Product Description:

Surgery for salivary glands is a demanding and exacting specialty. Decisions regarding the requirement of surgical intervention, the essentially needed diagnostic aids, and the nature and extent of surgery required are of utmost importance. Failure to appreciate the importance of conservative surgery may have profound implications on the patient's esthetics, functions and quality of life. This may, however, be unavoidable to a great extent in the case of surgical intervention for malignant neoplasms, where radical surgery is indicated, especially given the largely radio resistant nature of salivary gland neoplasms. A thorough knowledge of both established and recent approaches is therefore absolutely essential for a successful practice of surgery. So this book basically aims at reviewing the newer surgical as well as endoscopic approaches to salivary glands which have resulted in lesser extensive surgeries, fewer functional problems and less conspicuous scars.
