the cabinet or on the sink. I put 4 stars only because of the extra small brush head.

It really makes my gums feel great after brushing

Interesting toothbrush here. It doesn't vibrate as hard as my Sonicare diamond clean but my mouth feels cleaner after using it. It really makes my gums feel great after brushing. Other than lack of brush head options I can't find anything wrong with this and I've been using it for over a year. Overall I think it's a good option especially if you have sensitive teeth.

hesitates like it is stopping

Brush is too small. motor or whatever it is, hesitates like it is stopping. it does not stop but makes me feel like I cannot trust it. I haven't even finished paying for it but I wish it would quit and give me an excuse to look for a better one. Have not had it long enough to know how long it will last but I don't feel like I got my moneys worth. It is very expensive. And, no, I would not recommend it to anyone.
