I'm so glad I rented this book through Amazon! It has helped me tremendously in my Geology course and has very easy to understand summaries at the end of each chapter. I would completely recommend this book.

This is a required text but I found it to be poorly written. Key vocabulary words pepper every chapter and are poorly defined. The authors often fail to fully define concepts, instead hinting that these concepts will be defined in later chapters, leaving you in the dark about current concepts.
This book may prove interesting to someone already very schooled in Geology for for a GEO 101 class, this is a bit of a nightmare.
