Great tasting toothpaste. And does not contain formaldehyde which was a concern on the other Dabur Meswak product.

I like this toothpaste a lot. I think they may have changed the formula as it's not as strong as before. I prefer the old formula to this one

As others have said, the taste is fresh and unique, not as overpowering as the mint in most mainstream US brands. If you research meswak, you will find a study that validated that traditional sticks from the meswak bush twice a day are not quite as effective as brushing 2-3 times a day with a toothbrush and fluoridated toothpaste. Another one I found studied meswak composition, and found very high levels of fluorides, which might explain the effectiveness. Dabur Meswak toothpaste contains an extract, and an abrasive Calcium Carbonate base, and formaldehyde as a preservative. My dentist warned me that at 40, my gums are receding slightly, and that abrasive toothpastes will erode any exposed dentin. I put toothpaste on my floss, and find that this toothpaste is more effective than others at preventing gingivitis when used with floss. I suspect that the formaldehyde or perhaps something in the herbal extracts is more antiseptic than the other stuff I've tried. I use this weekly not daily now.
