This should be the bible for anyone needing cosmetic facial surgery . Dr Niamtu has before and after pictures and drawings off all the Facial surgery that he does. He explains the pro and cons off each procedure. You should read this before you have any work done. You can also learn a lot from his YouTube videos.

Expensive book, full of graphic, horrifying photos of surgery, May 05, 2014
By Carol K (Iowa, United States)

I bought this for our daughter, the aspiring surgeon. She apparently read every word, more than once, and quoted extensively from it for a research paper in her h.s. AP English class. Even without the distraction of the photos that appear in the book, I could hardly read her paper. All those medical terms for the human face. All the ways doctors can cut, stretch skin, snip, stitch, alter faces....this book is not an argument for why so many people pay billions a year to go under the knife and let some doctor remodel their face. It's a thoughtful, detailed, honest account of how various procedures are done, and why. What are the possible side effects? What is the potential gain versus risk?
Yes, when the surgery goes well, the patient often enjoys a new quality of life and higher self esteem. Still. So many before and after photos had me shaking my head, thinking a lot of these people looked good, if not better, before the surgery. I find it sad that so many people are unable to age gracefully and accept their wrinkles and the effects of gravity. Sadder still, so many young, healthy people don't like the bodies they were born with, even when it's purely a social whim that dictates what's beautiful this season and what's not. Society isn't really telling us to be comfortable in our own skin. For every justifiable cosmetic surgery, it seems ten times as many are "just for looks" -- and what a shame that *looks* matter so much.
This is an expensive book, $300 new, and in a few years it may be obsolete. Today's news headline mentioned "vampire facelifts" -- doctors draw blood from a patient, put it through a machine to extract platelets, and inject the platelets into the patient's gravity-challenged face. A new variation on Botox. Don't get me started.
Daughter loves book. Mom hates what it says about us as a society.

I am a junior cosmetic surgeon from Australia and recently purchased this book at a cosmetic surgery conference in Singapore. I think that this is the best investment i have made to take my career to the next level. I was so impressed with the wealth of knowledge in this book that I went all the way to Richmond Virginia in March 2014 and attended the 2 day cosmetic surgery workshop with Dr Joe. An Absolute must for any novice cosmetic surgeon. FIVE STARS. Dr Ehsan Jadoon , PERTH AUSTRALIA

Excellent textbook, well written, complete review of anatomy. A nice addition to the library of a resident or practitioner. One of the best textbooks on facial cosmetic surgery I have owned.
