Product Description:

Popular with thousands of students and clinicians, this book is the established introduction to the study and practice of orthodontics. With the increased demand for, and expansion of orthodontic services, this third edition has been updated to provide a comprehensive orientation to current thinking and practice for dental students and dental care professionals.

Coverage ranges from the anatomical features leading to assessment, through cephalometrics and treatment planning for all classes of patient. Modern appliance options are reflected, as well as the demand for adult orthodontics, and innovations in surgical orthodontics.

The ultimate resource for those new to the study of orthodontics, the book also serves as a launch-pad for those intending to specialize, and as an aid to interdisciplinary management of the dentition for general dental practitioners, paediatric dentists and other specialists.

5.0 out of 5 stars.  An introduction to Orthodontics, June 18, 2009
By Island Mak (Hong Kong)
Not so many words at the Preface. However, I'm glad that I have it. Mine is the third edition. As the writer mentions, time doesn't mean anything. It is the passsion. I note it down,"At times it does feel as if the first is true, but I presently subscribe to the idea that given the rapid pace of change in any clinical subject that in order to reflect current practice regular revisions of a text are a fact of life". Love never fails. That's keep us as a dentist and flight for it. The book tells fully explanation to orthodontics with easily understanding words. So, it is not just good to a neophyte. It is also good for a dentist that english is not her/his mother language.
