Orthodontics is concerned with facial growth and the development of the dentition and occlusion. A knowledge of orthodontics is an essential pre-requisite to treatment planning in children and invaluable to the management of adult dentition. This text has been written to provide those who wish to learn more about this subject with a concise and practical guide. It provides sufficient theory and academic background to give the reader an understanding of malocclusion, but also contains enough practical guidance on simple treatment modalities. All aspects of orthodontics are covered in this book, from management of mixed dentition to adult and surgical orthodontics. Although aimed primarily at the undergraduate it is also designed to be of interest and help to the general dental practitioner who needs an easily accessible source of practical advice. Author Information Laura Mitchell MBE MDS BDS FDSRCPS (Glasg) FDCRCS (Eng) FGDP (UK) DOrthRCS (Eng) MOrthRCS (Eng) qualified as BDS in 1981. Not so many words at the Preface. However, I'm glad that I have it. Mine is the third edition. As the writer mentions, time doesn't mean anything. It is the passsion. I note it down,"At times it does feel as if the first is true, but I presently subscribe to the idea that given the rapid pace of change in any clinical subject that in order to reflect current practice regular revisions of a text are a fact of life". Love never fails. That's keep us as a dentist and flight for it. The book tells fully explanation to orthodontics with easily understanding words. So, it is not just good to a neophyte. It is also good for a dentist that english is not her/his mother language.
